This was my 4th time coming here to tube and my first time camping here. This was the most…read moreexpensive campsite I have ever stayed in and it was not worth the money. The campsites have no privacy and are on top of each other. The septic truck started servicing the area at 7am Saturday morning and was extremely loud. It sounded like a tornado warning alarm. They have a 2 night minimum for camping at about $60/night so our total trip cost was $137 after fees and such. It was so loud. The river tubing line got so backed up in went to the river and back around. They raised the price to tube down the river to $26/person + a cooler tube. I might come back for a day trip, but certainly wouldn't return to camp here, too expensive for the noise and lack of privacy. The campfire doesn't have a grate, our fire pit had batteries in it upon arrival, before starting a fire we thought we had taken all the batteries out, only to start our fire and experience one explode which was very scary.

Prices are way up and service is way down. Bus drivers are the same ole people who are great. After that everyone is new and 16 years old working here. Trying a new tubing vacation near year.

I went on the shore Shart And finally I escaped in the water Sometimes Shart. And little kids played near it with green sand all over. The staff were incredibly demanding. The new owners have pushed customers out due to no longer allowing ANY carry ins basically forcing you to buy from their bar. Not even water bottles! There was nobody out watching for the new $10 per person wristbands so we basically paid for nothing (aside from Mondays apparently) Aside from hearing about my diabetic issues, they did not allow me to bring any small snacks EVEN THOUGH they allowed me to bring in a backpack that they said we couldn't even have? It was nice to relax in and they have improved on adding a better playground for older kids, but I am not impressed with the raise in prices for everything. If you want a seasonal pass for your family, get ready to pay $150 In the bathrooms, there's black mold, hair everywhere, and white stuff on the curtains. The stalls have the BIGGEST gap I have ever seen, and I've rewatched titanic 500 times. It's almost to your knees and the curtains are transparent. The porta potty: Blood, everywhere Like someone had just been murdered.

Camping is supposed to feel relaxing. This place felt like the opposite…read more You arrive to a two-page liability waiver, wristbands, vehicle passes, controlled gates, and signs everywhere telling you what you can and can't do. The entire experience felt over-managed and unnecessarily legalistic. What really pushed it over the edge was receiving a promotional Constant Contact email several days later at the email address I had handwritten on their required check-in paperwork. I never knowingly signed up for their marketing list. Between the excessive rules and that use of my information afterward, I would not return.

We rented two of the cabins and the amount of space inside was perfect for this family of 4! Each kid got their own loft, we had a bed with wonderful space. The number of things to do while there was perfect for the ADHD kids and the ability to sit and watch them do ALL THE THINGS was perfect for this tired momma! We played mini-golf at 6:45 am, horseshoes at 6:54 am, and playground at 7 am to just start all over again (multiple times)! Definitely plan your drinking schedule with the fact that the bathroom is not in the cabin but still close! We had s'mores on the fire pit and two nights of BBQ! We even swam in the lake and the kids LOVED the inflatables (even the 40-year-old fat dudes got out there). The owners were incredible and friendly. Really can see that they care and have built a wonderful community. We will be back!

camped here in mid june for 3 nights…read more first off location - right off lake michigan, maybe 50 feet. its so calming to here the light waves hit the shore at nighttime. for the most part there is tree line between the sites and the lake but there are benches throughout the site where you can view the lake - really nice for the sunrise and sunsets. the sites them self were quite large compared to the sites ive been to through the years. we were able to easily park a SUV, set up our tent, have a picnic bench, and a fire pit with no problem. another large vehicle and tent would have fit the site. a majority of the sites had campers parked at them. a majority of the sites contained electrical outlets - 20 and 30 amp receptacles the amenities were outstanding. the bathroom/shower area in the middle of the site appeared to be brand new or very recently renovated. the bathrooms were cleaned daily and the showers actually had hot water and private stalls with lockable doors. the site also had a volleyball beach court, teatherball, and basketball hoop near the beach. the rangers sold wood and ice and also had gear for the sporting events that could be used. i did not see a downside to this site. the nearest town was at least a 20-30 minute drive so we felt like we were away from life aside from the occassional semi truck that would speed down the nearest county road.

Lake Michigan is beautiful! The parks is well kept up!…read more As far as the campground, itself... Most sites are just grass, and many are not even close to being level. For some reason, they let tall weeds grow 5-6 feet at the lakefront.... Sitting down, you can hear the lake, but not see it very well. Not sure why....? Bring an extra extension electrical cord. Remember, no water hookups, so fill up on your way in. Site 33, does NOT have unobstructed view of the lake, as tenters set up directly between the lake and site 33. "Great" playground for the kids.... But the screaming gets old quickly! And take extra caution, because kids were "racing" alongside our vehicle on their bikes! And so, if you are coming for some quiet time.....don't. And, they installed some "bell/chime" for the kids.... Super annoying! The swimming beach is rocky by the shore. May want some water socks. Shower and toilet facilities are nice! Summary: Beautiful, well maintained park, but if you want a quiet retreat, go elsewhere.
