Talbert House Review First off, let me say I did appreciate the thought of continuing my career with Talbert House. However, I stepped away from my position with Talbert House the same week I began training due to unsafe/hazardous work conditions. The people I met, who were supposed to be my coworkers were amazing people and very helpful for the few days that I was there. Unfortunately, I discovered during my second day on site that the building I was in had a bedbug infestation that I had to learn about through clients and staff members. I was informed while trying to reach my office, not to lean on the walls and that I could not utilize my office (that my boss just asked me to work in 5 mins prior) because they would be bombing for a bedbug infestation. I was not made aware of this during my interview, trainings, or the previous day that I was on site. At the same time, I found out that the building did not have proper ventilation as well. I reached out to my boss to let her know I was uncomfortable continuing my training in this building and she let me know to go across the hall because they have not had bedbug problems. I informed her that I would not be returning and she did not reply at all. I reached out to HR two separate times via email to let them know my concerns and about my resignation there's been no response. I received a text message a few days later that my direct deposit information had been changed without my authorization. I did not receive my check on time. Instead, I had to reach out to payroll who informed me they never received my direct deposit information (even though I had a message that it was changed from my bank account information to someone else's/ I set up my direct deposit a week prior to starting training). I asked to speak with HR and left a voicemail about my recent discrepancies and was still ignored. This is my experience with Talbert House. Fortunately, I was able to return home, shower and wash my clothes. That is not the same luxury that the people in the short term facility on Burnet have. I am disappointed to learn that they were not able to attend to the bedbug situation before it became an infestation. I am also saddened about the ventilation in the building and look forward to their move so that the people they serve can have somewhere comfortable to sleep at night and safe enough to be during the day. This short term facility is for people who have recently been incarcerated and are working on being re-introduced to the community, they also struggle with either addiction or mental health issues. I was hoping working for Talbert house would be a part of the solution not a part of the problem. Due to their situation and most of them needing to rebuild as they return to the community. Most will be taking the bugs with them when they leave and more than likely will not have the extra money for treatment once they are settled in their new place. I am also extremely disappointed at the lack of communication. I expected better. read more

I worked at ccc Lebanon and I know this place is a joke. the turn over rate is very high. no one wants to work weekends and holidays and have to give piss test and 200 pat downs a day. and risk hep and aids and no breaks or lunch and all for 10 hr. even if you are the person that cares and do it because you love to help people like me, they will stab you in the back. the exe. people are morons. read more

Great place, friendly staff and clean building. I have been coming here for a number of months and I am quite pleased with the services that they have been providing. I recommend this facility to any and everyone that qualifies for this type of housing. The residents really liven up the place with their jokes and antics. Is site is a half way house for adults with mental illness focusing on helping adults with mental illness with independent living skills and helping them get ready to move into an apartment or group home. The staff monitor medications and provide coaching as well as facilitate groups. Residents can stay from 90-120 days to help get stable on medication and in a routine. The facility provides 3 meals a day, access to laundry, cable, showers and a bed with linen. The room and board fee is 66% of the residents income but if they have no income it is not a barrier for getting in the program. Room and board is based on income so no income means no fee! It's a great place that helps some of our most underserved citizens! The program has gone by a few names I've it's 30 year history but is currently under the Talbert House umbrella. read more

I've gone here more than once over the 5 or 6 years I've lived in Cincinnati. This place is garbage. They should be called community disservice. Their therapists don't know what they are talking about, they are desperate to get any doctors in. I had a normal doctor who put me on xanax and he got transfered randomly - with no warning. they brought in a pediatrician nurse...im 31...he said he was sooo suspicious of people abusing medecine so the dumb f prescribed me ritalin and took me off xanax. he prescribed me a stimulant and took me off my anti anxiety medecine. needless to say i was stressed out. i tore up the ritalin subscription. the people dont listen. they are relentlessly uncooperative. they treat you like an animal and even if you are lucky to get a "good" therapist, the best you'll get out of it is cathartic. read more
