Dr. WONG performed my root canal on one of my molars that I had a deep filling in at my dentist office that ultimately just wasn't doing well.
The procedure was amazing and if I needed another root canal (hopefully not) I would walk right back into this office. I have a long history of anxiety attacks when it comes to getting dental procedures done due to trauma as a child. I cannot do needles in my mouth and if you have a hard time with that as well then this is the office for you. I felt absolutely nothing. They used a numbing spray that worked fast and right hand on the Bible itself I had the most painless and ultimately undetectable experience getting numbed up and worked on. Dr. Wong was great, respectful, thorough and the young lady who assisted him during my procedure was prompt, on task, and very kind when it came to dealing with me. Yeah I'm an adult with dental anxiety but to go through a procedure without medication or sedation is a true miracle in my case. I had my procedure yesterday and I understand that even if they did everything flawlessly my canal can go south so my review will not be based on the ultimate outcome with this tooth. 7 years of avoiding dentists, I basically asked for this. I did find that they only put in temporary fillings after a root canal? And then your dentist will go in and fill/cap it? This was my first one and I didn't understand that but I was headed back to my dentist anyways for a deep cleaning so... I felt I didn't need to ask questions but just do what I was told. They're the professionals right?
As for the office staff they did check my insurance thoroughly to make sure that I was covered completely before I went in for my root canal. During my first appointment (which was a consult) I did have to pay $100.00 for my 3D X-ray to see all the things in my mouth. I understand that no insurance covers that and I was happy to pay it for the health of my teeth. They were very kind and to my surprise they (I want to say the woman's name was Meredith, I'll feel really bad if I get that wrong) called me by name the second I walked in the door and I literally had been there only one time before weeks and weeks earlier. You'd assume they'd know because I had an appointment, but it truly was because they knew who I was by my face and that's always something I appreciate with doctors offices. I believe around 9:30am this morning I did receive a phone call to see how I was doing because I was supposed to call with an update and I honestly forgot. At least they don't forget about you. I would aim for 4 stars because I'm not excited about having that tooth drilled into again, but that wouldn't be fair really. read more
