Decided to stop here for lunch today with a friend. Neither of us had been here before, but my…read morefriend had heard good things. We were not disappointed. Our food was fantastic. We both had the thick cut New York strip, with grilled asparagus and roasted baby red potatoes. I'm going to place my meal here in the top five best meals I have ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly. But the steak, that was hands down the best part; high quality cut of meat that lived up to the thick cut menu description, seasoned and cooked perfectly with almost no fat. The steak came with caramelized sautéed mushrooms and onions that were a wonderful compliment. The asparagus was nicely grilled with great flavor and a good crunch, something that I loved because I hate mushy over cooked asparagus. The baby red potatoes were also perfectly cooked and seasoned. I have an extremely high appreciation for the culinary industry and the art that goes in to quality food, and the meal I had here today clearly presented the strong passion of the Chef who prepared it. My highest compliments to that Chef.

Everyone told us what a great time they had. The food was delicious thanks to Bob and his staff. From beginning to end it was a great experience. READ BEFORE BOOKING!!!…read more If you want your family to have a great time, create core memories, and see them smile ear to ear? Evergreen Campsites & Resort is the perfect place to go! My family and I have never been to a campground before and stayed in the Blue Lagoon cottage on the resort. It was clean, beautiful, spacious, and had everything we needed. We had no idea what to expect but the staff was very helpful and fun. Friday, we went mini golfing, which was a blast and easy to figure out, hung out by the lake in the evening, and walked the grounds to check the place out. We also found the arcade with the two kids (8 years old) and it was reasonably priced and fun! At night it was nice and quiet too. Saturday, we checked out the pool, and the kids were able to play while the adults also checked out the adults only pool. There is a swim up bar which was very convenient. Afterwards, we decided to order some pizza from their store which they delivered to us and I'm not kidding, it was DELICIOUS! My son even said, "this is my favorite pizza ever". We then packed everyone up to head to the lake where we spent hours there. As a mom, I always worry about the kids in the water, but this set up was incredible. It's shallow and my 8-year-old could walk all the way to the blow-up obstacle course without going under. The lake was their favorite part of the whole weekend as well. That night they were having their "Holiday do over weekend". So, there was a band, countdown to the new year, and Mardi gras theme, decorations, etc. The music was amazing and the kids LOVED it! We finished the night off with a bonfire and could not have asked for a better weekend. My family will remember this weekend forever and we cannot WAIT to return!!!

We ended up canceling our reservation for this summer (2024) because we couldn't justify yet another increase. Staycations shouldn't break the bank. It's a shame, because the lake is glorious.
