Classy place. I would have zero hesitation with my loved one becoming a permanent resident here…read more Warm, welcoming, smiling staff--not just the front desk staff, but EVERYONE! Our visit included a short tour of the facilities. They have daily activities, shuttle rides to local shopping and events, recreation and craft rooms with computers, popcorn machines and large screen TVs. Mail is delivered to individual "P.O. Box"-style mailboxes, which gives the residents the opportunity to check their own mail. For those who may not be as mobile, the mail will be delivered to each room. Laundry facilities are on the premises and available for the residents to use as they wish. Alternatively, the staff remains on call to perform laundry duties as needed/desired. Meals are expertly prepared by a staff chef and the table settings rival what you would experience at a 4-star restaurant. A padded leather, Atria-stamped, bi-fold menu is provided at each linen-covered table with the regular food selections on the left and the special of the day prominently displayed on the right. One of several servers tend to your every need from beverage order to dessert. Special requests? Just ask. I overheard one of the residents inquire about the sweet potato soup ingredients and the executive chef made his way to the table and spent the next few minutes interacting with the resident regarding her inquiry. She ended up getting the soup. Good choice on her part. I had it too and it was excellent. Perfect temperature and the flavor was superb. Each room is fully furnished. 3/4 size fridge/freezer, kitchenette, coat closet, 32" TV, two padded full size chairs in the living room area, one double bed, clothes closet, large windows, spacious bathroom area with a sink, handicap-ready toilet and walk-in shower. For those in the latter stages of their life, there is a special hospice wing where the level of care is adjusted according to the individual's needs. Residents each wear an emergency contact wristband, so if they are ever in a bind and need help, they simply push the button and a staff member (usually more than one from the report I received from someone who actually had to use it recently) will show up ready to help. Bottom Line: Atria is a cross between a Marriott and Bon Secours and it's staffed with genuine folks doing their jobs as if it wasn't a job. Well done, Atria!

Upon checking in, it took the staff over 9 hours to get her the prescribed meds for pain. On that first night, the nurses aid refused to give her the prescribed meds that she's been on for 10 years, telling her that it was too much to take.. Even tho these prescriptions are for a completely different issue. So, she suffered, with no hope of getting her meds. It's been 11 days now. She constantly cannot get her meds on time. Tonight, she was supposed to be put on her CPM machine at 8:00. They finally put her on the machine at around 10:00 pm. The time she should have been taken off the machine. The only reason they saw to her needs at 10:00, is because I called and demanded to know why my wife's needs were being ignored. Also, she's been ordered to keep ice on her knee between treatments. Physical therapy told us that everybody on the 4th floor has access to the therapy freezer. But the night nurse told me that she didn't know about that. So.. My wife goes without mandatory ice. After 11 days, my wife's sheets have been changed one! Her trash can has been transferred to the bathroom... And the bathroom floor has NOT been mopped. This is a retirement home, trying to mete out beds for physical therapy patients, and they fail in all aspects. If you're considering this facility for therapy after knee surgery, please think again. And, I can only imagine the neglect that happens to the elderly who do not have a voice to ask, or complain. This place needs to be shut down if things do not drastically change.

I chose one star only because you do not have negative stars!…read more Do not send your loved ones to this hellhole! The staff is very unprofessional and neglectful... the therapy is a joke and therapy is claimed when it doesn't happen. The staff do not wear uniforms and or name tags most shifts and if you ask someone for their name or title they cop an attitude with you. The place is a filthy mess with old urine and feces on equipment . The staff do not respond to call lights in any acceptable manner and I witnessed several cases of verbal abuse and physical neglect. I reported these abuses up the chain of command which in itself was a joke as no one quite knew who was really in charge. I asked the social worker and nursing supervisor for the number of their ombudsman and neither could give me any info. Medicines were not given properly and nurses lied about calling the physician on call several times. I cannot understand how or why this place is still open.
