Walking distance is an amazing selection of beer (craft, Michigan, and more), wine, and liquor--perfect for a party run if need be! I honestly wasn't expecting anything so I was pleasantly surprised to see basic pantry staples (like flour, sugar, etc), loads of pop and juice options, a crap ton of Ben and Jerry's ice cream (SCORE!), chips and other salty snacks, spices, milk and cheese, they even tout a pretty tasty looking German potato salad (have not tried it yet). I wouldn't do my grocery shopping here but it's good to know there's all the stuff here if I'm in a pinch! For example--I haven't officially moved in yet so I have no plates or cups or anything at the house so picked up some paper plates and plastic silverware for pizza runs while I'm cleaning and still spiffing up the place prior to moving day. Pretty dope (although I will admit that their decorative napkin selection is about 15 years old it seems!). I've been a couple of times now and the clerk has been super nice both times. Most of the voices are silenced by my own internal voice going, "Holy sh*t I do not have 14.99 to spend on a 22 oz. bottle of beer!" Price aside, I've found many beers I wasn't expecting but couldn't find beers that I can find elsewhere. So it's strangely hit or miss. They have a walk-in cooler with a variety of six-packs and some regional/international beers. I found some of my favorite Colorado beers and not others (like Fat Tire, I can find that in other A2 liquor stores but not here). The staff isn't the most helpful or knowledgeable in the world. But they're friendly enough. They have a good selection of rolling tobacco (when I drink I tend to quit quitting and thus return to my Bali Shag ways). Every time I've been in here there's been at least one gentleman who perhaps is a street dweller which makes for quite an olfactory experience. It's a strange contrast to the moneyed undergrads and bourgie grads that sift through the aisles. But no matter. This LIQUOR STORE (where I come from a "party store" is a store with balloons and costumes for children) completes the trifecta along with the Beer Depot and my local neighbor Falsetta's.

There's a particular guy here who has held 6 packs of new limited edition Short's beers for my fella because he knows he likes to try them. Sometimes those things sell out so I've always been impressed by that. Standard prices and I like that it's on the south-side of town so it's not super crazy busy or crowded there.
