This room is likely suited for a honeymooning couple, but the 5 of us enjoyed the space and privacy from the rest of the Inn. The owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful and their breakfast was really great! Plus, they were alums of Miami University, just like 4 of the 5 of us. We enjoyed chatting with the owners and sitting out on the porch during a rain storm. We did have trouble figuring out the lock system, but the owners promptly helped us out with that. The Inn is within short walking distance of Lawrence, a beautiful little liberal arts college, and the downtown Appleton area with shops and restaurants. If I ever find myself in Appleton again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Franklin Street!

It was hot and very tasty. The owner wasn't there, but Megan did a great job of filling in. Everything about the room was perfect. The closet had a fridge and Kuerig with not just coffee! (Thank you as I love hot cocoa), the king bed was comfy and luxurious. It had a cute reading nook but the bathroom was spectacular. If I ever build a house this would be what I would add. The suite was well stocked with bubble bath, candles, nice towels and the comfiest robes. Bonus for Halloween candy! I would recommend this to anyone. We can't wait to come back.

To say we…read morewere pleased is an understatement--this was by far the best stay I've ever had in any hotel/inn, anywhere. We stayed in the Hunt Suite, which was beautifully appointed. We had all of the comforts of home: a fireplace, a fridge, a gigantic bed, a large en-suite bathroom, and a huge jacuzzi bathtub (big enough for the two of us to enjoy together!). Breakfast was served at our requested time and we enjoyed it both in our room an in the dining room with other guests, depending on the day. De Ann is an absolutely fantastic cook; her breakfasts aren't to be missed. While we didn't spend much time in it, there is a lovely back garden with a screened in gazebo, a bubbling fountain, and yard games for your enjoyment. The Roost is conveniently located close to Neenah, downtown Appleton, and about 30 minutes south of Green Bay. There's even a lovely house dog, Zada, who was very excited to greet us and give us all the kisses we could ask for. We will most certainly be back and are recommending Roost Bed & Breakfast to every single person we've met, both in Wisconsin and elsewhere. If you're thinking about visiting, please do--it is absolutely incredible and a 5 star experience!

So it's worth it in my book. Plus we got some really nice rooms. The beds were comfortable plus they had a little lounge area with a TV and a couch and chair. The bathrooms were very nice and up to date. After we checked-in and went to our rooms we ended up requesting different rooms with an adjoining door. And the staff had no problem switching us to different rooms. The hotel had a breakfast available for about $10 but we never ended up eating there. I never used the pool but I checked it out and it was pretty tiny. And the hot tub was even smaller.

Some had just reported a month before they had bedbug issues. When I looked behind the bed and under the mattress pad, what I found was disgusting. Lots of parking. In the morning, there's an included breakfast bar that is billed as "delicious" on the hotel sign. Well - not really. The morning I had it, I went for scrambled eggs and sausage - the eggs were tasteless, while the sausage was beyond salty. The coffee was okay, but that's as far as it goes. Fortunately, there's a Starbucks and a Perkins about five minutes in either direction. We stayed on a ground floor room, which was nicely kept and reasonably up to date, if somewhat generic. The biggest gripe we had is that the soundproofing is inadequate - there was a sporting event of some sort in town the first night and we heard every footstep and door slam. Teenagers slam doors a lot. The staff were nice and helped us out with everything we needed.

The rooms are dark with poor lighting. The bathroom is very small so you'll struggle if you have to share.
