What a treasure trove of incredible books, all at great prices!…read more Friends of Library groups are such an incredible force and I'm so inspired by the Friends of Webster Library for running this wonderful store, the proceeds of which benefit the Webster library and other east side branches. I stopped by one afternoon and could have spent all afternoon browsing! I was lucky enough to snag a few copies of Demon Slayer, a few Julia Turshen cookbooks, a Christmas movie, and more! The prices were great - I don't think anything was more than a few dollars. The staff was really friendly and pointed out a second Julia Turshen book when they saw one in my pile. I'll definitely be visiting the Book Cellar again! To enter the Book Cellar, enter the library branch and walk straight ahead. You'll see a sign that will guide you down the stairs to the book shop. What a lovely store!…read more Ms. Wilson, the store owner, was so sweet and charming. The energy she radiated was palpable. She's a reason alone to come and visit this bookstore. Outside of the awesome and welcoming owner, there's also a good selection of books. My personal favorite part of the store was all the African art on sale. I badly wanted the round mask in the picture, but didn't have room in my suitcase for it! Can't wait to visit this gem again.

They both called and texted to let me know it had arrived. The service is extremely helpful. Nestled among some charming boutiques, restaurants, and specialty shops, Bronx River Books offers a good range of classic, contemporary, and local authors. It is well-stocked besides neatly organized and stacked. It has easily become one of my favorites stops when in town.

It's like stepping into a different universe where the best masterpieces written or translated to English are waiting for you to be discovered. I always encounter all my favorite authors and know I'm in good company and can trust to find the next amazing read. I discovered many new and exciting authors there like Yaa Gyasi "Homegoing" and Imbolo Mbue "Behold the Dreamers" and Ngugi Wa Thiong'o "Wizard of the Crow". Our server was absent the entire night and I had to actively search for the staff to ask them about our order (multiple times). They finally delivered our second bottle after an hour and half of waiting; And then never saw our server again for the rest of the night. The bottom floor was pretty much empty until midnight when they finally changed the DJ and the music got better. Maybe this was just a bad night, but I don't feel like going back. Bottle service was definitely not worth it and service was horrible.
