He seemed very open to discussing concepts for my bathroom remodel and making recommendations or suggestions. The owner was very upfront about the fact that their jobs had them booked out over 8 weeks away. My opinion is they must be doing something right if they have that much business. He was open to recommending a plumber since I did not want to wait over 8 weeks to get the plumbing side of the work done. Definitely the type of people I like to do business with.

We hired Tratt to demo and design build a new detached garage. We started working with them in May…read more2023. We finalized plans by August and agreed to a final cost proposal in September including an estimated 2-3 month project timeline. At first, they provided okay communication, a bit slow at getting back to us but we figured they were busy. The demo began in September 2023 and was completed by early October. Concrete began a couple weeks later and finished in October 2023. Framing in November then roofing and rough electrical by late December 2023. In January, communication broke down. Calls and texts went unreturned while we waited to hear when siding and gutters might come. Near the end of January to our surprise the owner of the concrete company showed up at our door informing us that he had not been paid for the work that occurred back in October and that he would put a lien on the property. We informed him that we paid Tratt on time for each invoice. We finally got in touch with Tratt and inquired about the concrete. They claimed they were disputing their invoice. At this point, we had been waiting a long time for the siding and gutters. Our expectation was the same company would do both but according to tratt no one was getting back to them. In February they opted to do the siding themself. The siding on the back of the garage was misaligned significantly (1" or more). When we pointed this out and asked to correct it they got defensive. They claimed correcting it would mean a portion would no longer be to code and so they would charge for the time. They did eventually fix it but made a mess while doing so. We had to pick up the trim nails left behind all over. Around the same time we received the Notice of Claim of Mechanic's Lien from the concrete company. Then a mere 10 days later, we received another (!!!) Notice of Mechanic's Lien from the truss company. We asked Tratt why they had not been paid, and they continued to feed us more excuses. They claimed they didn't show up to the meeting location to pay the invoice in November and that their bank account was hacked so they couldn't accept a check. Tratt said they will be paid. We called the truss company a couple weeks later to see what was going on and they said that they have not been able to get a hold of Tratt, that they still had not been paid, and that the story of them not being at the agreed location to collect payment was not true. Over the next 2 months Tratt was nearly impossible to get a hold of. We called, sent numerous emails, and texts asking for a clear schedule for completion, lien waivers on completed work, and a listing of the subs. Tratt never provided any of these things. Wanting to make any progress we could we went ahead and called in the framing inspection that Tratt neglected to do in December and the inspection failed with several issues that needed fixing. Shortly after, we were included in a lawsuit against Tratt because of the nonpayment to the concrete company. At this point (April 2024), our lawyer sent a demand letter to Tratt, asking how they plan to correct and finish the garage. The garage was now 4 months behind schedule. Tratt ultimately abandoned the job having never responded. In June, we hired a new contractor to correct the defects and finish the job. Such a big difference! We were treated with professionalism and honesty, a far cry from our experience with Tratt. We were dismissed from the lawsuit in September, but not before receiving one final parting gift from tratt-- another (!!!) Notice of Claim for Mechanic's Lien, this time from the electrician. To their credit we messaged them and explained the situation and they did not end up filing a lien. The case we were dismissed from concluded October 9, 2024. Tratt never showed up. The judge issued default judgment against Tratt.

The work done by Tratt CS was all quality. The pricing was fair. However, the communication was a…read morenightmare. Texts and calls would frequently go unanswered--until we threatened to fire them. Shouldn't take threats to get basic communication.

Hired Glenn and his son to do some deck work. They, removed one of the two staircases coming off…read morethe deck, changed out the old wood railing system for the maintenance free kind, all new support posts and rotten deck board repairs, replaced the fascia with maintenance free boards to match the railing system, added a new gate at the top of the stairs, a new gate was also added to the fence below. They chiseled out 3 old deck piers no longer in use. They did a fantastic job. They were here around 8am every morning. They cleaned up their area every day. Both Glenn and Caleb were easy to talk to and answered any questions and concerns we had through the process. Overall, a couple of really nice guys that worked really hard each day they were here. We really appreciate all the work that went into making our project look great, meet code and to be strong and sturdy. Would definately hire again. If you need quality work done, give them a call!

We hired this husband and wife duo to demo the existing shower-tub and replace with a new unit do it to update our builders grade shower tub combo. I have included all of the paperwork and contracts in the pictures below but working with these people has been the most difficult renovations company that I have ever experienced in my entire life. Our initial contact with them was OK. They came out and gave us a quote and everything was OK. We set a date and then the day that they were supposed to show up they pulled up outside and said they couldn't work here because they were afraid of their tools getting stolen by the crew that we had working to epoxy our garage floor. Note they only had to work inside and blamed it on the lack of space when they could have just parked in the yard and used the other half of the driveway. Even more the wife on the 2nd day came in and started making racial complaints about Indian people and Hispanic people. But I digress. They gave us our final quote and everything was up to code and they ripped everything out and then we get to the end of day one which was the demo day and they said that they were going to charge us an extra $130 or else they were going to walk off of the site with our bathroom destroyed to move a pipe that wasn't included in the original scope of work even though we had asked if there was any more charges and they said no. So we were forced to pay them an extra $130 out of pocket immediately for them to move this pipe into place. They finally got the bathroom put back together and the new shower tub combo installed on the 2nd day of work. And my husband and I were out of the house and did not get a chance to view the shower until after we got home. When we got home as you can see from the pictures this is what they left us with. Our walls were a complete mess the silicone beading was extremely messy and the outer part of the shower wasn't even attached to the wall. And we were waiting for everything to dry before we used the shower and we finally use the shower and it is leaking into our downstairs bathroom in our newly renovated and finished basement. I am looking for a full refund from this company plus whatever it costs to fix the drywall damage and water damage in the downstairs bathroom. We found these people on a flyer at Menards. I am so disappointed. It is my husbands birthday today and this is what we got.

He has done everything from functioning as general contractor and finishing our basement into an apartment to removing a tree out of our back yard and building a shiplap wall for our laundry room. He did framing to finish work. He designed and did all the tile work for the shower. I don't know that there is a area of construction that he can't do. He is honest, affordable and makes sure you end up with what you wanted. He is a quality contractor and a quality person. You will be happy when you hire him.

You can do it yourself with better results. I'd like to share our story, make that nightmare, in dealing with Jason @ Elysium. Our new Pella Windows took 6 months before they were installed and then they were installed incorrectly and ordered in the wrong size. Go to a window company not a general contractor for windows. We have had Pella (windows Jason installed) and Anderson windows out and they both told us they were ordered and installed wrong. The anderson rep took videos and pictures of the work to show their office and their other clients on why you don't use a handyman for windows. After 12 months of back and forth to resolve this issue Jason files for bankruptcy and we are left holding the bag as we were listed as a creditor. I got a postcard in the mail from this company and I'd seen their truck working on my street. I…read morerequested a quote and they came out to take a look with an online quote coming later. I had a few questions and asked for the name of the customer down the street so I could ask my neighbor about their experience. I never got that info. I also never got an updated quote despite my repeated requests. Their initial quote was amongst the least expensive but I was requesting more work be added and they never responded! I don't want to id the estimator by name, but I will say that I'm disappointed in their lack of response.
