Saw some IG reels so we decided to give it a try this weekend. The restaurant is not big but very clean. We arrived after 12:30 and it's packed. We waited less than 30 min as they estimated, not bad. I got the Classic Beef (pho) and my husband got the curry pork chop (over rice). We both enjoyed our food very much especially the pho was al dente. The wait staff is friendly. A little kid at the other table was acting out, the waitress was so patient trying to calm her down, so sweet. Had high hopes. The smell of pho broth outside the establishment brought us back for dinner. We did take out and when I walked in to pick up it smelled authentic with a chic look. Here's where everything went south: The service was quick. My order was ready. The bag was nice. I had second thoughts walking out immediately. Maybe I didn't appreciate it because after all it was Princeton. The banh mi was small. The banh mi was weak. The pickled carrots and radish were just not pickled enough. And WHO THE PHUCK rolls lettuce in their Banh Mi?!?!? did The Bo Kho sauce left a lot to be desired. The shaking beef was less than shaking. The broken rice was definitely not broken. They don't advertised as much but for a Viet plate. It was expected. And for $20 all you get was beef and rice. Nothing else. Not even garnish. Whatever. I am Vietnamese that grew up with many aunties making the most amazing to the most pungent and delicious meals growing up. As an adult, I made it a mission to visit Vietnamese restaurants at any location I go to whether it's for work or my kids traveling team. This place had all Chinese servers. Not a big deal but a red flag to the awful food that came out. The two stars are bc service was fine otherwise 1 star! Summer roll - goi cuon - not wrapped tightly and the noodle was wet. No herbal veggie like a mint leaf or chives. Just some sliced carrots and lettuce. Bo luc lac - way too much bbq sauce that was overpowering. I didn't bother to pour over the fish sauce bc it would be way too much sauce that contradicts. No Vietnamese flavors at all unless they counting the fish sauce Bun Bo hue -Watered down broth. This was part of a large complex that served authentic Vietnamese dishes. The place as a whole was small with a few tables to sit at. There were a lot of take-out orders I saw while dining in. There was a lot to choose from ranging from pho to banh mi to buns. The prices were very reasonable too. The service was extremely friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. For starters, the rooster wings ($8.50), mango salad with shrimp ($13), and Viet tacos ($12) were ordered. There were six wings to an order and had a chili flavoring. They came out hot and very crispy. The wings were of appropriate size, and the chili was there, but not overpowerful. The chicken was tasty. The salad had spiralized mango and cucumber with about a dozen shrimp. I could not believe how much shrimp was present. The dressing was light but needed and the shrimp chips provided a nice crunch. The Viet tacos consisted of ground pork, shrimp, a coconut rice crepe, bean sprouts, pickled vegetables, and mint garnished with a fried shallot. This also came with a side of salsa. There were two overstuffed tacos. This was solid. It was a little overwhelming on how much filling there was, but it was very flavorful especially when the fresh salsa was added. For an entrée, I had the classic Vietnamese banh mi ($12.50). It came with smoked ham, Vietnamese charcuterie, minced pork, marrow pate, and mayo. It was also topped with pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro, and cucumber. This was solid. There was not as much filling as I thought there would be, especially after having the tacos. I was most impressed by the bread. It was hard, but soft in the middle and was the perfect choice for this type of sandwich. All the flavors seemed fresh, especially the pickled vegetables, which were needed. I also tried the pork pho. It was very tasty while everything being cooked to perfection. This is one of my favorite restaurants! It is not super large inside, but I never wait long for a table or for my takeout anyway. I'm not sure about the authenticity of the food, but I find it all to be delicious. The staff is super on top of it and they make dining super enjoyable. TLDR: cozy little store with awesome staff and surprising hits Wonder Pho is small but the modern wood finishes and decor give it a cozy feel. The staff are all incredibly friendly (way beyond the norm) and are very knowledgeable about the food. The namesake pho is solid with a perfectly sweet-savory spiced broth and generous toppings. I also tried the Satay broth noodles which featured a wonderfully nutty and savory soup. The real standout is the spring rolls. Standard takeout spring rolls don't hold a candle to these. The little bundles of meat and veggies are wrapped in rice paper and deep fried giving it a shattering lattice exterior and juicy interior. Paired with the condiments the rolls are a delightful sensation that I may end up ordering for takeout. Our meal was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be frequenting Wonder Pho. read more

I have a lot of experience with Vietnamese food, and I think I made a mistake not ordering Pho. My noodle and pork dish Bun Cha was not very interesting. A plate (not a bowl) with iceberg lettuce, eat overcooked rice noodles, 2 small spring rolls and a lot of sliced pork accompanied by fish sauce and some other sauce. On a plate it was impossible to mix everything together which is how I've always eaten this dish along with shredded carrots, cilantro and white radish which were not part of this restaurant's presentation. I rated the meal as fair. It's a cute little place and obviously popular. I'll definitely try the pho next time. read more

I actually just came back from Vietnam and I was pleasantly surprised how good this place was! The pho was delicious and the wings! I enjoyed my short ribs with fish sauce - I asked for that sauce in addition to the salad dressing ;) it enhanced the plate so much more! read more

I ordered a brisket banh mi and spring rolls. I had some delivery issues and my order wasn't picked up by a driver for over an hour so the time it got to me it was cold and soggy. I don't blame the restaurant for that. The banh mi included inedible pieces of brisket that seemed old. There was so much fat and cartilage and the fat was hardened as if it wasn't freshly cooked. The sandwich shouldn't have been packaged with the veggies inside for delivery reasons because the bread was soggy and inedible by the time it got to me. The brisket was also very bland. The spring rolls were good despite being cold. Next time I might order pho to give another chance. read more

Dined here on a whim (aka didn't look the place up or anything), so didn't really know what to expect. So, let's just start with the good: - Cute decor and ambience - Attentive service And that's pretty much it for us. I've grown up eating a ton of pho (both traditional and fusion, the everyday spots and more "high end" shops), and there are two things that all good pho places have in common: - The broth (regardless of whatever base it is) needs to be a flavor bomb. - The bowl comes out HOT. Like enough steam to exfoliate your pores when you lean over it. Everything else can vary and comes down to personal preference. When we visited, we ordered spring rolls (veg), two bowls of pho (Wonder Pho, Classic Beef), and Vietnamese iced coffee. Spring Rolls (veg): Wasn't fried long enough. The filling also felt very doughy and under seasoned (even after using the sauce and accompaniments). Both bowls of pho came out at slightly above lukewarm temperatures--barely cooked the beef (I always ask for the meat on the side). Already suspect, but, hey, maybe a slightly off day or something. The broth might still be good! Nope. It lacked a lot of flavor. For something that was touted as having been cooked for over 10 hours (implying it had enough time to develop flavors, etc.), it was extremely disappointing. The best part of the broth was the smell, but that just made the lack of flavors even more devastating. Also, personal gripe, didn't like how thin the jalapeño peppers were sliced. As for the Vietnamese iced coffee... lol. We make this at home, and have it all the time, so maybe our expectations for it are also a lot higher. It just wasn't right. Maybe it was the beans used or the ratio or something, but it was mediocre at best... and that's being generous. Ultimately, don't think we will be returning; the flavors promised just didn't deliver. So excited about this Vietnamese restaurant in Princeton! The taro chips were yum, spring and fried rolls were delicious. The brussel sprouts were not particularly Vietnamesey, but were cooked & seasoned perfectly. The lemongrass pork bun and wonder pho were delicious. The traditional bahn mi was the only thing that was westernized. It was tasty and fresh, but bahn mi should not have mayo. It should be stuffed with Vietnamese cold cuts, pickled carrots & radish, cilantro, pate and jalapenos. And if you like pandan, don't miss the ice cream. The restaurant is small and cozy, with tables and booths that seat 2-4 guests and dark green tile walls. The back walls are white with gray tile lower halves and they also have sconces and a triangular hat on them as well. A large banner that has the restaurant's mascot (a living bowl of pho with a face, arms, and legs) can be seen on the green wall and the banner says "In Pho We Trust. In Wonder We Trust". Menu screens hang above it too. We ordered the following: A4 - rooster wings (6 pieces)- this was a little sweet. The wings were large and Hubs thinks that Korean fried chicken has competition. Daughter and I loved it and thought it was delicious, nice and crispy. X1 - viet Banh xeo -When they first brought it over, I thought they brought it to the wrong table because it looked like tacos. Then, I realized it was banh xeo. LOL. The banh xeo had a coconut taste and was very crispy. It reminded me of tacos. Daughter and I loved this entree. Hubs was expecting it to be a quesadilla, a little bit bigger but it was a nice surprise. We were surprised to see pico de Gallo with it. C3- bun rieu- Daughter liked it a lot. She thought it tasted very different because it was vegan style. H2 - classic Vietnamese banh mi- daughter liked it and thought it was good. Hubs thought it was almost perfect. Bread was perfect and the ratio of the vegetables and meat was great, but it was missing jalapeños. The restaurant packed up as we were eating and there was a wait by the time we were done. First off, the place is very small and we sat on the right side of the restaurant so each time the front door opened, we were exposed to cold air. This experience would not be very nice in the winter months. Service was good and fast. We ordered the summer roll and what we got was noodle (bun) with shrimp in a thin roll. Where are the lettuce and herbs? Next, I ordered Bun Bo Hue whose broth (the most important part of this dish) had no taste. My husband ordered plain pho and experienced the same. I honestly Wonder if this was pho. I've eaten pho all over the country, even at an airport and it was still decent. Unfortunately, this place was far from authentic. They might have been better off starting with a pre-packaged spice mix and building from there. I agree with another review that the broth should be served very hot. That way the bean sprouts and basil can steam properly. Instead, the vegetables, what little there were came out cold and wet. The iced coffee if you could call it that, was also disappointing. I've had better instant Vietnamese ice coffee from a packet that you add water to. It was weak, flavorless, and lacked enough condensed milk. Even after asking for more, it didn't improve. Also, Vietnamese iced coffee should not be mixed with crushed ice, it's not a slushy. Service didn't help the experience. The staff had an attitude from the moment we walked in, and our server seemed to lack basic customer service skills. Lastly, $19 for pho is high unless you're in a major city, and even then, it's usually less. Honestly, I've had better pho at an airport and never questioned what I was eating. Having the logo all over the plates, cups and wall was cute but it does not make the experience better. Perhaps a chef that is experienced in the cuisine you are serving and the manager may want to share tips and tricks on how to properly treat customer from the time they walk in to leaving. read more

Wonder Pho is a solid new addition, but it's still finding its footing. The broth was clean and comforting, but the short rib was overly fatty and ended up dominating (and dulling) the bowl. The banh mi didn't impress and lands in "fine" territory--nothing remarkable--but the bread itself was excellent. The highlight for me was the fresh rolls (spring and summer): bright herbs and good crunch, though the dipping sauce could use more punch, so they felt a bit underwhelming overall. Service is genuinely warm and attentive, and the room was packed on my visit--always a good sign. Given how busy it gets, a few more 4-6-top tables would help. I'm rooting for this place, I'll be back to see how they evolve. Good addition to the Princeton area. read more

I don't drink coffee often, but fall in love with this Vietnamese coffee (hot) after the first sip; summer role is the must-order for me every time I eat in a Pho place, you can tell the freshness of the ingredients. What I like most is the broth of the Wonder Pho, it has all of the flavors that you are expecting from a pho and it is not oily nor thick like some of the places I have tried before (you do not need to drink a lot of water afterwards!), overall this is definitely a place I will go back again to try some new things that I have not tried in other pho places. read more
