Today is my first visit with my mother, and the level of service she is receiving has stood out immensely.First, I want to commend three of your aides: Janelle, Z, and Sadie. My mother Ms Bonnie is currently dealing with an upset stomach, requiring frequent changes. These three young ladies have been coming back and forth to her room continuously. They are remarkably gentle, compassionate, and professional in getting her cleaned up and fresh.Second, I want to recognize her speech therapist, Heather (affectionately known there as "Hot Dog"). Heather has been incredibly caring and helpful during meal times. She has been closely monitoring my mother to ensure she can swallow her food safely, while working hard to identify her best needs and figure out the exact eating level plan she should be on.In this field, a lot of places do not provide this level of care, but these four individuals truly stand out. I want to ensure their hard work is formally recognized by management and placed in their personnel files. They are an absolute credit to your facility. While I know that this is still very early in her stay, I am praying for continued success here at your establishment.Sincerely,Leslie P

Most of the staff was very apathetic (especially the night staff). I was almost given the wrong medication a few times. Fortunately for me, I know my medication very well. I have severe anxiety. My panic attacks were commonly ignored. One night, I cried and borderline screamed the entire night (I didn't sleep). The nurse ignored me, even though she could have talked me down or given me a Xanax, which I am prescribed. It was my first night there, and I was scared. I went to a different rehab facility (Encompass) after my stroke, and had very few panic attacks. The staff was always able to talk me down. Some nights, I waited as long as an hour to use the restroom. I had alarms on my bed (pretty standard). I eventually started setting off my alarm after 20 minutes, so the staff would come in and I could use the restroom. I am not a difficult patient. I never had problems like these anywhere else (hospital, other rehab). Don't send your family or yourself here! It was terrible.

An absolute joke. If you care about yourself or a loved one, do yourself a favor and run as far…read morefrom this deplorable business as fast as you can. I was a patient here for roughly one month. Within minutes of arriving, the head honcho CEO (and top c*cksucker) pulled me into his office where he quickly determined I would fail, repeatedly mocked me as I cried, and forced me to say things that were completely untrue, for example that I hate myself and want to kill myself. The conditions on the day to day were not much better. The food was all preservatives and carbs and cheese. So much cheese. I have never eaten so unhealthy in my life. The classes were often just recess, as we'd go outside and chain smoke and watch a few guys play cornhole. The employee dispensing medication never put on gloves and touched every single pill. Every time. It was disgusting. I was unfortunately discharged for reasons that were never made clear. While everyone else discussed their plans beyond the facility, I was told after a closed door meeting that occurred without my awareness. If you are desperate, I suppose go here. It's better than death. But if you have the ability to go literally anywhere else- a church basement, your aunt's weird friend's camper, a hole in the ground go there instead. Avoid Transitions at all costs. They care all about your money and nothing about you.

They will get you in very quickly and be very inspiring. Don't believe it. If you are looking at…read morejail time vs Transitions, take Transitions. If you are self-referring, please take a moment to look at other options. This is not a suitable facility to rehab from alcohol. Care is void, nutrition is void, finances are void. They lock you up in the middle of nowhere. If you want to leave you are finished, kicked to the curb, remove yourself from the property, no phone call or info as to where you even are... If that is what you need, go for it. It is not a facility that will give you any guidance towards recovery. You may end up with PTSD and anxiety issues after 2 weeks. This is no joke, I was very serious about my recovery from alcohol. Educate yourself, there are options. Put this place last on the list, or erase it all together from your list.

Classy place. I would have zero hesitation with my loved one becoming a permanent resident here…read more Warm, welcoming, smiling staff--not just the front desk staff, but EVERYONE! Our visit included a short tour of the facilities. They have daily activities, shuttle rides to local shopping and events, recreation and craft rooms with computers, popcorn machines and large screen TVs. Mail is delivered to individual "P.O. Box"-style mailboxes, which gives the residents the opportunity to check their own mail. For those who may not be as mobile, the mail will be delivered to each room. Laundry facilities are on the premises and available for the residents to use as they wish. Alternatively, the staff remains on call to perform laundry duties as needed/desired. Meals are expertly prepared by a staff chef and the table settings rival what you would experience at a 4-star restaurant. A padded leather, Atria-stamped, bi-fold menu is provided at each linen-covered table with the regular food selections on the left and the special of the day prominently displayed on the right. One of several servers tend to your every need from beverage order to dessert. Special requests? Just ask. I overheard one of the residents inquire about the sweet potato soup ingredients and the executive chef made his way to the table and spent the next few minutes interacting with the resident regarding her inquiry. She ended up getting the soup. Good choice on her part. I had it too and it was excellent. Perfect temperature and the flavor was superb. Each room is fully furnished. 3/4 size fridge/freezer, kitchenette, coat closet, 32" TV, two padded full size chairs in the living room area, one double bed, clothes closet, large windows, spacious bathroom area with a sink, handicap-ready toilet and walk-in shower. For those in the latter stages of their life, there is a special hospice wing where the level of care is adjusted according to the individual's needs. Residents each wear an emergency contact wristband, so if they are ever in a bind and need help, they simply push the button and a staff member (usually more than one from the report I received from someone who actually had to use it recently) will show up ready to help. Bottom Line: Atria is a cross between a Marriott and Bon Secours and it's staffed with genuine folks doing their jobs as if it wasn't a job. Well done, Atria!
