It worked beautifully, because everyone at the company does high quality work, and the Arganbrights have great integrity and years of experience. They write very detailed construction proposals, with each element priced out, so there are no hidden costs or surprises. (Their prices are more than fair, by the way.) They sent photos and kept in regular phone and email contact, so we completely felt in the loop while work was being done. The Iowa-made WoodHarbor cabinets they feature are high quality, and the Arganbrights have good relationships with suppliers such as Cambria (quartz countertops) that result in savings to the homeowner. When we arrived from CA, the house was very thoroughly cleaned, all appliances checked and it was ready for move in. We recommend WoodHarbor highly. Remodeling and construction are usually stress-filled endeavors, but not so this time. We would work with the Arganbrights again, happily.

We found another contractor and he did an absolutely excellent job of our $30,000 kitchen remodel!

Three weeks later I left a message, no call back. Left 2 more messages with the office before she finally called back 3 days later. Why I continued doing business is beyond me and I blame my experience with their lack of professionalism and communication on myself. We ordered new doors for all cabinets, painted for the top cabs and refaced the bottom cabinets. We had some questions regarding the quote which were next to impossible to get answered via email. After visiting with Rhonda at Showplace Kitchens in Urbandale, we agreed to move forward with the project. She assigned a contractor named Micah to our job and said he would reach out to schedule. At 10:00 PM on a sunday evening Micah sent a text asking if he could start work the next day. The installation was fine, even if the contractors communication wasn't that great. They cleaned up after themselves but there were terrible fingerprints over all cabinets that don't easily clean up. One thing to note - they don't remove your old cabinets, trim or the cardboard boxes the doors come in - so prepare to handle yourself, it's a lot of trash. There were 7 or more pieces that weren't sized/ordered correctly. This project that should have taken 1 week ended up taking about 6 weeks. Doors that were too big, doors and drawers that didn't arrive at all and then doors that arrived damaged. The contractor complained because he wasn't aware that the drawers we had didn't have facing - it was all very disorganized. After several complaints and inquiries, the correct sized doors/drawers finally showed up. We are pretty reasonable people but even the contractor admitted that this was much more items than normal to be messed up. The cabinets that were refaced looked good. The painted cabinet doors leave a lot to be desired. We expected the quality to be better but little white spots the size of a pin prick show up in the cabinet doors. The contract smudged with the paint crayon. Of course I know the smudge is there but I'm not sure guests would notice. The communication with Rhonda is poor at best. She is difficult to get hold of, especially if there's a problem. Personally, I would rather have a phone conversation to understand future expectations but Rhonda preferred text messaging so that's what we did. The 2nd installment was paid a couple weeks after the final replacement door was installed. Rhonda checked in with us around the time we made our payment to see how we liked the finished product (by text, naturally). I told her we like the design, the installation and are happy it's finally done BUT I'm concerned about the quality with these white pin pricks here and there. She requested a photo which I didn't send because I was out of town and had low expectations for a satisfactory resolution. A day or two later she followed up with a suggestion of what it could be ("lack of humidity on our house since it's winter time" hmmm, interesting). We played phone tag for a couple days and then I received a past due notice. Of course, that's the real reason she had inquired how things were! I left her a message that payment had been mailed 11 days prior and to check with office. Her follow up was not to inquire again about my reported quality issue but instead asked me to send payment again since they hadn't received it. ON TEXT. When I challenged her about the money being the true reason for follow up, not customer satisfaction, she had no good response. If you use this company, BEWARE. My assumption was that they're too busy for smaller jobs like ours. After my experience spending less than $10,000 - I don't have the trust it takes to refer this company to anyone. I was too lazy to check out the competition and I paid the price. Look for a company that will actually work to make you happy.

Complications arose with the original delivery (no fault of lumbar liquidators), but Cindy... she was awesome. I know NOTHING about floors, and she helped me through the process of selecting the PERFECT floor for our home. She answered my questions. She understood that I had a tight budget to work within. She knocked out EVERY problem that arose, got our floor delivered, and found installers that could meet our deadline. I wouldn't be being honest if I didn't admit that the process was stressful... moving always is, but with Cindy in my corner... that stress was reduced drastically. She had an odd challenge to work with too... I do not use a cell phone, so communication could have been challenging, but nope... she left messages when I wasn't home, contacted me by e-mail, answered the phone when I called, called me back when she said she would. It was no problem at all. I simply do not have the words for how amazing the customer service she provided is. She knows her product and is friendly and efficient, and honestly... I don't know if I've ever met someone with such good problem solving skills. It's not as simple as just ordering a floor... there is delivery and install and multiple people that are involved before that finished product ends up becoming a part of your home. She handled every step of the process beautifully, no matter what issues arose, keeping me updated every step of the way. Thanks to Cindy... I have a beautiful floor that works great for my son. It was installed by move-in date and within the budget I had to work within. I am now surrounded by boxes that I need to find time to unpack while trying to get my old house on the market. I have a ton of things to do and worry about, but the floor isn't one of them. Cindy took that stress off my plate. The installers she sent did an incredible job. I'd been very nervous about hiring for the floors, because I haven't had much luck with hiring for anything. I end up doing most things myself, but I knew a genuine hardwood floor was not in my skillset. I put out feelers on a website, asking for referrals. Lumbar Liquidators was one of those recommendations. I'm glad I used them. I know this review is long, but I have not been satisfied with the customer service AND workmanship of a company for over 30 years. Things have changed, and not for the good. So... since this kind of service is evidently rare (or I just have really bad luck lol), I am taking the time to share this with anybody out there that is trying to find someone they can TRUST to get their floors done. He asked me to send him the estimate when it was completed and he would see if, "we could work something out." 04 JAN 12 - Met with my attorney to discuss the way forward. 05 JAN 12 - Received estimate from other contractor to finish work. $1273.06. 06 JAN 12 - Brought in remaining documentation for attorney to review. Drafted response letter with attorney and sent letter and copy of contractor invoice to Nick Button's attorney. 13 JAN 12 - Attorney received a call from Nick Button's attorney. He was inquiring whether or not if Nick Button paid the $1,273.06, if this matter would be settled. 17 JAN 12 - Met with attorney. Advised him that yes, if Nick Button finished the work or paid $1,273.06, the issue would be settled. 19 JAN 12 - Met with my attorney. To date, he had not heard back from Nick Button's attorney. 03 FEB 12 - Received letter from Nick Button's attorney offering $250 settlement (19.64% of requirement to complete work). 05 FEB 12 - Met with attorney, received advice on going to small claims court or to continue the letter process. 08 FEB 12 - Filed small claim paperwork for $1273 and change to have work finished. 15 MAR 12 - Settled for $680 as I was tired of dragging this issue out. Boulevard Building Company, LLC was court ordered to pay $680 not later than 06 APR 12 or pay $1273.06 in full after that.

All of the stove pipes and exhaust/sewer vents were painted a nice matching color. The work looks to be perfect. The cleanup was spotless - no nails and no pieces of shingles laying around. They were careful and moved my deck furniture, swing and grill out of the way and back in place when finished. They did everything in ONE day. The weren't cheapest but very close and I am so glad I chose them over the other firms who came and gave estimates. I am a fan and would recommend Sonntag to everyone.
