Sadly, Oatlands is a property that leaves a tremendous amount to be desired. By US standards, it should be classified as a 2 star property. While there is a grand lobby, which is heavily advertised on its site, everything else is in a very sad condition. Rooms are quite dirty, with spider webs on the interior side of windows, dead bugs on the windowsills and tons of stains on the bedding. The condition of furniture in the rooms and carpets in hallways is in a very poor condition. Paint is peeling in most places and dust has not been wiped off for a long time. The main restaurant had an incredibly fishy smell the entire time. The people working the front desk are pleasant to interact with, so that's the biggest upside of this property. With that said, they did double charge for the room by accident and it took several back and forth emails to adjusted, with them assuring initially that all was correct. Outdoor areas of the property are also in a subpar condition, with things like random hoses laying around, excavations in different parts and poorly maintained landscaping. Despite the substantial real estate footprint, there aren't any walkways or paths to walk around the property or gardens of any kind. As a whole, while the property is historic, it is not possible to recommend it due to its sad condition.

Title: A Truly Awful Stay - Shocked by the Service and Safety Issues…read more I've never written a negative review in my life -- not for a hotel, restaurant, or even when something was wrong. But our stay at the Beverbrook Hotel was so terrible it felt like a bad reality TV show. From the start, we weren't allowed to use amenities while waiting for our rooms, and when taken to the restaurant by buggy, a broken metal bar inside the cart ripped my ear lobe open. Their response? A cocktail napkin and a casual "we'll fix the cart." No follow-up for the entire week, while I dealt with a bleeding ear and avoided using the pool because of it. Our room wasn't ready due to a shower issue, so we had to live out of bags in a family member's room. Once we finally got our own, the AC couldn't keep up with the heat (understandable due to the weather). They lost our golf clubs before an early tee time and told us to make our own coffee using a machine no one could explain. My drink order (non-alcoholic) was served with vodka -- a serious error for someone who doesn't drink. Our appetizers never arrived. The spa staff promised a complimentary lunch, then charged us after the fact. Two massage appointments were booked for the wrong day. Dinners were overpriced and absurd. We were forced into a set menu at the Japanese restaurant (£2,500 for 8 guests!) and only after insisting were we allowed to order freely at the Italian restaurant -- and even then, they gave away our outdoor table and tried to serve us someone else's wine. This hotel is beautiful on the outside, but behind the scenes it's unprofessional, disorganized, and at times dangerous. I cannot recommend Beverbrook to anyone.

Cobham

They are now "Ramada by Wyndham Cobham" AKA "Ramada Cobham M25"…read more PROS: * Good price. * Location close to highways if you plan to explore outside of London. * Right next door there is an outdoor laundry. Charges are like $10 gbb to $15 gbp per load for a wash and dry cycle, depending on the settings you choose; however, laundry detergent is included in the wash. * Right next door to a food court and mini shopping area. CONS: * Lack of access to public transportation * Staff often do not understand requests. * Don't expect accurate billing. * Don't expect points refund if you cut your stay short - even due to extenuating circumstances. * No phone in room. * GPS, Google Maps etc. struggle with finding this hotel. Best luck with Ramada Cobham M25. Basic utilitarian hotel that was clean and comfortable. The staff needs improvement, however. They seemed not to understand simple requests and made frequent mistakes, even on easy requests like for more towels. There is no phone in your room; however, if you need to make a local call, they will....on the main phone at the front desk where guests check in. While there are lots of food options right next door and even a mini store, if something happens and you no longer have a car (as did to me) please be aware that you will be stuck. While there is a path that you can walk to the train station, the property, for some inexplicable reason, decided to completely block off all access to the path (which according to Google Maps takes 45-60 minutes to get to the train station). Once you get to the train station, major attractions are still all 1.5-2 hours away. There is an infrequent bus that runs limited hours that is closer than the train station; however, it's very difficult to get on and off the property without a car. Taxi to the train station costs $35 gbp each time. Once this came to light, I decided to switch hotels, to one more central to London as I no longer had a car (due to an accident). The desk clerk told me I could check out early; however, she would not give me a final statement. I told her I paid via points and asked about the refund for the 4 unused days and she told me she had sent an email to "the office" regarding my early check out. She claimed that once that was all resolved, I would get a final statement in my email in a couple of days. I asked her numerous times to verify that I was completely checked out and she said that I was. Days go by and I never receive the final statement. Luckily, paranoid person that I am, I had convinced her to print my statement folio to date, upon which she handwrote my check out date (at my request). Lo and behold, a few more days later, I get a request to review my full stay! I reach out to Wyndham customer service regarding the fact that I checked out early and get a case number that apparently was invalid. I call in and get a new case number - only to be told that they aren't going to refund my points because the clerk did not understand that I had paid with points....when the clerk's whole explanation of why I didn't get a check out statement was because I had paid with points and that the main office had to figure out how to refund them? They gave me a courtesy 1 day's worth of points, though they refused to refund the 60,000 points lost. Very disappointing experience both with this location and Wyndham in general.

Such a lovely hotel for the price…read more All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, and a great size. The Wi-Fi is also free which is a bonus. Lots of parking in the service station, and tons of places to eat!
