Flew in for a cousins wedding and took a chance on booking a bed and breakfast. I have always been…read morehesitant to stay at one.. This was by far the most amazing experience and look forward to returning. Check in: Was an absolute breeze. Our flight was delayed and were able to easily access the location through self check in. Room: The room was immaculate. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Had all the necessary amenities. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. Owner: Was attentive and readily available to answers questions and fulfill all accommodations. Area: Perfect location that is close to the town and convenient stores. We will absolutely come back just to enjoy this spot again!

I stayed in most of the rooms during my time there and all the beds are comfortable. There are iPhone chargers in all the rooms, and there was complimentary WiFi, which allowed for both the ability to work after hours and to surf the Internet when relaxing. There was also plenty of privacy, but at the same time Kerri and Mike, the innkeepers, made me feel at home. Early each morning there was coffee and Kerri always made sure I had a travel mug to take into work. Additionally, Kerri was nice enough to offer me dinner several times during the long bleak winter. I stayed at one of the newer hotels in Waupaca during my first trip, and while I had no big complaints, it was just average across the board, while the Apple Tree Bed & Breakfast had those extra touches of home all in a ultra comfortable peaceful and private space. Thanks Kerri and Mike for making the winter bearable!

Lindsay House Bed & Breakfast - We felt very welcomed at the Lindsay House :)

The rooms and bathrooms are large, VERY clean, and there is a fridge/microwave/coffee bar upstairs which guests can use at any time. The hostess, Judy, is a culinary marvel. Not only did Judy make AMAZING breakfasts every morning, but she remembered what I liked and disliked and made new dishes each morning based on my personal preferences. Besides the incredible food (which is reason enough to stay here, believe me - there were frequently homemade sweets available in the dining area perfect for an after-dinner snack), Judy is the most accommodating hostess you will ever encounter. She let me leave my bike at her house when I would travel home on the weekends, she would make to-go breakfast bundles when I had to go in for work early, AND she would even get up early to heat up the breakfast before I left (which would sometimes be as early as 3am). An added bonus is her adorable cat, Bob. Needless to say, The Lindsay House is more than a quaint stop on one's journey. It's a destination in and of itself.

Judy's breakfasts are the best food in the area. We love having pets around in the morning and evening, but I'm sensitive to cat dander. No worries here as the kitties are not allowed upstairs near the guest rooms. So we have the best of both worlds. Pets to entertain us but no allergic reactions.

I came here for the first time with my extended family last weekend and have really mixed feelings…read moreabout our stay. The good: staff was friendly and helpful. Prices are competitive. Our campsite was nice and we had a nice view of Bear Lake. The main restrooms were cleaned constantly throughout the day and were well stocked. There's a nice big playground in the middle of the campground that my niece just loved. There were a lot of families there and I get the sense that this could be a place where people just love to come; it certainly seemed that way based off how many people had seasonal sites super decked out. The cons: The sites are all identified with their numbers, but I think they could be a little more clear. Both myself and my in-laws accidently set up in the wrong sites because of the way that we were instructed to drive in; the identification markers were after where our site was. So we had to be one spot over from where we were, but we actually both accidently set up in the sites just after where we should have been. It really wasn't a big deal and clearly it was our own fault, but it could have been more clear. We were excited to maybe play on the mini-golf course, but there was a lot of debris on the greens and the grass all around it really needed to be cut. The decorations around the grounds too look like they could use some TLC. We checked out the (tiny, super tiny) sandy beach area and thought it could have been cleaned up a bit. We went down right away one morning and found garbage on the ground & random dirty beach towels where towels don't belong. Later in the afternoon when we went back down there to see what was going on we saw the same pieces of garbage and towels in the same spots. We thought surely by then someone from the staff would have come cleaned it up. We were looking forward to getting in the water and possibly renting some of the water equipment they had at the campground (which would have been so nice), but we heard from several people there was swimmers itch in the water. What a letdown! Not the campgrounds fault at all, but our experience was less than what it could have been. I think this place has potential to be really fantastic, just needs a little more TLC.

Overall it's a nice campground. However do not expect to bring your drinks and snacks to the beach…read morefor a beach day. Not only will you need to buy to stock your camper for your stay you are also EXPECTED to buy drinks/food from the bar/camp store/tiki bar. So whatever you plan on having for a budget double it or don't go swimming and enjoy your day. Coolers, drinks, food, ect not allowed unless purchased from the campground themselves. $8 for a cheeseburger and $65/night for camping.
