Against my better judgment, I didn't heed another's advice that KidsThrive was not a good place to send your child, but my son has behavioral issues, and it seemed my only option at the time. To begin, they don't allow you to see the full facility of where your child will be interactive for most of the day, claiming HIPPA. This was extremely odd to me. The first week, my son was modeling other kids' behaviors, and he ended up calling the van driver the b word, which was totally unacceptable and not something that I would or do tolerate. They have lost several articles of clothing and a backpack, under their care. The first time my son attended East, they forgot to put his coat on in freezing, cold weather. He came home in a t-shirt! Man, was I furious! My son takes medication to help with his behavioral concerns. After this caused him to gain weight, several of his peers started calling him fat. He still to this day looks into the mirror, and asks, "Mommy, am I fat?" When I prompted him as to why he would ask such a ridiculous thing, he says," the kids at KidsThrive call me fat and a baby." I witnessed kids singing, "no likes you" to the tune of happy birthday right in front of me. The van driver just watched. Their contracted transportation is awful. However, some drivers at least were honest and said that they witnessed other kids being mean to my son. This was reported to me without prompting. And KidsThrive just makes excuses for it. My son came home with scratches on his face, and no one could account where they came from. His babysitter even mentioned that they were visible upon being dropped off. I had several of my son's teachers visit KidsThrive, with signed acknowledgments. They mentioned it was not a good environment, and it was not good for Maverick, that it only heightened his behavioral issues. In my experience, they are not qualified or structured to care for kids with these types of issues. One of the providers reached out to me and stated, that she was hopeful that MY son didn't grow up to hit females. I sent this to another provider that handles my son's care, and they agreed this was completely unprofessional. When I told KidsThrive that I had not seen these aggressive behaviors outside of what was being told to me, they said it must be because he knows he cannot be kicked out (???) and getting it out of his system. One also said they were "140 lbs." and could not handle him physically. [For reference, my son is big for his age]. Another instance, I asked if they were able to physically restrain him when he is acting out, and was told, "well I have crutches so I can't." I have tried to work through several issues that I have encountered over the last year, but it just became too much and the leadership team has become increasingly unhelpful. I do think my son was actually worse in this environment. Take this information and make of that what you will.

We've been extremely pleased so far with the care they're receiving. Our daughter is really thriving. She transitioned from an in-home facility, so it was a big change for her. They do such a great job of balancing letting them play and go wild while also keeping structure and learning. She naps well, eats well, plays well, and is constantly learning new things. Her teachers have also been a huge help recently with potty training! The teachers in her class are on the younger side and have the energy it takes to run around with a bunch of two year olds all day Our son is doing well too! He's been napping well, he's getting his bottles on time, and is a pretty happy little guy every evening when we pick him up. The primary teachers in his classroom are ladies who have likely already raised their families. They are very loving and affectionate and also have the patience it takes to deal with crying babies most of the day A HUGE selling point for us is the camera system. Personally, I cannot even begging to put a price on the peace of mind I get from being able to check in on my kids whenever I want. Whether I am just missing them or want to check in for other reasons (has my daughter peed her pants and had to change clothes today? Ha) it is really really beneficial. Each day we get a paper for each child that says when they went to the bathroom/had their diaper changed, when they napped, when and what they ate, etc. For control freaks like me, this is great. I'm a "the more information the better" person. Anytime we have had comments/suggestions, they've been addressed and implemented immediately. For instance, we asked if our daughter's teachers could give us more feedback on her days and they immediately started writing little "high/low" recaps on her papers for us. We asked if they could give her a late afternoon/early evening snack to help with her "hangriness" on the car ride home and that same day they started an additional snack. Long story short, we have most certainly not been disappointed with our choice!

Some teachers are absolutely amazing (especially…read moreinfant room and age 2) but the preK room was a mess this past year with a ton of turnover from the teachers to the point where I didn't even know who was in my child's classroom. Then one teacher decided to hit on my husband which made him super uncomfortable and he refused to do dropoffs for quite some time. My kid is far from perfect which we know and understand but they had me convinced there were serious issues at play so we put my child into therapy and had them tested for ADHD and personality/behavior disorders. All the tests came back negative and the therapist and counselor couldn't figure out why we were there since my child was considered a normal 5 year old testing boundaries and understanding feelings. My child has attended many birthday parties and they are always praised for being the best behaved child there and we have few to no issues at home. All poor behavior seems to be related to AAK. There are cameras in the room so you can check in often but the teachers rarely have control of the classroom and they are often on their phones which I brought up to the front desk staff multiple times to no avail. The high turnover for the room also results in teachers with various discipline styles and not always age appropriate. I have saved all communication with the center and I have an email from the center telling me that they believe in ignoring bad behavior which is why they don't talk to my child when they are upset. While I understand the concept, this often led to escalation that could have been avoided by verbal communication and respect. One discipline action was to have the child write "I will not disrespect my teacher" over and over again.... Did I mention this is a 4&5 classroom where they can't read yet? In another example After the news shared about a school shooting my child came home and said that the teacher told them that happened because kids didn't behave!!! I was furious on that one as my child was convinced misbehavior led to getting shot. When my child was finally expelled for violence we never received a written letter nor an incident report but instead were just told on the phone that my child wasn't welcomed back. The other parents and I have a group text and no one heard the same story of what happened and I still don't know what all happened that day (I imagine the truth is somewhere in the middle of what the center, the kids (including the other involved student), and my own child have told me). Based on the other reviews on here I imagine the daycare will reply back back blaming me and my child as they usually do but I just recommend any new parents talk to other parents before enrolling and talk to parents with children in the upper classrooms who have had experiences. We were there 5 years before my child was expelled and as a result I also pulled my second younger child which is a shame because they loved their teachers. But I just couldn't risk them ending up in the same situation as the older sibling. If you do go here I also recommend Not letting your child move up classrooms early as they get bored quite easily and routines are the same. My child was in the last classroom since 3.5yrs old (even though its a 4&5 room) and they were learning the same things at 3.5 as 5.5yrs so there is no division in the class for different coursework based on age or intellect. We have since moved to a new daycare and my eldest is doing amazing!! They are being challenged intellectually, have had no behavioral issues, and are loved by their teachers: Either the change in centers changed my child or nothing about my child changed but the issue was with AAK. I debated posting a review but its important that parents to talk to parents. Everyone will likely have a different experience and I'm sure some people will have a wonderful 5 years there but this was just our experience and even if we are an outlier I felt it needed to be shared.

Seemed like a great Montessori blend and we felt like it was going to be an awesome fit! My child was due August 11, and we gave them a deposit and "enrolled" him on March 15. I told them at that time - and the lady wrote it down - that I would take 12 weeks off with my baby before I returned to work. They told me no problem and to just call them when he was born to determine his start date. I did exactly that. I called them 1 week after he was born, told them my return to work date of 11/7 (he was born 3 days after his due date, so he wouldn't be starting daycare any EARLIER than expected), and they told me that they wouldn't have any room for him until 12/19! They also said, "We have to make sure that another child is walking before then, so the very earliest we could get him in is the 19. If that child isn't walking, we'll have to push the date back further." I explained to the lady on the phone that this was going to give me 6 WEEKS without childcare and she asked me if I could get help from family or friends until then. Ridiculous! I don't have family nearby to help with childcare (if I did, I wouldn't be enrolling him in daycare) and all of my friends work during the day, too. When I asked for my $75 deposit back because they didn't hold his spot, they basically scoffed at me and said tough luck. I'm completely appalled. Don't enroll your child here - they may make you wait on another child's development so your kid can start daycare, and you'll be stuck scrambling to find a place (as if the early weeks after having a baby aren't stressful enough as it is). Totally let down and disappointed. I want my $75 back.

My daughter attended KinderCare Symmes from 12 weeks to about 20 weeks old. She was in the small…read moreinfants room with the non-mobile babies. The first person I interacted with at KC was their director. She took me on a tour, showing me the infants room and telling me all the great things about KC. It was close to work and the director seemed great and that it why we chose to send our daughter there. Our experience was pretty rough from the start. The baby and I were both getting used to this new routine. I was trying not to be the typical overbearing mother and put my faith in the teachers/caregivers. One of my first negative experiences was in the first or second week there. I knew my daughter had been struggling a bit. I stopped in to see her on my lunch break and spoke with the main teacher and one of her helpers. They made it seem like she cried all day every day. They asked me if she was colicky and what kind of formula I was feeding her, etc. At home my daughter was very happy, slept well and didn't cry a lot at all so I found this conversation very disconcerting. I tried to continue the conversation with the main teacher when I picked up my little one that afternoon, and at that time she made it seem like my daughter was doing great and was totally adjusted to the new environment. This was confusing based on our previous conversation (that had totally stressed me out). I followed this up by emailing the director who never responded. In addition to the awkward, poor communication with the teacher, I had a bad interaction with the co-director. She called me about some paperwork and as I picked up the phone I could hear her complaining about someone (though I never figured out if it was about me or my daughter or sometime else entirely). It was completely unprofessional. In addition to these interactions I saw the infant room over ratio at least a handful times in the two months we were there. There were older infants and toddlers all over the small infants room, exposing the babies to more germs than they should have been (sometimes touching the babies because the teachers couldn't reign them all in). The main teacher seemed very stressed out a lot of the time. Her assistants were never consistent (different people there a lot, at both drop off and pick up). It honestly just felt very chaotic. Now that I've laid out my experience and why we left I will lay out some of the pluses... The teachers and director were very nice. While communication could certainly use improvement I do think they did well under the circumstances. I really liked one of the assistants who I believe worked in the older infants room full time but helped in the small infants room in the morning. KC (or at least this location) also provides their own diapers and wipes, which was pretty big perk. They also provided formula if you didn't mind to ask them for it (you still have to bring the formula home and prepare bottles every day). And they work with many companies to give an employee discounts. I'm sure childcare is an extremely challenging field to work in. I didn't walk away with any personal negative feelings for the people who work here. A lot of the challenges we faced are likely typical of any childcare organization. But I wanted a smaller, calmer environment and more personal care for my daughter so for us KC didn't work out.

Why would I leave my kids with someone that can't even find their papers? So I found this kindercare, and I'm honestly soooo happy things worked out the way they did, they classrooms are spacious, they offer more activities and things to do, and their playground looks super fun, my kids have never been in daycare and I was nervous but they settled all that and now I'm super confident and excited for my kids to be going here! I'll have a infant and toddler there. Very organized and clean and spacious.
