The water park was closed for painting and maintenance so no clue how that area is. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom door and shower curtain rod compete for space, and the door doesn't open fully. Shower head has lots of calcium build up and could use a good cleaning. There is a fridge, microwave and ironing board in the room. Breakfast area had lots of carbohydrate options. There were some hard boiled eggs, but if you prefer a heartier breakfast you may want to pick up food and bring it back to your room. This area is popular with out of towners in the summer and I was surprised that there weren't more hotel choices.

We had to ask for the two hangers they could muster, and were told at first they didn't hathem anymore. But the owner overheard and dug a few up from the basement. The fridge takes up much of the storage space. This is Waupaca, a big tourist destination for Chicagoans, who stay for weeks! What are these owners thinking? Oh, but they do offer one free dink in the bar each night.

Owner: Was attentive and readily available to answers questions and fulfill all accommodations. Area: Perfect location that is close to the town and convenient stores. I stayed in most of the rooms during my time there and all the beds are comfortable. There are iPhone chargers in all the rooms, and there was complimentary WiFi, which allowed for both the ability to work after hours and to surf the Internet when relaxing. There was also plenty of privacy, but at the same time Kerri and Mike, the innkeepers, made me feel at home. Early each morning there was coffee and Kerri always made sure I had a travel mug to take into work. Additionally, Kerri was nice enough to offer me dinner several times during the long bleak winter. I stayed at one of the newer hotels in Waupaca during my first trip, and while I had no big complaints, it was just average across the board, while the Apple Tree Bed & Breakfast had those extra touches of home all in a ultra comfortable peaceful and private space. The rooms are quite spacious though, and though it was clean, it did still feel a bit musty. Booking was interesting because online the site said they were fully booked, but I figured I'd call in case. Low and behold calling did the trick. However when I called back the day-of-arrival for early check-in, it was soo tough to get through to the front desk. Nothing was terrible my any means, but I don't think I'd look to rebook here.

Heather asked if the maintenance man could look at it. Mike heard the loud whine and suggested I get another room. Heather gave me an upgrade and I was totally satisfied. Both were very friendly and helpful. The room had a great whirlpool bath and fireplace. The room was clean, the WiFi worked well and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was ok, nothing special, breads and muffins were pre-packaged or out of the freezer, but the coffee was good. Complimentary coffee and cookies are always available in the lobby.

I worked in…read moreManawa for 3 months and can honestly say that staying with Judy was hands-down better than any hotel/airbnb/b&b/etc I've I've ever stayed at. The rooms and bathrooms are large, VERY clean, and there is a fridge/microwave/coffee bar upstairs which guests can use at any time. The hostess, Judy, is a culinary marvel. Not only did Judy make AMAZING breakfasts every morning, but she remembered what I liked and disliked and made new dishes each morning based on my personal preferences. Besides the incredible food (which is reason enough to stay here, believe me - there were frequently homemade sweets available in the dining area perfect for an after-dinner snack), Judy is the most accommodating hostess you will ever encounter. She let me leave my bike at her house when I would travel home on the weekends, she would make to-go breakfast bundles when I had to go in for work early, AND she would even get up early to heat up the breakfast before I left (which would sometimes be as early as 3am). An added bonus is her adorable cat, Bob. Needless to say, The Lindsay House is more than a quaint stop on one's journey. It's a destination in and of itself.
