Fast forward and we are selling the house and decided to use this gentleman's company again. On the day I reached him he was out a few hours later to give a bid. He used a ladder. Many contractors don't, which is surprising. The following day the estimate was received. It's best to obtain several estimates. This company had provided quality work but they are extremely expensive. Yes, I've heard the saying "You get what you pay for." However, when estimates are priced based on line by line items instead of per project; it can become unclear if someone is trying to take advantage of a project or is providing a high bid because they are too busy to accept a new project. Make sure when hiring a contractor you purchase the materials for the identical cost that the contractor would have purchased them, too.

After many years of seeing the wasted space of our dark and cluttered unfinished basement, we…read moredecided to build it out and unlock the potential for an open floor plan family room area. We talked with several contractors and received a few bids to complete the work. We chose Remodel Masters because of their detailed bid and competitive price. Another incentive to us was the 4-6 week timeline and able to start the project quicker than we anticipated. First day on site Randy and his crew laid out the walls and met with us to discuss what we could expect for the project. We had a few minor changes to the plan (added Tile for the bathroom and extended to the footprint a bit). They were flexible and very receptive to our design changes. The progress they made each day was impressive and when design questions or issues came up, Randy explained our options and any costs we may incur. Pricing for necessary and elective change order items were fair and well explained. In the end the project came in near our allowed budget number and completed in five weeks as promised. We are very pleased with our new space. From the framing to the tiling all of the work was done by the Remodel Master team. The level of detail that they put into their work was beyond our expectations.

I was apprehensive with who might be able to do justice and not ruin them. I took a shot with GKH furniture repair and restoration. I'd seen the reviews, and I now can say the reviews weren't exaggerated. When I first called Greg last November he was honest about the time fragment it would take. I unfortunately called during the holidays, which was not good. I later called in March, amd he told me then, sort of leveling with me that this sort of work takes time, like 4-6 months. It wasn't a bad wait and I was patient. The saying goes, "all good things come to those who wait," and it's true if you want a master to handle your antiques. I've sanded, stained wood before, and it's no easy task. It's a time-consuming endeavor, and I also didn't trust myself restoring antique bookcases. In retrospect the price was reasonable for the result. I now have an admirable place to keep my Ulysses, and restored bookcases my ancestors would be proud of.
