We found this place last fall. We live in Cockeysville and bike along the NCR. I love this cozy friendly restaurant with great food and service and frequent it at least once a week. We have NEVER had a bad meal. The pizza is wonderful. They have a gluten free option. The portions are generous. I particularly like their apple and fig salad. They have great wings with a generous portion. My friend likes their fresh tuna salad and bowl. Again generous serving size. Very diverse menu options to satisfy everyone. This is a local gem It should be supported by the community. The owner is very philanthropic. He supports local charities churches NCR etc by donating 20 percent of collections for that day for people who come in and mention the name of the charity. Stumbled across this charming restaurant when I was looking for a lunch spot for me and my child! What an adorable little restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Needed some guidance on what to order and my server suggested the grilled chicken Caesar wrap. It was delicious and fresh! My child ordered the pizza. It was so cool watching them put it in their brick oven! I had to sneak a bite of his pizza since they are known for pizza. Did not disappoint! The crust and sauce were extremely fresh and light! Had more cheese than I like. But my child was loving it!!! When we come back, I'll probably order the margarita pizza since that is more my speed of cheese, sauce and crust ratio! If you want to sit indoors there are plenty of table and if you'd like to sit outdoors there is an adorable patio with umbrellas! You can tell this is a beautiful family owned restaurant with plenty of stories and character. The interior looks like a barn which my server later told me it was and got renovated to the restaurant we see today. They've been open for about nine years. The best word to describe this restaurant is charming. I loved it. It is located off a main road so I would advise being careful with parking. I was unaware that there is a parking lot in the back of the house next to the restaurant! Great food with such a nice atmosphere, the songs were the top of our lunch! The Pizza was really tasty and the Red Velvet desert was so good. We would totally recommend that place and will come back for sure! Try to sit inside because the bees outside really annoying . Hope they can improve the service too, just little things that could make our time so much better. Like numbers of spoons for desert. Two out of the three times we have been there service has been a little iffy. The restaurant is beautiful. There is outside seating available with a nice little seating area, but the food is just way overpriced for the quality. The desserts do not seem to be made inside of the restaurant and the cheesecake and ice cream seem to be very overly freezer burnt All of the waitresses seem to be very young maybe even school aged and don't always seem to be happy or maybe they just don't have a lot of customers service experience yet The best thing we've ever had on the menu was the crab dip, waffle fries and the Smashburger's are very good They're regular fries are always soggy and a lot of times they come cold. I've never had a fresh hot fry from this establishment except for the waffle fries with crab dip. read more

I am giving 3 stars because I would rate food 5, service on my last visit 1. I came for lunch with friends - my recommendation because really like the place. Had reserved for 6, but weather was bad and some drove a distance so only ended up being only 4. Server seemed to have quite attitude before I even sat down - seemed almost personal. Sone ladies in my party are older and not small so I requested 2 4 seater table be combined (the restaurant was empty.) She said they would not do that because larger party might come in. Didn't make a lot of sense because I had originally reserved table for 6 and would have taken that space anyway. Said ok - didn't argue but for some reason server never acted cordial. No thanks - no you are welcome - can I get you anything. Woodfire Kitchen has always been a destination for me however recently I was there and left very disappointed. My friend ordered a smash burger and received instead a double cheese burger on a roll. I inquired about the smash burger and waitress said "it's a smash burger and tries to lift the top of the burger bun to show it was smashed! It was not smashed and my friend just ate it. As a starter we ordered crab dip and it was very fishy tasting so we decided it would be safer not to eat it. I ordered ahi tuna that was over cooked and hard. The seaweed salad had the same fishy taste. The waitress was inattentive and preoccupied with socializing. I still can not believe that the waitress was selling the double cheeseburger as a smash burger. So insulting to our intelligence. I was there to speak with my friend and did not feel like fighting about the food. When the waitress brought a container for us to take the dip home I told her it was fishy and we didn't care for it. She responded with "it's crabby ". At thst point anything I would have said would have fallen on deaf ears. I'm done there. read more

We had made a reservation for 6:00 PM and requested a quiet table. We were coming from Towson to meet friends coming from Bel Air. Upon arriving, there was no one at the door to greet us. A server walked up to us and said "How many"? When I said we had a reservation at 6:00 PM, but were a little early, she walked away. She then came back and asked our name. Not the most welcoming introduction to the restaurant. We were seated and quickly realized that there was no quiet place in the restaurant. It is an open floor plan with a beamed ceiling - all hard surfaces, so it was noisy, and it was not even full of patrons. Lisa, the server, got wine glasses and brought us water. She then took our order and disappeared. We think she left the restaurant, and no one told us. Someone else served us our food. We could not seem to get anyone's attention, so our friend got up and went to the counter to get a glass of ice. The best part of our dining experience was the food. We enjoyed Chicken Caesar Wrap, 2 Roseda Farm Angus Burgers - one with just blue cheese and one with cheese, lettuce, tomato and slice of onion - both cooked medium rare, and one Sausage, Fig and Brie pizza without the sausage. All were freshly prepared with high quality ingredients. It is a BYOB with a $5.00 corkage fee per table. The restaurant is noisy! The service leaves a lot to be desired. The food is excellent. Driving home from a quick shopping run to Timonium, we were running up York Road and needed to find a simple dinner. This place popped up in our search and we reviewed the menu. Looked good so off we went. What a great decision and a great first time. Yeah, it is noisy in there, but it is comfortable. Lots of people seem to know each other. Lots of regulars it seems. Staff was great and friendly. Owner took time to meet people that were new. Found out we are practically neighbors. Food was brought out in a timely manner. Not rushed. Salads were okay. Nothing fancy, but hey, it was a simple salad. Pizza was awesome. Ordered the bacon ranch chicken. Love the crust. Not normally a big fan of white sauce but this was good. Cannot wait to go back. The people who run this restaurant are AMAZING! I am a teacher who works at a Title 1 school in Southeast DC. While taking a trip to Hershey park, we got stranded on the side of the highway. My kids were very hungry as many of them did not each lunch and were expecting a free meal at the park. I called this restaurant as it was the only one nearby on Google maps as a last ditch effort to ensure my kids could eat. Zero questions asked, they drove to the side of the highway and delivered some amazing pizza, enough for each student and staff member, free of cost. And it tasted amazing! The service crew here have an edge, an attitude - not in a good way. This probably comes from the ownership or management- just guessing because it usually does. Servers rarely if ever smile and never have an ounce of enthusiasm. They take patrons completely for granted. Food portions are small and food is not consistent. Pizza prices are super high - for dough and a few toppings. These pizzas are not stellar in any way - basic and uninspired. The atmosphere is very loud as it's all hard surfaces. After many visits, service has become worse, prices skyrocketed and staff more unhappy. We won't be going back. Too many other places offer better. read more

the best thing they have is the crabdip waffle fries on point every time except the small amount of crab dip they put on the fries. my review starts with service tonight other waitresses were refilling our drinks because ours never came back to even see how things were after taking the order. once we got our food our fries were cold not warm cold literally to the touch. we asked for desert 3 scoops of ice cream total and a slice of cheesecake waited about 10 mins and I stood up to cancel it and pay and go they decided to come out so I requested everything be put in a Togo. needless to say, we were going to eat our ice cream on the way home in the car, but the ice cream, including the cheesecake all taste severely freezer burnt. It's really sad because this is the closest restaurant to our home. The first time we moved up here two years ago and ate there. It was amazing. The second time things started to fall short and unfortunately, this time probably would be our last time. when they took our food, they realize that we barely ate any of it and not one thing was asked. For as long as it took to get our food asking for a remake on fries, probably would've been the worst mistake. Anyway they probably still would've not been ate. I have been here several times and the food has always been excellent. It is a small establishment and gets busy quickly. Service depends on how busy they are as at times they seem short staffed. Tom and his daughter are such good people! I've had the pleasure of eating here a couple times now since we moved up this way. They have ample gluten free offerings which is important for me as I have Celiac. They also have vegan options (like the impossible burger) which is awesome as I prefer that too! Basically they have options for everyone! My first visit was with my mom and grandma, they loved it! My mom always talks about making the drive up here so she can go again. The second time I went was with my Husband. He is picky when it comes to his Pizza and he was quite impressed! Needless to say, I love it here. It's a local biz, they have great food, and they deserve our support. Service with a smile is so underrated! P.s. The crab dip here is my personal favorite. I crave it multiple times a week. This place is great for what it is. We had reservations for 6:00 on a Saturday night. It's not a big place and was busy but our table was ready and waiting. Good appetizers, (mussels YUM), sandwiches, burgers and pizza. We had the mussels and crab dip appetizers (wonderful fresh bread), a combo of wraps, a burger, and pasta dishes. Cheese cake for desert. Everything was good, the service kind, quick and attentive. AND, very inexpensive for what you get IMHO, helped by $5 per table corkage. 4 not 5 stars just because of menu limitations. read more

Ate here for lunch around 12pm. About 1/2 full and was seated right away. Extremely quaint and cozy. There is outside seating available. Staff is polite. Menu have a good variety. Staff was tight but they all did hustle. I ordered the BBQ sandwich without the bun it came with fries BBQ was fair but I wasn't a fan of the fries . Price was fair for portions. Very nice local place who knows how to handle a crowd! We were in the area for a major high school cross country meet at the high school down the street and stopped here for lunch before our son's event. The staff were super friendly even though they were swamped! Almost every table was taken inside, they have picnic tables outside as well which was nice for extra seating on nice days. We were seated by the door and it took some time to even get a drink order in since they were so busy. We got our drinks quickly once we did get to order and then waited another 5 mins or so to put the food order in. We needed up waiting about 20 mins for the food. They are supposedly known for their pizza, and it did look and smell good when we saw them come out but we ordered wings and a wrap. The wrap was perfectly portioned with lettuce, chicken and dressing and the wings were cooked really well, no pink or dryness. The fries were epic! I could have had an entire meal out of the fries alone! The decor is rustic and the restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. Even though they were busy, the staff all were so kind. Price was very reasonable. All in all, a great place to eat and we will be stopping here again, this time for the pizza, next time we have a meet at the high school. read more

I was very excited to try this place because I heard great things and I was very charmed when we walked in. But I was completely disappointed by the shrimp salad wrap. While the shrimp salad flavor was good, there was so little shrimp salad in it, it was comical. The primary flavors were lettuce and tortilla. Did they run out and didn't want to tell us they were scraping the bottom of the bowl? For $15 a wrap, my expectations were much higher. read more

Glad to have found this place on my way back from a trip out to Rocks State Park. Would definitely visit again. Atmosphere: Very cute outdoor dining option with lights and lots of little plants and decor. Definitely created a nice vibe. Inside, the bathrooms were very homey and super clean. A big plus. It was pretty quiet and not crowded at all when we went on Sunday evening. Service: The servers and owner were so friendly to us. They took the time to get to know us and share some information about themselves and the area. Made us feel right at home and welcome. The only concern is that the chef/server kept forgetting little additions to our meals and brought the food out without them initially. They were quick to fix the mistakes and brought us the other ingredients to add to our plates though. Food: So many options to choose from! Love that the menu has such unique burgers and pizza varieties. The "surprise me" option on the menu was really unique and I'm bummed I didn't actually try this. Instead I got the peach jam burger with feta and bacon because it sounded so delicious - and it was. It needed maybe a touch more salt and I think it really could have benefited from a bit more feta. Driving down York Road on Saturday, looking for a lunch stop, we decided to pull in and give it a try. Not disappointed. Wife enjoyed a pecan and cranberry salad topped with chicken. I had a spicy chicken on a roll, but decided to count my calories and disregarded the roll and concentrate on the chicken and the Brussel sprouts side. We ate al fresco in the company of several flys. There are several tables and high top tables to choose. We ordered...and paid inside then seated ourselves and waited a briefly to be served. I must say that this is an unusual rating for me. I have been several times before and everything was delicious so I am hoping that it's just the staff that was working on 12/27/23. Both pizzas were very overcooked. The cheese was brown on top and it was so dry I couldn't eat it. My son got a chicken sandwich and when he started to eat it a bunch of liquid came dripping out. I came here for dinner with my wife and another couple. We sat at the high table on the right side of the restaurant. The server was very attentive. The restaurant was packed, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their experience. The menu is quite eclectic. They have wood-fired pizza, burgers and bar food, and had a specials menu for latin cuisine options. For appetizers, We ordered the wings which were cooked well and tasty. I ordered the wood fire pizza. Two of us ordered the burger, and the other ordered the Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian dish off of the Latin menu. Everything came out quickly. The service was really good. The wood fired pizza was pretty tasty, and probably the best thing we ordered. The crust and sauce were good. My wife didnt love the burger. She thought it lacked flavor. But I thought it was good. The Lomos Saltado was missing rice and a bit more seasoning, but it was OK. I would definitely come back for the pizza and wings though. The prices were great.
