Awesome campground located just along the Wolf River. We took our entire family but be prepared for…read morea little noise. Rent a tube and you can go down the river as many times as you like. The river entrance is just a short bus ride from the campsite and ends at the same spot! A little pricey BUT with unlimited floats (same day only) it more than makes up for that.

The campsites have no privacy and are on top of each other. The septic truck started servicing the area at 7am Saturday morning and was extremely loud. It sounded like a tornado warning alarm. They have a 2 night minimum for camping at about $60/night so our total trip cost was $137 after fees and such. It was so loud. The river tubing line got so backed up in went to the river and back around. They raised the price to tube down the river to $26/person + a cooler tube. I might come back for a day trip, but certainly wouldn't return to camp here, too expensive for the noise and lack of privacy. The campfire doesn't have a grate, our fire pit had batteries in it upon arrival, before starting a fire we thought we had taken all the batteries out, only to start our fire and experience one explode which was very scary.

Not only can you bring a tent ((make sure you bring a tarp to put over it, so you won't get wet when it rains out)), but you can rent a cabin, or keep your camper there, which my step grandparents had, but we always used a tent. There is a pond in the middle of the grounds to go swimming in, and a channel to keep your boat in; make sure to take a nice cruse around the lake and try some of the local restaurants and bars. There is a bathroom/shower building that's very nice and the showers are nice and roomy as well. We always had an awesome time and would stay up long talking with friends and enjoying each other's company around a nice warm fire. We made a lot of great friends here, but I will always remember Big Al and how friendly him and his wife were. It seems like anyone who goes there knows who they are. Dogs are welcome! I mentioned the owner, Ron, is a really awesome and friendly guy! One year, he called my dad several days before our trip to tell us that the campsite had flooded due to a lot of rainy weather that they had. It was nice of hi to warn us in advance before we ended up driving up there only to have to turn back around. And, another time, he let us stay the night in a cabin for free when my dad's truck decided to die on us right after we packed up; Big Al and his wife even offered us some of their food to hold us over until we could head back home. The cabin was very nice and has a kitchen, two beds and a bathroom.

Channel access to partridge lake and wolf river was very convenient and our rental boat was just steps away from our camper. I highly recommend, and we've already made reservations for next year.

Being an earshot away of any conversation your neighbors might have. I like my privacy. The cabins have all the luxurious of home minis running water. There is an AC unit, small fridge and even a microwave. A perfect way to throw some clothes and a some pillows into the car and go. This campground like many is geared toward families. There is a nice pool, games and climby things for all the littles. I was disappointed to learn that they planned to have a movie night. Isn't that the point to camp? To get these kids away from screens? I was sad that I had to listen to the booming speakers going through the camp for 2 hours so these kids could watch this movie. It was a complete distraction to the peace and quiet I was looking for. The prices of the cabins are kind of a lot at over $100 per night but they have 1 queen bed and a set of bunks. I would return but would prefer to come during the non peak time.

Some other spots were nowhere near as spacious, so it depends on what you are looking for and what type of camping equipment you are bringing (rv or tent). The clubhouse was very nice and clean, with great shower and bathroom facilities. The electric at our spots were 20 amp, so it caused us a bit of an issue running A/C, fridge and an electric griddle. It is my understanding that some of the sites have 30 amp service, but not ours. Prices were very reasonable.
