This company has zero respect for other people's time. We took off work three times for a bid on repairing or replacing our roof and adding some venting for our crawl space. We had three appointments on specific days and times. They totally stood us up for the first appointment. No call, no show. Thinking that mistakes happen, we called to ask what happened and to reschedule. For our second appointment, they called when they were actually supposed to be here to reschedule. Then they stood us up for the third appointment. No call, no show again. Obviously we went with a different company that keeps their commitments. What this says to me is that the folks at Vargas think they are the only ones with lives and schedules that matter. We rearranged our life three times to meet with them, and they couldn't even be bothered to make a phone call. Standing people up is incredibly rude. If they didn't want the business, they could have just politely said so, and if they can't keep track of scheduling commitments, you better bet they won't be able to keep track of service commitments. Buyer beware of red flags like these. read more

We had Vargas Masonry repair the brickwork on our front porch. The porch was in bad condition and the bricks need complete replacement. We could not be happier with the work they did. After I saw the work on my neighbor's house I had Adrian provide an estimate. They were great! Adrian checked in frequently to make sure the job was being done satisfactorily. Honest, on time, and competitively priced! I had Vargas Tuckpointing LLC out to do a chimney repair at my house in south STL city. I got bids from some other contractors, and some never even responded to my request for a quote. Adrian Vargas sent me a quote quickly, was very competitive, and he was able to squeeze my job in between some larger jobs he had just 2 days after I got the quote. Showed up on time for bid, crew was on time day of work, cleaned up thoroughly, cut out and replaced more mortar than was bid as crew found a couple of loose spots. It all looks great. Very professional throughout. Only hiccup was they hadn't seen an a/c unit an hour into mortar removal, when I pointed it out. They blew out the dust, covered it with a tarp, and took care of the issue immediately. We will use them again. read more

I found Vargas Tuckpointing through Yelp, and was not sure if I could believe all the glowing reviews....all I can say is, YES, you can believe it! We were mid-project on a roof replacement on our Ladue home when we realized we needed some tuckpointing and chimney cap repairs. I contacted some 'big-name' tuckpointers that I have used in the past in order to bid the job, and, while they were quick to give a bid, they could not get to my job for weeks. Adrian at Vargas was quick to give me a bid, and made a point of squeezing my project in within days. His work was exceptional, thorough, and clean (which was of utmost concern since he was working on a brand new roof!) His bid was competitive with the other bids that I received. Adrian is very conscientious and thorough. He will bring issues to your attention that need addressing (either by him or someone else) and will follow up on the job if necessary; we needed him to come back for some additional work on the chimney cap and he did so in a very timely manner. Adrian also provided before and after photos of the job, which was really appreciated since the work was on the chimney and some aspects were difficult to see from the ground. I intend to use Vargas for our future tuckpointing needs. We have a bluestone walk that we have searched for years to find a qualified tuckpointer to maintain and look forward to having Adrian 'clean up' the mess the others have made during their 'repairs'. I was really impressed to start, they told me they could do a bid the next day and Antonio called me in the morning saying he could show up early if that was okay. The bid took about 20 minutes, he gave me a really competitive quote verbally, and said his wife would email the official quote within 24 hours. This is where everything went wrong. I waited 3 days and called, the business number is his wife's cell phone, and she answered "hello?" Instead of stating the name of the business. I gave my information and said I'd been waiting on an email and was eager sign and get started. She told me she would email me before end of day. I emailed them that evening to make sure they had my email address, I also texted it to her cell phone along with my name, contact number and address. I waited 2 more business days and called back. This time I was told I needed to speak to Antonio before they send me the bid, I requested he call me to discuss, she stated that would be fine and she would have him call me ASAP. I found his number in my phone and called 4 hours later, he sounded confused and told me he would talk to her about why I have not been sent a bid. I left another voicemail and emailed back requesting I be contacted. There was a complete lack of communication, they did not have the same story, and it has been another week and I still have not been contacted. I was eager in the beginning but this experience was completely unprofessional. I really hope other potential clients aren't treated with the disrespect I have received. read more
