Having just arrived in the UK this morning, I was feeling jet-lagged and homesick as I waited for my UK colleague and her spouse to pick me up for dinner. Boy did they pick the perfect place to ditch the fatigue and melancholy! I love Thai food, but there are limited options in Denver. This restaurant was something completely new! I was lucky to have my colleague order for all 3 of us (the portions are meant to be small bites to encourage sharing as well as sampling more of the menu). Nothing disappointed. It was all cooked exceptionally well. The true test was the Pad Thai. The noodles were silky and cooked just right to avoid clumping together. The curry dishes were the ideal combination of lots of meat, some vegetables and just enough sauce to pour over rice but not so much that it feels like it's going to waste. We also enjoyed duck spring rolls, something they referred to as prawn biscuits (fantastic and totally new to me), and a spicy marinated beef dish. This place is cute. The front is all door which are all open on nice days. The drunken noddles were flavorful, never had celery in a spring roll never will again but that's just me. Overall this was probably the best food I've had in Warwick sense I've been here all week. The only reason it's not a higher rating is I didn't feel like I was welcomed to eat there in the beginning. The manager told me "you know this is Thai food." Wasn't sure what he really meant but that wasn't needed. read more

We arrived in time for an early lunch and were seated at the front of the restaurant which was completely open - this means fresh air, sunshine and the hustle and bustle of Swan Street (screaming children). As the tables around us filled up, we noticed the clientele was mainly businessmen having meetings. I guess if you want to impress a client with your sophistication, you could do worse that take them to The Art Kitchen. The service was efficient though almost comically abrupt. Soft shell crab: Even though it's a starter, it's a £12 starter, so I was pleased to see plenty of crab on the plate. I did not expect deep-fried crab to be so juicy and flavourful. The batter's delicate crunchiness complemented the crab instead of just encasing it. The salad was crisp and fresh with a tasty dressing. The Pad Thai looked amazing sitting on a square of banana leaf. The crushed peanuts were mysteriously secreted under a corner of the banana leaf - good to have the option, I merrily mixed them in. This enhanced the perfect sweet and sour flavour of the dish which was expertly calibrated to satisfy and not overwhelm. The noodles were just right although the sauce was on the oily side. The prawns were a let down compared to the juicy crab starter - rubbery and not much flavour. Next time I will make use of the lime, which I neglected even though it was skewered into the middle of the dish. I ordered the deep fried ice cream out of skepticism. Five minutes later this miracle of science appeared before me in the form of a scotch egg. A scotch egg where the egg is ice cream and the meat is dough. Visually, it's very satisfying to cut into the "egg" and have ice cream ooze out. The outside is perfectly crispy, the inside of the dough is on the bready side which is ok as it's soaked in ice cream. The ice cream wasn't your average vanilla - very rich and intense flavour. I was not a fan of the cooked banana slices - there's just something slimily sinister about warm banana. Warm like it had been in someone's pocket all morning. Thankfully there is more to The Art Kitchen than banana (nice leaves though) and I look forward to returning! read more

Special, luxurious Thai food with great service. The decor is much nicer downstairs than where we got put upstairs, so book early if you want to secure a good seat! It's very romantic downstairs with beautiful lighting and not too many tables. I didn't enjoy the starters that much (Prawn and coriander dumpling on a lemongrass lolly stick and Trio of prawn, chicken and crab cakes) They both tasted like processed surimi, deep fried, but others at the table disagreed. I also had a special of Angus Beef Noodles in Broth, it tasted a bit like a strange version of pho, the broth was very rich and the thick noodles were okay, but the beef was dry and overcooked. It was a shame. My main of Plar Prik Tai Sod was described as fried whole seabass and wasn't how I expected as it had been filleted and had a thin batter rather than being the whole, crispy fish. It was very good though, absolutely perfectly cooked and came with delicious sweet basil and peppercorns. It wasn't spicy at all but the menu says you can ask for the heat to be adjusted depending on preference. I would do this next time. Other dishes at our table were Pork Belly slow cooked in aromatic spices, which was delicious and fatty but not at all slimy, Special Thai Green Curry, which was exactly like I've had in Thailand and probably the star dish for authenticity and Minced Chicken Kra Prao which I didn't try but which was apparently very good. We also had some Stir Fried Brocolli in Oyster Sauce, it was delicious and perfectly cooked with a slight crunch. We finished with a Lemongrass Creme Brulee which looked and tasted incredible. We shared between 4 as it was very, very rich. Delicious! I think what makes Art Kitchen so good is the atmosphere and great extras, such as their designer water jugs with their wonky base. Honestly can't see what the fuss is all about. It isn't bad, but for a thai place it's certainly not a 5 (or a 4.7) star restaurant. It's small, they've got this stupid square table stone on the table top, on which they place the plates - the plates, as a result, spin constantly and uncontrollable when one tries to eat. Yes, I know it sounds retarded, and I wasn't doing anything wrong, it's one of those annoying logistical fuckups that cost a dining experience. Anyhow, I had duck roll - which, given the time it took for him to pop it out, and the fact that the meat in one was significantly drier than the other, was most probably microwaved. (What's the UK version of stouffers?) The main course, monkfish, was well blah. Again, not bad, but definitely not worth the constant raving I was subjected to at the hotel, in the taxi and at the restaurant bar whilst I waited for my table-for-one-on-a-weekday-at-a-small-restaurant-in-the-middle-of-nowhere. read more

We have had some really good lunches and dinners in the Art Kitchen. Very friendly service and a good range on the menu means that you can either have a light meal or something bigger depending how hungry you are. The Tom Yum and the Asparagus are particularly good as are the swimming crabs - a surprise one day was the in Indian Mango which was in season and absolutely fantastic - unlike the typical mangoes we usually get and quite a treat. I like the Art Kitchen, I always look forward to going and have never been disappointed. read more

i'm a big city girl and when i landed in Warwick on a Sunday afternoon two years ago, I didn't feel comfortable exploring the quiet town by myself. But there was no way I was going to starve myself or eat an apple crumble from the hotel for dinner. I took the cab, which the driver spoke really heavy English accent and i asked him to drop me off somewhere that i can find a decent restaurant. I ended up at this quiet street but as i kept walking down, i found this brightly lit restaurant called the Art Kitchen. I didn't know what to expect but I was starving and the food turned out amazing. The service was great and I went back to this place 4 times during my one week visit. My favorite dish was the San Nai Ob which is their signature dish with spiced marinated beef. read more

The food was really good. It was a good asian fusion but still authentic in their own little way. I did not expect good Thai food over here in Warwick. Nice Thai place. Decor is modern. Staff is nice. I had the nicely flavored Tom Yam soup with a huge prawn and it was good. I also had the signature dish, beef filet and it was really well prepared. Went here for a late lunch after visiting the castle. Close walk and the food was delicious! We had a beef curry, vegetarian curry and mixed vegetables and all extremely good. Service was great, will go there again next time we are in Warwick! read more

LOVED the food at The Art Kitchen!! It had such a great ambiance and I enjoyed date night with my fiancé very much!! The food was delicious and we told the manager how happy we were with everything because it was such a lovely evening. They were a bit busy, but I got my wine right after I ordered it, and our food was out in a reasonable time.
