Classy place. I would have zero hesitation with my loved one becoming a permanent resident here…read more Warm, welcoming, smiling staff--not just the front desk staff, but EVERYONE! Our visit included a short tour of the facilities. They have daily activities, shuttle rides to local shopping and events, recreation and craft rooms with computers, popcorn machines and large screen TVs. Mail is delivered to individual "P.O. Box"-style mailboxes, which gives the residents the opportunity to check their own mail. For those who may not be as mobile, the mail will be delivered to each room. Laundry facilities are on the premises and available for the residents to use as they wish. Alternatively, the staff remains on call to perform laundry duties as needed/desired. Meals are expertly prepared by a staff chef and the table settings rival what you would experience at a 4-star restaurant. A padded leather, Atria-stamped, bi-fold menu is provided at each linen-covered table with the regular food selections on the left and the special of the day prominently displayed on the right. One of several servers tend to your every need from beverage order to dessert. Special requests? Just ask. I overheard one of the residents inquire about the sweet potato soup ingredients and the executive chef made his way to the table and spent the next few minutes interacting with the resident regarding her inquiry. She ended up getting the soup. Good choice on her part. I had it too and it was excellent. Perfect temperature and the flavor was superb. Each room is fully furnished. 3/4 size fridge/freezer, kitchenette, coat closet, 32" TV, two padded full size chairs in the living room area, one double bed, clothes closet, large windows, spacious bathroom area with a sink, handicap-ready toilet and walk-in shower. For those in the latter stages of their life, there is a special hospice wing where the level of care is adjusted according to the individual's needs. Residents each wear an emergency contact wristband, so if they are ever in a bind and need help, they simply push the button and a staff member (usually more than one from the report I received from someone who actually had to use it recently) will show up ready to help. Bottom Line: Atria is a cross between a Marriott and Bon Secours and it's staffed with genuine folks doing their jobs as if it wasn't a job. Well done, Atria!

By Tuesday of the following week David Flautt had arranged for us to tour some great facilities he had identified using the information I'd shared. Having him with us on the tours helped us feel confident we were asking all the right questions. With David's expert help we were able to find the perfect place in record time. David not only helped us to explore the best available options based on our needs he also provided invaluable information about things we needed to keep in mind as we went through the process of choosing a place and how to make it happen. We learned that some of the things we had been worried about were not really issues. He made us aware of things we had not even thought about that we needed to know. Now only a month later, my mom is happily getting settled into her perfect new home. I can't say enough good things about David and about Assisted Living Locators.

Her purpose as to stay with my husband so I could go to my doctor's appointment. After the shower caper I didn't feel it was safe to leave her in charge. I contacted my daughter to complain, she took off work to come sit with them both while I was gone. She said she didn't bring gloves so I to provide them! She never laid hands on my husband. She was scheduled for 3 hours. Also, asked for coffee before I left! But I only have decafe and she said she doesn't drink decafe. Pffft! My daughter arrived and the visiting angel left shortly after I did, when I explained to her my daughter was only visiting. I called and reported her behavior and that she was no help at all. My daughter stayed until I returned. I called the office and complained that she was there for 1 hour and 15 minutes. They still charged for 3 hours!!!!! A few months later I called them again because I was headed for surgery and my family could not cover all the day time hours. So 3 hours a day would work to cover the hours. WELL GUESS WHAT????? They sent the same girl! My daughter remembered her and told her to go back to her office. GUESS WHAT?? they still wanted me to pay for that 3 hours that she didn't help us. Done with them.

After surgery she went to a nursing home for rehabilitation for about 6 weeks. The care that my grandmother was provided in the nursing home was absolutely horrible!!! I decided to bring my grandmother home however; it would require a lot of assistance. My grandmother was placed in Hospice. Hospice was phenomenal but they only came two times a week. They only stayed about one hour or so. It was not long before I realized that I needed a lot more assistance. I decided to try Visiting Angels. They were a lifesaver I was assigned an excellent care. She truly cared about my grandmother. The caregiver came whenever I needed her. She treated my grandmother as if it was her grandmother. My grandmother passed when she was 101 years old. I am so grateful for Visiting Angels helping to make my grandmother's last days and transition very peaceful and loved.
