Pinebrook is nice, but the staff are very off-putting and somewhat dishonest. On move-in day, my mom went to the cafe for lunch, and I accompanied her. We were forced to sit with another man and his caretaker. There were several empty tables, but we were not allowed to eat privately. Next, the guy who is head of the dining room approached our table and asked who we were (as if we came in off the street to steal a meal). He assumed incorrectly that I was eating with my mom, but I had not ordered anything. He told me if I wanted anything it would be charged to her room. Ironically, that same evening, a Pinebrook Ambassador invited my mom to dinner. When my mom showed up alone, she sent my mom back to get me and my sister. She told the dining staff that we would all be eating for FREE since my mom was in the process of moving in. My mom only lasted 5 weeks. The food is terrible. Their website boasts "delicious, healthy meals." The meals are not delicious, nor are they healthy. My mother reported that everything tasted like it was reheated from a can. I also witnessed people sitting there for 20+ minutes without being acknowledged or served. Their website states they have a fitness center. The "fitness center" is about the size of a nice walk-in closet. It has a treadmill, a bike, and some weights. 24/7 concierge? Nope...... on the evening of Sunday January 26, after 8:00 PM, a few residents were locked outside. The automatic door was not opening to let them in. They pushed the button for help, and no one answered. One resident had to call her husband, who struggled with a walker, to come to the front door to let everyone in. My mom gave her 30-day notice around February 8. On Thursday February 20, my mom accidentally let her kitchen sink run over. She started running water and got side-tracked. (People get sidetracked.... one day I went to visit my mom and a female Pinebrook employee left her car parked in the circle, in front of the door blocking traffic, with the passenger door open and her purse on the front seat - she got sidetracked - it happens.) Water was in my mom's kitchen area and ran out into the hallway. The receptionist, her name starts with an L, called me at work to tell on my mom. She gave me a story that was hearsay. My sister went to assess the water, but it was already cleaned up. My sister spoke to L and asked her why she called me at work. They may have exchanged words but me adding it here would be hearsay (see what i did). On my way home from work, I called to see if I could speak to the Director (NG). Of course, L answered the phone. I asked her to give NG the message personally. I asked if maintenance moved the stove/refrigerator to clean up the water. She insisted they did (but I found a piece of wet cardboard under the stove - so did they move it?). And, then told me the unit was "highly damaged." When I told her my sister had already assessed the unit, L continued with her story. In fact, she started to talk over me so I raised my voice so L could hear that I was still talking. L accused me of being rude when she, in fact, was the rude one. I reminded her that I had already said "please" and "thank you " to her three times in the conversation. She hung up on me. On Friday, February 21, my mom went to the receptionist, L, and asked her to come and see the "damage". L refused and accused my mom of being aggressive. I would not be surprised if my mom said she would slap the crap out of L. My mom has a mouth. I do not believe for one minute that my mom was physically aggressive. As a result, I got a call from the director who told me that my mom could not stay there any longer. He also stated that my mom "had alcohol bottles in her apartment." I shut him down quickly as my mother does not drink. The bottles were in a box that was moved to Pinebrook in error. I left work on Friday and got my mom out of there. We moved my mom's belongings on Saturday February 22. I returned the keys and spoke to the director around 11:30 AM. I asked him who said my mom had alcohol bottles in the unit. "I don't remember." Of course, you don't. The bottles he was referring to were all wrapped in paper and INSIDE a box. I let him know that the common denominator in all the chaos (incorrectly reporting damage, reporting alleged aggression) was L, the receptionist. NG admitted that he should have been the one to assess the unit and call me. He also stated that "this happens all the time" (running water over into unit). And we would not be charged anything extra for the clean-up. After moving out, it took 3 emails and 2 calls to get a response from about the refund. We finally received a refund for the unused pre-payment of rent. I am thankful for that. However, the whole experience was unpleasant from start to finish.

The SEM Community and especially the Haven have been a godsend to our family and parent. After my…read moreparent left the hospital, Sem Haven Rehab center took great care getting them back up on their feet and walking again. It was determined that my parent was in the beginning stage of dementia, so we have decided to keep our parent there, so they are safe, properly medicated, and cared for. I believe the SEM community is suffering through COVID like most care centers across the US. I am happy they keep our family posted on the number of cases and are doing their best to stay fully staffed.

Unfortunately the staff is not fully vaccinated and Covid has run rampant among the staff. Which resulted in my sweet mother's death. Yes, the un vaccinated staff killed her. Mom had a will to live but Covid was too much. Also due to the Covid dancing among the staff they were severely short staffed. We pulled our mom out after realizing they had only 2 staff members on shift for 15? Memory care patients? Disgraceful. I hope on judgement day those unvaccinated staff members see who they killed, a sweet, kind, gentle, vaccinated woman who had more life left in her. You should all be ashamed.

They are remarkably gentle, compassionate, and professional in getting her cleaned up and fresh.Second, I want to recognize her speech therapist, Heather (affectionately known there as "Hot Dog"). Heather has been incredibly caring and helpful during meal times. She has been closely monitoring my mother to ensure she can swallow her food safely, while working hard to identify her best needs and figure out the exact eating level plan she should be on.In this field, a lot of places do not provide this level of care, but these four individuals truly stand out. Most of the staff was very apathetic (especially the night staff). I was almost given the wrong medication a few times. Fortunately for me, I know my medication very well. I have severe anxiety. My panic attacks were commonly ignored. One night, I cried and borderline screamed the entire night (I didn't sleep). The nurse ignored me, even though she could have talked me down or given me a Xanax, which I am prescribed. It was my first night there, and I was scared. I went to a different rehab facility (Encompass) after my stroke, and had very few panic attacks. The staff was always able to talk me down. Some nights, I waited as long as an hour to use the restroom. I had alarms on my bed (pretty standard). I eventually started setting off my alarm after 20 minutes, so the staff would come in and I could use the restroom. I am not a difficult patient. I never had problems like these anywhere else (hospital, other rehab). Don't send your family or yourself here! It was terrible.

Rosedale staff provide quality services and really care about the residents and their quality of life. It's very clean and well kept. The facility still looks new and is very nice. The food quality was low at first but has improved over time. On the corporate side, you are quickly reminded that this is a for-profit facility. Over his two years, there were several rate increases and his overall rate went up by 28% per month by the time he moved out. Would definitely recommend this facility if you have the need.

do not work here or send your loved ones here. i am a worker here and the workers are snobby and…read morerude, and they are outrageously rude to the residents here. the workers put on a show for people who come visit their loved ones, all the nice, and happy, and smiles you see is all fake! today October 23, 2025 a nurse here was telling other nurses that a resident here was not liking the idea of him have a catheter, so he got upset and was saying he didn't want it on himself, and he was moving around, and the nurse told the other nurses she snatched him by his feet and yanked him to the edge of the bed and yelled at him in his face "you're going to keep this f**king catheter on rather you like it or not" she was demonstrating how she was pulling him as if she was proud of herself. this is a elderly who has pain and is fragile!!!! anything that you accidentally missed of your loved ones belongings after they've passed away, the nurses either throw the items away or give them to other residents or take them home for themselves.... to me that is just very disrespectful. about 2 weeks or so ago, i over heard a resident telling a nurse that another nurse slapped her in the face :( this place is just awful, and it's too expensive.

Arrogant medical staff. Medical staff made treatment decisions based on intake assessment instead…read moreof evaluating symptoms that occurred 3 days post intake. No doctor or nurse practitioner bothered to evaluate the patient when she was complaining of extreme pain before making medication decisions, and ignored recommendations from hospice nurse. Arrogant LPN who asked patient to state her pain level from 1-10, and when patient replied 9, the LPN said "you don't look like you're a 9." Definitely a "we know best" philosophy that does not prioritze the patient. When patient was being cleaned by nurses, family was subjected to listening to patient screaming "I hope you are killing me because I can't take any more of this." Horrific experience. We moved her to the nursing facility at the Kenwood Senior Star where she had wonderful, patient centric and empathetic care. What a mistake to subject our mother to MPL.
