I will start by saying the staff were all friendly and great, so I would give them 5 stars. The room was VERY clean when we arrived, which is again a reflection of the staff. Here's where it goes from 5 stars to 3. This property is pretty tired and needs some major renovations. The beds are worn out and are long past their useful date. My biggest issue is that AmericInn is still playing the "We don't clean rooms during your stay because of Covid" game. The Covid scare is over and you need to get back to providing service to your customers. I paid full price, so I expect full service. I had to empty my own trash and make my own bed. I didn't get a discount for doing housekeeping. I had to bring my dirty towels to the front desk to get clean ones. If you are so afraid of your employees getting Covid, then why would you allow guests to hand your staff dirty towels and trash at the front desk? I am a fan of AmericInn, but you need to get back to business.

The shower had a ramp which appeared to allow a wheelchair to be rolled into the shower. When this ramp got wet from the shower it was slippery as ice and I was afraid to use the shower for fear of falling. The room itself was small and had a funky smell. Breakfast was mediocre with unhealthy choices. I would never say here again.

Everything about this hotel stay tells me the owners are trying to save money while trying to make it look fancy. From the cold indoor pool to the heater in the lobby so they didn't have to turn up the heat in the hotel to the breakfast which was a step above most hotel breakfasts (but was lukewarm at best and had the portion sizes cut in half or thirds by the staff), to the nonfunctional equipment in the rooms (alarm clocks, microwave, etc), it all screamed that they were putting things in place to make it look better than it actually was. Even worse than the facade was the experience. The clerk who checked us forgot to give us back our credit card and ID until we mentioned it. Some local 20-somethings monopolized the spa and pool and were rough-housing in the small space for several hours so my kids didn't feel safe using the facilities - once the pool closed they all got in their trucks and drove home so they definitely weren't guests. The pool was also closed in the morning so we couldn't even use it before we left. No one was at the front desk to check out at 9 AM. It was mediocre and average at best. But at least it had clean beds, warm showers, and was out of the weather.

The beds were comfortable. Every morning you are given a choice of a home- cooked breakfast too. The garden out back is so pretty, and the whole feeling there is very peaceful and old- fashioned. It's close to town but not in the middle of it, which is perfect! There's a park within walking distance. I really don't like stuffy hotel rooms so this was just the right place to stay. This is a comfortable home. And, if you want a pool, there is a public one within a 5 min drive. I wish I had taken more pictures to post because it really is so lovely!! I have stayed twice when visiting family and I would stay again for sure- I have nothing but gratitude and high recommendation!!!

They offered some things by Pendleton Woolen Mills at $53 wallets to around $300 for coats, but it's pricey if you're insisting on cash only, but that's my opinion. Most importantly, the casino has no taxes because you're on the Menominee reservation. So, it is what it is. They had photos along the wall close to the gift shop. As someone with Menominee lineage, I wish they offered more history of the area and told the story that many books need to teach about the Menominee nation.

The rooms and bathrooms are large, VERY clean, and there is a fridge/microwave/coffee bar upstairs which guests can use at any time. The hostess, Judy, is a culinary marvel. Not only did Judy make AMAZING breakfasts every morning, but she remembered what I liked and disliked and made new dishes each morning based on my personal preferences. Besides the incredible food (which is reason enough to stay here, believe me - there were frequently homemade sweets available in the dining area perfect for an after-dinner snack), Judy is the most accommodating hostess you will ever encounter. She let me leave my bike at her house when I would travel home on the weekends, she would make to-go breakfast bundles when I had to go in for work early, AND she would even get up early to heat up the breakfast before I left (which would sometimes be as early as 3am). An added bonus is her adorable cat, Bob. Needless to say, The Lindsay House is more than a quaint stop on one's journey. It's a destination in and of itself.

So we had to be one spot over from where we were, but we actually both accidently set up in the sites just after where we should have been. It really wasn't a big deal and clearly it was our own fault, but it could have been more clear. We were excited to maybe play on the mini-golf course, but there was a lot of debris on the greens and the grass all around it really needed to be cut. The decorations around the grounds too look like they could use some TLC. We checked out the (tiny, super tiny) sandy beach area and thought it could have been cleaned up a bit. We went down right away one morning and found garbage on the ground & random dirty beach towels where towels don't belong. Later in the afternoon when we went back down there to see what was going on we saw the same pieces of garbage and towels in the same spots. We thought surely by then someone from the staff would have come cleaned it up. We were looking forward to getting in the water and possibly renting some of the water equipment they had at the campground (which would have been so nice), but we heard from several people there was swimmers itch in the water. What a letdown! Not the campgrounds fault at all, but our experience was less than what it could have been. I think this place has potential to be really fantastic, just needs a little more TLC.

Very nice gym (didn't use it, but looked well appointed with a few machines and flat screen attached to wall). And clean room. Did I mention the place is clean? After our last experience at Landmark, Cobblestone feels like a 5 star upgrade. The morning breakfast had hot hotel pans with scrambled eggs and sausage that looked like sliced Spam but wasn't salty at all and tasted like ham. A hot waffle iron, assorted pastries, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and milk. Quite a nice selection compared to many "Continental breakfasts" in a lot of places. I was impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Sadly, I didn't get names of the 2 morning staff, but, WOW! The manager mentioned she'd been managing here for about 2 years and the housekeeper was learning the front desk position duties as well. Customer service like this is getting rarer and rarer. The hotel was sparkling clean, the internet was fast, the bed was super comfortable, and it was nice that you could buy a beer at the hotel. What really made the visit shine, however, was the manager Amanda. She was clearly working hard to deliver excellent customer service with a great attitude. She was so welcoming and friendly, and she went above and beyond for customer service. I will definitely stay here again!
