We just got a new car, and found out that the open trunk would hit the garage door if we weren't careful, and we didn't want to worry about this. Wow. I called Baldwin this morning, Jake stopped by this evening after two other calls, and fixed the problem right then. I wouldn't ever call anyone else after this great service. I depend on reading reviews before I call, and his reviews sounded almost too good! But, they weren't. I hope you take this as a sign. read more

Good guy, great repairman. Clean, honest and efficient. Well priced. Also, does great work!

Honest, good pricing, and responsive. That about covers it. Won't go to anyone else.

Highly recommend! Jake came out a few hours after I called and not only was able to fix a broken spring and more on one garage door, but pointed out things that needed attention on my other garage door, offering to just take care of it. He was true to his word on the price he quoted on the phone, even though the first door ended up being more work than originally estimated and he did work on the second door. And he was fast! read more

Jake came out the same day, fixed the broken roller causing us problems, and leveled the track, hopefully taking pressure off the new roller so it doesn't suffer the same fate. Great communication, fair price, and top-notch responsiveness. Much appreciated! read more

Jake responded quickly to give us a quote. He completed the repair in a timely manner and for the price he quoted. Excellent work

My garage door would not go up or down. Another prominent garage door company that I had heard advertised came and quoted that I needed a new motor, rollers, and weather stripping with a grand total well over $1000. I called Baldwin for a second estimate. Jake came out the next morning, quoted that he could do a tune up, and had my garage door going in about 30 minutes for a mere fraction of the cost and operating more smoothly and quieter than I remember in a long time. I thank God for Jake and his honesty and integrity. I did not have the extra money to spend on something that wasn't necessary after all! I highly recommend this small business. No fancy jingle of which I am aware, just a small business owner doing what's right for his customer. He is the Garage Door Whisperer...Thank you, Jake!! read more

I backed into our garage door this evening knocking the garage door off its tracks and lodging it into the trim of the house. I thought for sure we were going to need a new garage door. In desperation I called the first number that came up in a Google search and called. Baldwin was at my house in 30 minutes and fixed it in under 15 minutes. I walked back into my house and told my kids and my daughter said 'I think Jesus sent an angel'. Quite literally I think it may be true. I will undoubtedly call Baldwin again the next time I have any garage door problems. read more

Highly recommend! Jake showed up in a mask, did a complete review of the door and opener before replacing the broken spring. He showed my how to properly lubricate all components properly and left me feeling much better about our setup. LOOK NO FURTHER. THIS IS YOUR LOCAL GARAGE DOOR EXPERT! read more

Like other great reviews I can only agree. Jake came by right on time and inspected and provided me a quote in 10 minutes. What I really appreciate about him was he didn't tell me I needed to replace parts that didn't needed to be replaced. He's straight forward and even did a few additional servicing that wasn't part of the original quote. This is a local business and isn't a major brand that sends subcontractors out. I couldn't be more pleased and will refer his business to anyone in need of garage repair or full install. read more

Called Jake at Baldwin Garage Doors and Gates in a panic. My house suffered wind damage with the crazy recent winds. My garage door was damaged. I called Jake at approximately 2:30 PM to report my incident. Jake returned my call immediately, asked a few questions, and requested photos of my garage door, so he can determine the brand, and recommend what repairs were necessary. Jake arrives 1/2 hr early with my garage door. He even provided reinforcements do the sane issue should not occurs again. Jake was super friendly, polite, professional, experienced, impeccable workmanship, personable and his prices were more than reasonable!! Thank you Jake, for EVERYTHING My new go to guy, and I would 100% recommend Jake to anyone I know.' read more

The top right garage door wheel popped off the track when the door hit a ladder while opening (oops). Called Baldwin, they answered on the first call, set the appointment for the next morning, and showed up on time. Angel was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. He had the wheel back in its track in a matter of minutes. He then proceeded to lube the chain, wheels, springs, and hinges. He demonstrated that everything was working smoothly (and quietly). Everything was written up and signed out within 30 minutes tops. I will call them for future needs and recommend them to anyone looking for garage door pros. read more

I had a garage door and motor that had survived well beyond its life expectancy. By the time I started searching for a repair/installation co. the door had fallen off its hinges. I got a quote from another company but went with Jake @ Baldwin because of his honesty, upfront and detailed description of the quality parts he uses and fairness in his pricing. Jake did an amazing job replacing our entire garage door system. He did the work as promised -- on-time, on-budget and expertly installed. Jake followed up to ensure we were happy with the install and even paid us a second visit for a minor adjustment making the garage door even more quiet, at our request. Jake is truly a great guy! He's one of those go-to people you want to have in your back pocket and refer to all of your friends. (But not too many now! We still want him to be available for our next project.) read more

I called because I was having a problem with my garage door opener. I had spoken to another repair company earlier who said it sounded like my opener was on the fritz and would need to be replaced at a cost of $550. Jake answered and, once I explained the problem, he said it should be a simple fix that I could do myself. He was right. I had the opener working in about 5 minutes based on his instructions on how to fix it. I can't thank Jake enough for being an honest and forthright vendor. He saved me a lot of money today and if I ever need anything garage door related, Jake will have my business for life! read more

Great response time, friendly service, good recommendations for ongoing maintenance, good value for the money. Thanks, Jake!

Not enough good words to be said. Jake quickly returned my call for service. He was able to fix my large garage door so it worked until we could order and replace both sets of doors. Did I mention I have dogs and he had to access a gate which didn't close by itself and he fixed that too. My doors new doors arrived a week later! They were expertly installed. The job site was cleaned, and swept and was cleaner than when he arrived. My old doors were hauled away. I would highly recommend this company. I chose Baldwin doors because he had good ratings and was a local Moorpark company. read more

Jake is honest, straight-forward and incredibly fair...don't bother with anyone else, ever again

I called Baldwin this morning to come take a look at our broken garage door. Jake was able to come same day, around 3pm. He gave us a reasonable and straightforward estimate of the work, and we agreed for him to come back tomorrow. Then, he had another job shift and he ended up being able to replace our garage door motor this afternoon! It was so amazing that he was able to do good, reasonably priced work same day. Very impressed. The new motor is also so much less noisy! Now I don't have to worry about it waking my son up. I will absolutely call Baldwin Garage Doors again if we encounter any more issues, and highly recommend them. read more

Great experience and I would recommend Jake to anyone. My husband and I recently bought a house in Ventura County and the garage doors were totally shot. He talked us out of replacing the wood garage doors and suggested we just get them painted instead as he thought there was probably 20 years of life left in them. He then quoted us a very reasonable amount for three new good quality motors, three new springs (he said one didn't need replacing but we opted to have them all done at the same time while we were at it) and rollers/hardware to improve the old, existing hardware to be more effective and more quiet. He showed up within the time frame he said he would which was much appreciated as I had to drive an hour to get to the property. He then worked six hours straight with no break to get the job done so I could get back in a timely way. Now we are finally moved in and every time we use our new, quiet, effective garage doors with all the bells and whistles we are thankful. Really one of the easiest experiences we had in fixing up our new-to-us house. read more

I called because light on opener was flashing and garage door wouldn't close. He told me something is blocking the sensor and he was right. The bike rack on the back of my car was blocking it. Moved my car forward and door closed. Will definitely call him when I have a real issue with the garage door!! read more

Our garage door wasn't working. It wouldn't go up or down. Same day service and he had the part on his truck. Very impressed!

I made an appointment with Jake to come to my home to look at my driveway & make a bid for a powered sliding gate. The entrance is on a curve & with a slope so there is a challenge. Jake seemed to have trouble explaining how he would install the gate. I asked about pilasters & he said that he doesn't do pilasters which concerned me since many nicer gates include pilasters. Lastly, Jake said he was busy the following week but would get back to me the 2nd week. He didn't! So I finally called him back. He said he was in the middle of a job & would then call. He hasn't. My beef is that if he is not interested or unable to do my challenging job he should say so & let it go at that. Very unprofessional! read more

On Christmas day my garage wouldn't open and was frozen due to the cold weather. I was going through my phone and called Baldwin Garage Doors not knowing if someone would answer with it being Sunday Christmas day. Someone answered the phone his name was Jake. I asked him if he was open today as I felt so bad for calling him on a holiday weekend. He was so kind and said he would help me. He showed up and was able to get the garage door open. I just want to say Thank you Jake for being so kind and helping me. He also gave me a price to fix the garage motor which was a reasonable deal. I will be having Baldwin Garage Doors fix my garage. This business is kind, helpful and reasonable and care about their customers. Thank you Jake you are great! Happy Holidays from my family to yours!!! read more

I contacted Jake because of the great reviews. However, he disappointed me twice by making an appointment and not showing up. The second time, he did even call to cancel. When I called, his response was he was very busy and I'm too far from his normal area of service. He should have never made the appointments and his behavior towards me was very unprofessional. I was going to recommend him to several friends, neighbors and family members who happen to live near him. read more

Did a great job fixing our garage door and reinforcing it so it doesn't bend again. Very professional, I would definitely recommend.

Another satisfied customer. Jake came by gave a fair bid and was able to get the work done in a relatively short amount of time. The doors look great, openers are both operating, and everything functions. No complaints here. read more

My garage door would not open, so I called Jake to schedule ASAP. He was able to come by the same afternoon to fix my G/D. Because he was able to do so in less than a few moments, he offered to do it gratis, which I was not comfortable with so I offered him $50 for his trouble and gas. I will be using him and Baldwin going forward for my needs. My previous garage door repair vendor could not schedule today despite the emergency, so they are now history! Thanks again, Jake!! Excellent experience with Jake Baldwin at Baldwin Garage Doors & Gates in Moorpark. We contacted Jake about a new overhead door opener. We were on his schedule within a week, he arrived with all the necessary materials for the installation, and the job was complete and done to our total satisfaction within 90 minutes. Best part is he was professional and reasonably priced. We found him through online reviews. Glad we did. I highly recommend Jake. read more

Tremendous service again by Jake. Second time I used him. Apparently my usual garage door guy wasn't properly greasing my tracks or chain drive whenever he would come by to check out any issues on both of my openers. Jake explained why I was having issues and corrected them. My carriage shredded on my track because it was basically metal on metal. Who knew that part of the system required grease? Then he looked at my springs overhead and said "there's part of your problem. Those are the wrong type of springs". After taking care of the several issues I had with both openers, all of which the other guy should have caught (seeing as how he installed the incorrect springs), Jake went back to the gate opener on my alley and gave me a tutorial on taking care of that system and chain as well. Plus he programmed two new remotes on the spot. Needless to say, I erased my former technician's name from my contacts. It's Jake and only Jake from now on. Plus he charges the same for service calls as did my former guy who is here in Ventura. Reliable. Honest. Thorough. Jake. read more
