I would wholeheartedly recommend this for adult or child art classes. I drive 40 minutes to take…read moreSharon's classes. I'm continually impressed by the growth of all her students (with widely varying levels of experience) in a variety of mediums (acrylic, watercolor, pastels, pencil...) and techniques. I had absolutely no art experience and am amazed at the art I've created with her. She knows her stuff - she has taught at the college level, and her awesome paintings hang around. And you can't beat the price for her 2-hour classes with individual attention. One caveat: if you need structure, this probably isn't for you. Everyone is working on their own project and their is no strict "syllabus" to work through. I've come to really enjoy that

From the owner: Looking for art classes in Cincinnati? We now offer art classes for preschool, elementary, high…read moreschool, and older students. Our Cincinnati art classes are offered after school, evenings, and weekends with ongoing registration. We specialize in art lessons, drawing lessons, painting classes, painting lessons, perspective training, and mastery of color in our Anderson Township studio near Mt. Washington on the East side of Cincinnati, Ohio. Using a step-by-step method, students of all ages are taught basic drawing and painting skills which result in art work that is both realistic, attractive, and worth of showing. Our art students experience the excitement and fulfillment of creating art as they are taught on an individualized basis according to their personal skills and abilities. Each student moves ahead at his or her own pace. This enables our students to attain the artistic "tools" they need to create art for the rest of their lives. Our goal is to make art lessons accessible and affordable and we believe that a strong foundation of real hands-on skills will enable students to eventually follow any artistic path they choose. The student explores drawing and painting mediums such as charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, pencil, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, and oils in a creative and fun environment. These are real art lessons. We teach drawing and painting skills: perspective, composition, value, line, form, color, and style.

Not overly pleased with my visit but love the shop and crafty ideas!…read more I've been scouring the internet for local DIY kits and AR's Covid friendly in-store pick up kits won the search. Slightly pricey but fair enough, I was excited to order a mini plank for Christmas. The pick up process is non-existent... I privately messaged the Facebook page to learn the process. AR could definitely upgrade this experience by including pick up instructions in the confirmation email. I was given a list of times I could pick up my order. Waited a few days and headed into the shop... nothing was prepared. I had a very small slice of time to pick up my order and unfortunately it took far too long. I would very highly recommend you call ahead to confirm to your order is in fact ready. Sadly, I was hoping for some cute gift packaging... maybe some tissue paper or literally anything besides just the wood and paints. My piece of plank wood does not sit flat and the handles were different than pictured. Overall, an extremely "meh" experience but the ladies who work there are super nice and that's important.

Awesome way to spend a Saturday!…read more A+R Workshop is a DIY workshop with various projects to choose from... Personalized signs to decorate your house, pillows, yard signs, etc. Think of all the cutest stuff at Home Goods but with your personal touch. Visit their website to pick a workshop to attend. Each workshop has a selection of projects for you to choose from. You enter your name, year, or whatever personal info they need to set up your project. When you arrive all of your supplies and your stencil is waiting for you. You spend the next couple hours working on your creation with the guidance of the owner or other employees, and at the end you have an awesome new piece of art to take home. I am not at all creative but they make it fool proof! The owner Katie and her mom were running the show the afternoon I attended my first workshop. I was nervous to mess something up, but between them and my friend who had attended a previous workshop I was able to create a personalized sign that will go perfect in my living or dining room. (It definitely helped that I was with someone who knew what they were doing. My only critique is that there were times I had to wait for direction or wasn't super clear what I was doing. If you're more patient than me and not afraid to ask questions though, it's really not an issue.) I can't wait to come back and create something for my daughter's room or gifts for my mom and sister. Everything is so cute and I want to do all the projects! I'll be back! Oh yeah, and it's BYOB. :) My friend and I split of bottle of cider as we worked. Seriously, perfect Saturday!

The barn is a local landmark and part of Mariemont's history. Purchased by Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati and converted into a venue for local arts and an art gallery. The concert was held upstairs (elevator or stairs accessible) in a barn loft setting - refined rustic. The acoustics were great and plenty of seating options available (as well as bathrooms). Check out their calendar of events and find an excuse to do some exploring yourself!

I came to check out the center to see the local art as I'm always looking for new places to check out art in Cincinnati. The center is in the Mariemont neighborhood, it started as The Woman's Art Club many years ago and has evolved into a neighborhood cultural arts center. This Saturday there were two art shows in the main gallery space, an art critique going on in one room, a kids art class with Cincinnati Art Academy Instructors in another room and upstairs in the recently opened barn event space was the official ArtsWave event an anime, magna art class with art fans of all ages. I met the Director of the center who said they're testing out the new space upstairs, it can be rented out for meetings, events and looking to serve the community more having more space in the center. While you're in Mariemont come check out the the Woman's Art Club Cultural Art center and explore.
