Came here as a group of 5 for dinner with work colleagues. They were some really great highs and…read morethen some really bad lows with the dishes, hence 3 stars. Along with the uneven food, the service was indifferent as well, which contributes to the overall "A-ok!" 3-star score which is a shame really, as some of their dishes were just so good! So to start with the high - if you are a vegetarian, then let me tell you the good news / the veggie dishes here tasted spectacular! I LOVED the eggplant & green beans- in fact the hum of delight I inadvertently gave out when first tasting the eggplant dish caused one of my co-diners, who dislikes eggplants, to give this dish a go. There was a beautiful creaminess and bright Unami-ness to this dish. The eggplant was absolutely my favorite dish of the night, followed quite closely by the green beans! Those beans were so bright and crispy! Loved the strong crunch they produced in my mouth. Next favorite in rank was the lamb with cumin and onions. I've never had such aggressive cumin seasoning in a Chinese restaurant dish before, but this was good! The lamb maybe could have been more tender but overall it wasn't too shabby. We also got a popcorn spicy chicken dish as well as a soupy fish curry - both of which I massively disliked the taste of. The chicken just tasted off and old - the individual pieces were also too oily. The fish had this aggressive peppery seasoning that would just taste weird in the mouth. The curry tasted soapy to me. When it came to Service, we just couldn't seem to get the waitress's attention. Our rice bowl got empty and it took a while for her to get us a refill. Water wasn't bought to our table either and it was just a pain trying to get any server's attention once all the food had arrived. BTW, the reason I don't know the names of the dishes we ordered is because of our colleague is Chinese-American and we asked him to do the ordering for us. He also paid the bill, so no idea about cost. Overall, in conclusion, I'd definitely return for anything vegetarian, but be cautious of anything with meat or fish on the menu. Yelp 152/ 2019

Great food - take a quick look and you will see the place full of Chinese people. That's got to…read morecount for something? Quick and efficient service. Not too rude (at the risk of benchmarking to a stereotype), not too cold, but at the same time there wasn't much of a recommendation in terms of what to order. OK - I suppose I can deal with that one. Food selection seemed pretty authentic and varied with everything from chicken gizzards and duck tongue to tripe and intestine mince. They even had a decent vegetarian selection. I ordered the lamb with cumin and the pork ribs with prawns. Both were spicy but differently so. The pork noodles was excellent. Highly recommended!

This very popular Chinese offers a tremendously diverse menu in comparison with your average…read moretakeaway and offers a pleasant culinary experience whether you're eating in or taking away. As with most Chinese restaurants, soothing flute instrumentals of popular songs are played at a low volume for customers and the tables inside are decorated with red and white tablecloths and laid out with both chopsticks and knives and forks. The menu offers all the usual curries, stir fries and starters you'd expect, but then exceeds expectations with its diverse selection of seafood dishes, all of which sound very appetising, but are sadly quite pricey. Pale, click-and-fit wooden floors and white wallpapered walls give the restaurant a sort of clinical feeling and the ambience inside definitely isn't quite up to scratch, but the staff are friendly and relaxed (they don't try to rush you out of your seat) and in my experience, the food is always of a good standard.

Seriously top notch Chinese food…read more What I ordered over 2 visits within a 4 day period... - Crispy seaweed Great little appetizer that is the perfect combo of salty sweet. Enough for 1 or 2 people max. - BBQ spare ribs NOTE: this is chinese BBQ, not American BBQ style -- so the sauce is a thick red color, that's perfectly sweet and spicy. Meat was the perfect amount of tenderness, where the meat falls off the bone, without ALL of it coming off at once. Great value, decent portion size. Enough for 1-3 people. - Duck Pancakes The name puts a lot of Americans off, but anyone who has tried this, always orders it again. I'd say 70% of the tables in the restaurant had this item... duck is really well butchered, cooked and falls straight off the bone. Plum sauce is perfect, everything perfect. So good. 1/4 duck enough for 1-2 people. - Crispy shredded beef Crispy, and sweet. Exactly what you crave when you decide it's a chinese food kinda night. I've had other versions of this where the beef strands are a little bigger, that I actually prefer, but the dish was still good. Good portion size 2-3 people - Crispy squid Salty, crispy, with sweet dipping sauce. More of the same -- another awesome dish that satisfies everything you look for in a chinese meal. Prices can run up to 20 per person for food, with approx. 1 starter and 2 entree dishes (you'll be full!)... Worth every penny and already craving it again!
