The location of these apartments is great. You are right in the middle of the "Golden Triangle" of museums. There are also plenty of tapas joints and a really good place to buy berlinas (doughnuts) nearby. There is a very small, and I mean very small, elevator that will lift you and your bags to your room.
Our room had a kitchenette, which would be perfect for someone staying for at least a week or anyone who got sick of tapas (which will happen very quickly, trust me).
The girl at the front desk was very nice and spoke Spanish to me the entire time, which was very nice. A lot of times, they detect that you are American and they start speaking in English to you, so it was nice that she kept speaking in Spanish to me. I understood everything she said up until we were in the elevator and she said she had one more important thing to tell us. She used a word that I had never heard before, so I asked her to explain in English. She said that the hot water is held in a boiler (the Spanish word I'd never heard before) and that it runs out very quickly. She didn't lie! It was like an Olympic sport to try to shower. I have never washed my hair so quickly in my life! We only had about 5-6 minutes of hot water for me and my hubby. Not a great way to start your day!! read more
