Since we had a party with the general public I had no problem sharing the play floor knowing that this, is indeed what I signed up for. However kids not from our party kept coming into the room. Standing in the line for face painting or eating food from the party room. Parents are so unaware of where their kids are it's crazy! Parents would then find their kids in the party room and would come in remove them. They were apologetic but it was annoying. This is a great place for a rainy day, but I wouldn't have a party here unless it was private.

There are possibilities to live as a permanent home at the camp site if there was a theoretical zombie apocalypse. The size and capacities of the areas are good for groups of individuals. The only change would be to the living spaces as they are quite crammed compared to the size of the buildings and area. Also having a security gate and fencing would be a great addition. As when I stayed there was a bear on the loose and there is no gate really to stop it.

It is unfortunate I am writing this because the mission of Camp Wing and crossroads as a nonprofit is a good one but the mistreatment and unprofessional in the workplace they allow is not a cause worth supporting. It is 20K to have a wedding here and it could not be less worth it just for the price point alone. There is nothing special about this venue and there are many that look the same if not better for less money. Is a longtime member of the Duxbury community I feel it is important to have it be known what has happened to this place. I know many people that have worked here and have been a part of this Camp short and long term. I am even someone who sent my kids here for years but there has been disturbing things I have learned about this place. The cabins in which the overnight counselors sleep in are cramped, filthy, and uncomfortable. The food they feed to the counselors from the dining hall is absolutely awful and left multiple sick from not eating. There are many allegations from day camp employees about the unprofessionalism as many of the directors and coordinators of the day camp. I know multiple kids in the community that have worked here and said no one they worked with that summer was planning on returning the next summer either because of how awful their bosses were. When I sent my kids to this camp, it was a community and now it has been ruined. I know there has been a recent turnover in the past couple of years of a lot of positions at this camp, but it is unfortunate to see what they have done to a once great place.

We have our 3 yr old granddaughter asleep in the car and we've been parked outside for 15 minutes giving her a few more minutes nap before going inside - since THE MUSEUM CLOSES AT 3PM. She usually only spends a half hour there (we have a membership). I then see someone (older woman, short blonde/grey hair) walk outside and then walk back in. It looked like she was locking the door!! So I get out of the car and walk up, the door is locked. I knock. No answer. I knock again. No one comes to door but I can hear people inside and I JUST SAW this woman two minutes ago come out to lock the door. So I knock again thinking surely she'll come to the door. Nope. Then I see the sign, "doors lock 45 minutes prior to closing!" My watch says 2:14...it's NOT 45 MINUTES BEFORE YET. Plus she locked the door a minute ago, so she had to have locked it at 2:13. Now, you want to close a couple minutes early? Ok, fine, I get it. But when someone walks up in time - you let them in if it's within posted hours! I look up the museum's phone # and call. The woman answers: "Hi, I'm standing outside the door and it's locked, but we have our granddaughter and I was giving her a few minutes more to sleep. I just saw you come outside. I was sitting in my car right out front. Can I bring her in, she'll only be in for half hour?" "No, I'm sorry, you can't." (WHAT??) "But it's just right this very minute 2:15!" "Yes, that's why the doors are locked" "But you locked them early!" "I'm sorry" You have got to be kidding me!! I've read the bad reviews about this museum before and still, I bought a membership. I knew about their very limited hours (aimed at closing whenever school aged children are out of school) and still I bought a membership. I've been here plenty of times and have seen the number of exhibits that are broken, missing pieces, not working and still I've come back - because their arts and crafts area is worth it. But after today - never again. I would advise against anyone joining this museum just due to the horrible attitude of (some) of their employees. I truly believe there are a few employees who are nice (art table) but I've seen this woman at the register when I've arrived and witnessed her give others a hard time before. She is working in the wrong industry. She needs to be in a non customer-facing position. CME - you should be ashamed. Locking your doors early then telling a customer standing outside at EXACTLY 2:15 (she did not dispute the timing) that they cannot come in. Unbelievable. Oh, we drove 40 minutes to get here. The town of Easton is being done a disservice to have this museum within their city limits, as the association alone gives them a bad name. A change in staff is definitely needed here.

Felt like I was in the movie ATL and fighting for my life in here, will NOT be back. I've skated before but I am no pro and I will admit that, but I didn't know I was in the damn derby! There were people literally skating within centimeters of you on purpose to try and make you fall. Not to mention it was rather hot in there and peoples wind wasn't smelling too fresh. (If you can't skate, I don't suggest taking a bathroom break with your skates on because, well yeah, use your imagination. Not to mention the floor is slippery as all hell in there) There was not anyone behind the snack bar for quite some time and then when she did come over, it was like she was under too much pressure. (Not sure how, the oven wasn't even working) so we could only get drinks (Luckily we brought our own skates because the way those people were sweating and smelling, no thank you) If YOU CAN skate && I mean SKATE SKATE (you know I mean business because I said it twice) then definitely give it a try. It's not a beginner friendly rink by any means. (No bars to hold on to or any order at all) There was an older woman and man in there getting their money honey, right in the middle of the rink. Still, the environments created around said turtles are whimsical, educational and awe-inspiring for the little 'uns. An extra star for free admission to YMCA members, and for the enjoyable outdoor space, which includes a chicken hutch, active gardens, stone circles for pagan worship (I kid, or do I?) and about a billion chipmunks. Seriously, it's like Alvin attained Beiber status and all the teen chips are swarming for an autograph. Excellent programming and festivals throughout the year - even a Corn Fest! - and, as mentioned, completely free for YMCA members. Solid way to knock out an hour or two if your spawn is being a terror. Or obsesses over turtles. Or both.
