Woo Korean BBQ pleasantly surprised me with the quality of their meat -- everything was well-marinated and flavourful. They offer a good selection of cuts, and there happened to be a beer promotion during our visit, which was a nice bonus. It is on the pricier side, but overall we had a good time. This was a great restaurant that Google Maps recommended to us after a hike at Chilliwack, we were tired and hungry so we looked for the nearest Korean restaurant nearby as we reached Surrey. It was a BBQ place but we ordered cooked food as we were hungry, we had; Cheese Buldak which we enjoyed well as we love spicy food and the cheese added more flavour to the grilled chicken. LA Galbi, tender and well marinated, it was tasty. Mul-naengmyun, I was craving cold noodles as it was a hot summer when we visited Woo restaurant and this was recommended by the staff, a great amount of serving but I did not find it delicious, I think there was too much ice the broth was not tasty at all. Overall, Woo is added on our go to place in Surrey, which we went once again to try their bbq menu. Check them out, its worth a try. read more

Friday night and hungry, my boyfriend and I found our stomachs craving for some Korean food so we went to the recently opened Woo Korean BBQ. I was dreading the smokey BBQ enclosure but at Woo's the BBQ exhaust intake is from under the grill on the table, so there was very little smoke from the tables grilling away. The seating area is pretty large, so lots of capacity for small to large groups - we didnt have to wait at all. We were feeling too lazy to BBQ our food but from the plates we saw coming out, everything looked pretty fresh and delicious! Also, looked like they had lots of grill plates at the ready to exchange if yours get too burned. I ordered the Ddukbaegi Bulgogi ($12.95) which comes with Rice & Banchan. The banchan served was a kimchi mashed potato, kimchi cucumbers and bean sprouts. All the banchan served was really good and I especially enjoyed the kimchi cucumbers, spicy and crunchy. When I asked the waitress if the banchan were refillable, she smiled and said, "Yes, of course! You can eat eat eat lots!" (Note: Throughout the night she was super sweet and refilled our tea and made cute comments). My boyfriend's Jeyuk Deopbap ($10.95) came pretty quickly and it was a pretty decent portion despite what other reviewers said about smaller portions. It definitely filled up my boyfriend and he really enjoyed how Woo wasn't shy with the spice. Lots of tender pork and good flavours in this giant rice bowl. My Ddukbaegi Bulgogi eventually came and it was boiling hot - soup was bubbling and ingredients were steaming - YUM! Lots of tender and marinated beef amoung the enoki mushrooms, onions, green onions and glass noodles. The broth was super rich and delicious, not overly salty too. I just wish there was more glass noodles because they were so bouncy and delicious. Also, with the bowl of rice was more than enough to fill me up and the broth to warm me up. You know it's good when I'm already super excited to make our return for lunch because the variety and price looks like a good deal. Great Korean food and friendly staff. There is also a little call bell at each table if you need to alert staff but they were pretty attentive with a wave of a hand. Also, we stayed near closing time and the staff were so tidy and cleaning everything quite meticulously - a good sign in any restaurant. Overall, quite happy Woo Korean BBQ is at Grandview Corners and looking forward to more of their food. You should come try too - Can I get a Woo Woo! read more

It's definitely nice to see a Korean BBQ restaurant opened in South Surrey! We walked by on the opening day but it was too crowded and we suspected that it would be a long wait. The next day, we decided to make a reservation which was proven to be a really good idea. We tried a seafood pancake, a soup and BBQ meat. The portions were on the smaller side, but everything was very tasty. For the small dish Korean style appetizers, I've definitely had better ones with more variety before. The interior and seating area were comfortable. Servers were friendly. If you're craving for Korean food in South Surrey, do check them out since I find that Korean food choices can be scarce in the area. read more

It is very spacious and good for groups. However, the seats may be uncomfortable for some. Good eats at a reasonable prices. The staff hover over you to make sure you don't burn yourself. Or worse, get botulism from undercooked or mixing uncooked with cooked meat on the grill. Servings are a little on the small side but the quality is for sure there. We order a combo one size up. The family combination dinners are a little oddly configured - it's the Woo combo for 2, the pork lovers for 3, the beef lovers for 4. This place is pretty good. It's usually in the plaza so it's busy as hell but the food is nice and the interior isn't dirty or unkempt or anything. I understand the waitresses are mostly ESL but it's a little hard to communicate with them. I guess in order for you to know what the average dining experience is like at this place, i have to explain. So we got there during about stage 3 of 5 in peak hours, so there was a short wait but we found a table. We got some tea and some cola and the wait wasn't too slow. The food was really good (i ordered the ramen with a bowl of rice) and lasted for as long as i needed it to. According to some other people i was with, it wasn't filling enough and they ended up going to the fatburger next door. Overall i'd rate it a four, one star off because it isn't perfect yet. I've been here a couple times already and I really like it. It's a bit pricier but cleaner than most KBBQ restaurants I've been to. I came last night for a birthday and most of us bbq'd. Two out of our group that didn't bbq ordered chicken katsu, tteokbokki, and ramen. Their portions were massive. For my boyfriend and I, we ordered the pork belly, bulgogi, and beef short ribs. It was a LOT of food and we ended up sharing what we got because everything comes with sides. My favorite was easily the bulgogi. The staff are really friendly. I've been to this restaurant three times. First time it was good, second time they keep forgetting things (no water, no napkins, no side plates, and the soup that was supposed to come with my bibimbap)and last night was my third visit, and the quality just wasn't there. Everything was so bland! No flavour what so ever. The servers are friendly, and one male server was particularly attentive, but some servers don't speak enough English so if you ask for modification, it's always better to double check. My order was kind of messed up and we got stuff we didn't order.. I can't speak of BBQ meat quality but I find it a bit pricy compared to other Korean restaurants, but could be because of the location. I wouldn't mind trying one more time for lunch special, but won't be going back for dinner. read more

After we sat down at our table and looked through the menu, we decided to order. But for more than 5 mins, no body come to our table. So I decided to call a server. He came and told us our server will come here to help us. And then I saw the server came after another few minute, she went to another table and was helping them with the order! They came after us, and the server take order from them first? Even after I asked for help?? Then she left for the kitchen, delivery food to other tables and so on. Very good food and quick to remove empty plates, or at the very least ask. As usual the presentation was great and ordered food was brought out promptly. Also quick to respond to the call button. Normally really good servers, but today we had one that forgot my drink and water, though he brought the water in half way through the meal, never got my Ginger ale, but at least we didnt get charged for it. Never got the replacement napkins he said he was grabbing after accidentally dropping the first set when we were being seated, didnt end up getting them the entire meal. The place is usually busy. Sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seated. But overall good food, good service. The side dishes are good as well. Good for casual dining with friends, family, kids. We went to Woo Korean BBQ for Mother's day recently and overall the negatives outweighed the positives. Not only did we have to wait over 25 minutes to sit down (despite empty/and or dirty tables), the service was slow. For a busy night like Mother's Day a restaurant can plan on having more capable servers available. Once seated our server was helpful in regards to explaining some of the dishes as I didn't know too much about Korean food but I do like the element of BBQing at the table. We ordered and our sides dishes came pretty quickly but the waitress rushed off and I had to get up to ask for chopsticks. The meat for our BBQ followed soon after and again the server rushed off. Both servers neglected to turn on our BBQ. I had flag down the next available server to turn it on for us. The food itself was pretty good. The meat could have been leaner especially the chicken. The owner (I assumed the older gentleman was the owner) came around to ask how it was and I was pretty honest with a "it was ok". He apologized for the wait saying it was due to the Mother's Day rush. I simply couldn't agree with that statement and asked for the bill and we were out of there. He seemed like a sincere guy but his "we'll see you next time" will not happen. I have enjoy much better BBQ at other places so I will plan on going back there instead. read more

Purchased a pork combo and added beef brisket, tofu stew, chicken and corn. Beef brisket was $13 for about 5 thin (emphasize thin) cuts of beef. Pork portions included in combo were small. Rice bowls included were only half full and when we tried to order more rice they ran out. Spent $140 all in all and not that satisfied with either food or service. We were really excited to try this place out. We came in and got a great seat. Then when the water and the beer was ordered by my husband arrived, we were given a glass that had lipstick marks on the rim. We told the server and because some beer was poured into the glass we returned the beer and glass. The server came back with a glass we were not sure if it was a new glass or he just wiped the marks off, as my husband saw him wiping a glass. My husband decided to just drink out of the bottle instead, after the server seeing that my husband wasn't using the glass the server came back with a different glass slammed it on our table and removed the previous glass and walked away. When the food came out the server placed the food on the table and walked away without saying a word. The portions are skimpy.. really skimpy. An example is ordering the vegetable platter and getting one slice of onion and maybe 2 mushrooms and 1/5 of a zucchini and 1/10 of an eggplant .
