Woo Korean BBQ pleasantly surprised me with the quality of their meat -- everything was well-marinated and flavourful. They offer a good selection of cuts, and there happened to be a beer promotion during our visit, which was a nice bonus. It is on the pricier side, but overall we had a good time. The décor was fairly standard, and the service was solid throughout. read more

This was a great restaurant that Google Maps recommended to us after a hike at Chilliwack, we were tired and hungry so we looked for the nearest Korean restaurant nearby as we reached Surrey. It was a BBQ place but we ordered cooked food as we were hungry, we had; Cheese Buldak which we enjoyed well as we love spicy food and the cheese added more flavour to the grilled chicken. LA Galbi, tender and well marinated, it was tasty. Mul-naengmyun, I was craving cold noodles as it was a hot summer when we visited Woo restaurant and this was recommended by the staff, a great amount of serving but I did not find it delicious, I think there was too much ice the broth was not tasty at all. Overall, Woo is added on our go to place in Surrey, which we went once again to try their bbq menu. Check them out, its worth a try. read more

Fantastic all around! Made reservations for dinner- excellent service, delicious food- ordered Korean fried chicken (sweet and spicy and regular), hot pot, bulgogi chicken and beef, and a few other items. Everything was fantastic and flavorful. To top off the evening, our waitress surprised my 2 daughters with happy bday song and dessert for their bday dinner. Can't wait to go back! read more

If you're in the mood for some Korean bbq and you're in the south Surrey area, come here! The meats were delicious. The banchan were also very tasty. We ordered japchae and seafood pancake, as well as the selection of meats you can bbq. Service was great by the staff. Location has plenty of parking. And they have great ventilation in the restaurant, so it's not smoky inside at all when the tables are being used for bbq. We've been here a few times and it doesn't disappoint! read more

Tasty food with good service! The servers are all very kind, and always greeting customers.

Delicious food with large portions!!! Fantastic service! New side dishes appeared exactly when we ran out of them. They provided extra care and showed us new ways to prepare and enjoy the meats. Our new best place! read more

Food poisoning, got very bad diarrhea after eating there, not recommend. But the server is very friendly.

Friday night and hungry, my boyfriend and I found our stomachs craving for some Korean food so we went to the recently opened Woo Korean BBQ. I was dreading the smokey BBQ enclosure but at Woo's the BBQ exhaust intake is from under the grill on the table, so there was very little smoke from the tables grilling away. The seating area is pretty large, so lots of capacity for small to large groups - we didnt have to wait at all. We were feeling too lazy to BBQ our food but from the plates we saw coming out, everything looked pretty fresh and delicious! Also, looked like they had lots of grill plates at the ready to exchange if yours get too burned. I ordered the Ddukbaegi Bulgogi ($12.95) which comes with Rice & Banchan. The banchan served was a kimchi mashed potato, kimchi cucumbers and bean sprouts. All the banchan served was really good and I especially enjoyed the kimchi cucumbers, spicy and crunchy. When I asked the waitress if the banchan were refillable, she smiled and said, "Yes, of course! You can eat eat eat lots!" (Note: Throughout the night she was super sweet and refilled our tea and made cute comments). My boyfriend's Jeyuk Deopbap ($10.95) came pretty quickly and it was a pretty decent portion despite what other reviewers said about smaller portions. It definitely filled up my boyfriend and he really enjoyed how Woo wasn't shy with the spice. Lots of tender pork and good flavours in this giant rice bowl. My Ddukbaegi Bulgogi eventually came and it was boiling hot - soup was bubbling and ingredients were steaming - YUM! Lots of tender and marinated beef amoung the enoki mushrooms, onions, green onions and glass noodles. The broth was super rich and delicious, not overly salty too. I just wish there was more glass noodles because they were so bouncy and delicious. Also, with the bowl of rice was more than enough to fill me up and the broth to warm me up. You know it's good when I'm already super excited to make our return for lunch because the variety and price looks like a good deal. Great Korean food and friendly staff. There is also a little call bell at each table if you need to alert staff but they were pretty attentive with a wave of a hand. Also, we stayed near closing time and the staff were so tidy and cleaning everything quite meticulously - a good sign in any restaurant. Overall, quite happy Woo Korean BBQ is at Grandview Corners and looking forward to more of their food. You should come try too - Can I get a Woo Woo! read more

It's definitely nice to see a Korean BBQ restaurant opened in South Surrey! We walked by on the opening day but it was too crowded and we suspected that it would be a long wait. The next day, we decided to make a reservation which was proven to be a really good idea. We tried a seafood pancake, a soup and BBQ meat. The portions were on the smaller side, but everything was very tasty. For the small dish Korean style appetizers, I've definitely had better ones with more variety before. The interior and seating area were comfortable. Servers were friendly. If you're craving for Korean food in South Surrey, do check them out since I find that Korean food choices can be scarce in the area. read more

First visit, menu is an Asian mix of Japanese/Korean/Chinese, menu prices for DIY BBQ seem higher than you might pay in say Richmond/Burnaby. Staff was friendly and made an exception when I decided to order one BBQ item instead the minimum 2 for the in table BBQ to be turned on. (Narrow profit margins) DIY BBQ places want groups ($$$) unless you are just get an appetizer/snack there are other options in the strip mall read more

It was a great Korean restaurant. What we ordered: - Japchae - Gyeran Mari (Vegetables) - Haemul Pa Jeon (Seafood and green onion pancake) - Bulgogi Deopbap - BBQ: Chef's Special-Premium Galbi - BBQ: Chef's Special- Non-Marinated Galbi - Woo Special Salad Overall, the food was great and the price was not high compared to a lot of restaurants nearby. You get to eat a lot of good quality meats and other dishes. Japchae would be better it has more flavors. The seafood pancake was delicious. The quality of bbq meat was good. The service was decent. It is very spacious and good for groups. However, the seats may be uncomfortable for some. The bench seats adjacent to the wall were hard and were too high when taking into consideration the height of the tables. Recommend to try it out! read more

Bibimop is amazing! Every BBQ is marinated nicely, and is truly a lovely experience. My only issue is- we were standing there for 25 minutes INSIDE by the door!!! There were 9 tables available and I asked for a table for 7, and the wait was truly too long! I was ready to walk out but I wanted that Bibimop read more

Good eats at a reasonable prices. The staff hover over you to make sure you don't burn yourself. Or worse, get botulism from undercooked or mixing uncooked with cooked meat on the grill. Servings are a little on the small side but the quality is for sure there. We order a combo one size up. The family combination dinners are a little oddly configured - it's the Woo combo for 2, the pork lovers for 3, the beef lovers for 4. Nice if they offered mixed meat combo's for each number of guests. This is now on our rotation for regular restaurants. read more

This place is pretty good. It's usually in the plaza so it's busy as hell but the food is nice and the interior isn't dirty or unkempt or anything. I understand the waitresses are mostly ESL but it's a little hard to communicate with them. I guess in order for you to know what the average dining experience is like at this place, i have to explain. So we got there during about stage 3 of 5 in peak hours, so there was a short wait but we found a table. We got some tea and some cola and the wait wasn't too slow. The food was really good (i ordered the ramen with a bowl of rice) and lasted for as long as i needed it to. According to some other people i was with, it wasn't filling enough and they ended up going to the fatburger next door. Overall i'd rate it a four, one star off because it isn't perfect yet. I do hope they improve over time. read more

The services are ridiculous.. I have never seen a waitress having the cocky attitude to serve customers..

The food was over priced with very little meat, 2-5 pieces of meat (less than 2 cm). The lead waitress/owner (?) demanded tips in the end. We said we were not happy with the food. The owner said the ingredients were listed (fine print), like it was my fault that I didn't read well. We ordered Bulgogi (Marinated Beef) and Ddukbaegi Bulgogi. The ingredients were almost the same. Very disappointed. read more

I've been here a couple times already and I really like it. It's a bit pricier but cleaner than most KBBQ restaurants I've been to. I came last night for a birthday and most of us bbq'd. Two out of our group that didn't bbq ordered chicken katsu, tteokbokki, and ramen. Their portions were massive. For my boyfriend and I, we ordered the pork belly, bulgogi, and beef short ribs. It was a LOT of food and we ended up sharing what we got because everything comes with sides. My favorite was easily the bulgogi. The staff are really friendly. We didn't have ANY communication issues like some of the other reviewers. Our waitress was also so helpful and accommodating with my grandmother who has some food sensitivities. read more

Very poor service. Waiter never return to check on how we are doing. Beef ribs is tough so we could not chew it! Not returning! read more

I am happy to have a Korean restaurant in South Surrey. Clean table and dinnerware, kind staff Bit pricy but good place go again. read more

I've been to this restaurant three times. First time it was good, second time they keep forgetting things (no water, no napkins, no side plates, and the soup that was supposed to come with my bibimbap)and last night was my third visit, and the quality just wasn't there. Everything was so bland! No flavour what so ever. The servers are friendly, and one male server was particularly attentive, but some servers don't speak enough English so if you ask for modification, it's always better to double check. My order was kind of messed up and we got stuff we didn't order.. I can't speak of BBQ meat quality but I find it a bit pricy compared to other Korean restaurants, but could be because of the location. I wouldn't mind trying one more time for lunch special, but won't be going back for dinner. read more

Food is average and very small portion. The service is the main reason I gave 3 star. It was very busy while I arrived. We wrote down our name and waited. After we sat down at our table and looked through the menu, we decided to order. But for more than 5 mins, no body come to our table. So I decided to call a server. He came and told us our server will come here to help us. And then I saw the server came after another few minute, she went to another table and was helping them with the order! They came after us, and the server take order from them first? Even after I asked for help?? Then she left for the kitchen, delivery food to other tables and so on. Then the first guy came back and helped us with the order. The food comes out very quick. (Cuz it's Korean bbq, it should be quick) but overall had a bad experience and will not come back again. read more

I really like the restaurant. My favorite is Galbi, juicy and tender. The staffs are nice and warm, always smile. I have been there serval times and will keep going. read more

Very good food and quick to remove empty plates, or at the very least ask. As usual the presentation was great and ordered food was brought out promptly. Also quick to respond to the call button. Normally really good servers, but today we had one that forgot my drink and water, though he brought the water in half way through the meal, never got my Ginger ale, but at least we didnt get charged for it. Never got the replacement napkins he said he was grabbing after accidentally dropping the first set when we were being seated, didnt end up getting them the entire meal. Overall great place to eat and i would still come back. read more

Ordered a pork katsu pick up, didn't come with rice, and when I called back to them, they said the kitchen forgot about it, ask if I can go back to pick it up.... but later on, I think is the owner, told me that they will offer me a free pork katsu for my next order or visit. I went to the restaurant next day, before I pay the bill, the waitress told me either $1 discount because he rice is small or give give me a rice on the day. Such a joke read more

The place is usually busy. Sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seated. But overall good food, good service. The side dishes are good as well. Good for casual dining with friends, family, kids. Korean BBQ is not the only option here, there is more on the menu. The Japchae is really good. read more

This was our first Korean experience and we liked every dish we ordered. We were a party of 4 and we will all return in the future.

We went to Woo Korean BBQ for Mother's day recently and overall the negatives outweighed the positives. Not only did we have to wait over 25 minutes to sit down (despite empty/and or dirty tables), the service was slow. For a busy night like Mother's Day a restaurant can plan on having more capable servers available. Once seated our server was helpful in regards to explaining some of the dishes as I didn't know too much about Korean food but I do like the element of BBQing at the table. We ordered and our sides dishes came pretty quickly but the waitress rushed off and I had to get up to ask for chopsticks. The meat for our BBQ followed soon after and again the server rushed off. Both servers neglected to turn on our BBQ. I had flag down the next available server to turn it on for us. The food itself was pretty good. The meat could have been leaner especially the chicken. The owner (I assumed the older gentleman was the owner) came around to ask how it was and I was pretty honest with a "it was ok". He apologized for the wait saying it was due to the Mother's Day rush. I simply couldn't agree with that statement and asked for the bill and we were out of there. He seemed like a sincere guy but his "we'll see you next time" will not happen. I have enjoy much better BBQ at other places so I will plan on going back there instead. read more

First visit and found the menu to offer lots of full meals or select your own combinations. The waitress was very helpful in explaining the dishes. Everything came out hot and tasty. Mostly large group seating, so sat with two lovely ladies, as I was solo. I would go back soon and sample more of the menu. read more

Tried a couple of appetizers there with my friends and then 3 different meats to bbq. Portions were decent in my opinion and the prices are pretty reasonable. The service could definitely use some more work as we had to wait for a long time before anyone showed up at our table. The sides I think came with every meat but we only got it once and had to ask for them again once we ran out. Will be back again once they are a bit settled. read more

Small portions for the cost of food. Server didn't even explain what was being put on the table. No follow up on drinks. Had to ask twice for water, then no follow up to see if we needed more water. Purchased a pork combo and added beef brisket, tofu stew, chicken and corn. Beef brisket was $13 for about 5 thin (emphasize thin) cuts of beef. Pork portions included in combo were small. Rice bowls included were only half full and when we tried to order more rice they ran out. Spent $140 all in all and not that satisfied with either food or service. Save yourselves some $$, and go to another bbq spot. For that money, there are so many other places with better quality food and much more attentive service. read more

Clean and modern looking inside with good service. The food was flavourful, high quality and nicely plated. The portion sizes are a bit on the smaller side, but it gave us an opportunity to have more variety. We left with full belly's at a surprisingly reasonable price. We would came back again read more

Very inauthentic Korean BBQ. Service was great, the staff was extremely polite and nice, but unfortunately, if you've experienced good Korean cuisine before, this isn't the best place for you. The prices are high for what the food is worth, and it's tastes are more Western style. read more

I would score negative if I can. The worst service we ever have. When we wait at the front, Three servers with only three tables of guest but no one come to us for five minutes and then we asked politely to sit away from the door cos it was freezing outside. The male server answered a simply word: no! What a Korean restaurant!! read more

We were really excited to try this place out. We came in and got a great seat. Then when the water and the beer was ordered by my husband arrived, we were given a glass that had lipstick marks on the rim. We told the server and because some beer was poured into the glass we returned the beer and glass. The server came back with a glass we were not sure if it was a new glass or he just wiped the marks off, as my husband saw him wiping a glass. My husband decided to just drink out of the bottle instead, after the server seeing that my husband wasn't using the glass the server came back with a different glass slammed it on our table and removed the previous glass and walked away. When the food came out the server placed the food on the table and walked away without saying a word. I am only giving 2 stars because the food that we ordered was good but we had only decided to order appies and to leave right away because the service was very very disappointing!!! read more

Delicious Korean BBQ! Come here all the time for lunch and dinner; very convenient location as well. The menu is a little limited but the quality of the food is absolutely amazing. The staff are very friendly too, the owner cooked our bbq for us! The inside is very clean and has a lot of natural light. My favourite to order are the hot stone bowl stews that they have, always so delicious and savoury! Must try! read more

The portions are skimpy.. really skimpy. An example is ordering the vegetable platter and getting one slice of onion and maybe 2 mushrooms and 1/5 of a zucchini and 1/10 of an eggplant . We were a family of 4 and the sides for the meat they brought were ridiculously small and we had ordered many dishes . Simple common sense to adjust for how many guests and for lots of dishes . The food was tasty but took the kids to a&w after as they were still hungry !!!! read more
