The Kung Pao was disappointing with only 1 small piece of broccoli, the only other vegetables were white bok choy (no leafs) and carrots. The peanuts were dark and bad tasting, but the sauce was still good. The employee was very smiley and friendly. Realtor sign in the window. read more

I've had wok box several times when in the area. They have a pretty good menu with options for almost all dietary restrictions. The food is considered "fast food" but with a twist: Asian fusion! The place was pretty busy for lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the DAN DAN (EXTRA SPICY) (Add a little spice to your life but beware, the Dan Dan is not for the faint of heart with it's bed of hearty Hokkien over our firey hot chili sauce. *Disclaimer*: The Dan Dan may awaken your inner fire breathing dragon [sic from menu]) but subbed for their vegetarian udon noods. The meals come with a medley of vegetables and they don't skimp on them which is really nice. Plus, they don't load up on cheap vegetables. You get carrots, onion, broccoli, and cabbage; finished with cilantro, sprouts, and lemon. The flavours were really good and the regular size is really 2 meals in one (for me). They are not kidding when they say it was spicy! I had to add extra lemon juice, cilantro, and soya to mine! Plus I added their vegan chick*n which are thick, long strips of pretty good fake chicken. It was very good and extremely reasonable. The service was ok. The guy that served us was not overly friendly but one of their cooks was pretty lighthearted and friendly. The only comment I could make was the state of their cooking area. It didn't look overly clean and quite greasy. While we waited for our meals, we got a birds eye view of it and was kind of put off by the looks of it. read more

Coupons got me walking to Wok Box. We tried Wok Box with a buy one get one free with a drink purchase. Luckily we came in on a Tuesday and that daily deal of the day was 20% off their most popular choices, which we were surprisingly allowed to use with our coupon - amazing deal! My boyfriend chose the Dan Dan Noodles and I ordered the Pad Thai. Then you could hear the flames go and the wok being flipped around. After about 10 minutes we were presented with our meals. I have to say if you ever had Dan Dan Noodles or Pad Thai - this is not authentic at all. The true flavours of those dishes were not present at all. My Pad Thai had more of a sweet soy sauce flavour to it and didnt have any of the traditional ingredients besides from the bean sprouts. Essentially Wok Box to me is, flame wok'd food of your choice of protein and veggies mixed with a generic sauce then placed on top of a carb of rice or noodles. If your dish is spicy, they do honour that and make it quite spicy. Depending on the dish, they seem to over saturate in sauce as well. All in all, despite the lack of traditional flavours and selling these dishes to the unbeknownst people thinking it's real asian cuisine - the protein and veggies are fresh and they do give you a decent portion for the price (with a discount or coupon). Without a deal, I probably wouldn't make this a regular place but with a good coupon I might wok back to Wok Box. read more

I ordered the Red Thai rice box with chicken. I doubt there was 1 oz of chicken, it was all but non existent. The veggies were soggy and tasteless. The rice was dry. All of this for $18.00 - I will never eat at this place again. Don't waste your money here. read more

delicious food & good portions - not sure why people are complaining about the size. ordered the tokyo beef poutine and got a bowl the size of my head - same with the butter chicken poutine. it was hot and crispy and the food was flavourful without being excessively spicy. ordered with friends who got the Dan Dan and orange chicken with rice? again they were crispy and in some of the biggest bowls ive seen, full to the top and hot. got 3+ scoops of rice with the orange chicken and it was perfectly cooked and the fries are some of the best and crispiest ive had. one of my favourite places to go for food or order from skip read more

Wok Box - Tokyo beef poutine and bang bang shrimp - Asian Fusion Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

Thee WORST of EVERYTHING!!! I seriously do not understand how this place has not yet shut down for good. We ordered a beef dish with vegetables. Instead we got a shrimp dish and my husband has allergies to shellfish. We ordered a crispy chicken with rice, we got a soggy chicken. We ordered won ton soup- it was ok, but less than half full. If you buy 2 combo specials, you get their spring rolls, well.... they forget all of the 6 spring rolls and when we called them back after many attempts- no one picks up the phone!!!! You guys should not be in business period. We will never ever go back! read more

I ordered the Sweet Mongolian with beef and it was really good! The beef was flavourful and tender, and the udon was perfectly cooked. You can definitely tell the ingredients are fresh! The portions are also very generous. I got a regular size and I was pretty full, even though I had just finished a hike. The restaurant also seems to take COVID-19 precautions very seriously. The bathroom was much cleaner than one would typically expect of a fast food place, there were multiple bottles of hand sanitizer, and the employees were all wearing masks and gloves. read more

I think this place is too pricey! Really expensive. We've ordered the Spring Rolls and it wasn't that great. The only good thing about the Spring Rolls is that they were hot and crispy, but the taste was bleh! It was just salty and no flavour at all. And then we ordered the Korean Firecracker, it was terrible! The kimchi tasted like it was spoiled! Ugh... Worst experience ever. The only reason why I'm not giving them a 1 star is that the cashier and server was really nice and the place was clean too. read more

No sure if it's the same owner now. But swung by wok box this afternoon. Was pretty busy waited 20 mins for my food. Ordered the Dan Dan noodles which I usually love but this time it was way to spicy I could barely eat it. Also Ordered the ginger beef which was very rubbery and difficult to chew. I really hope this place is not one of those "it used to be good but not so good anymore places". I'm willing to give this place another shot but if I receive the same quality I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I would give this a zero if I could. I will NEVER step into a Wok Box EVER again. Reasons: 1. Rip off pricing. (I got a regular sized pad thai and a pop with an egg roll for over $14 - for lunch!?! Where is a Thai Express when I need one?) 2. The food is disgusting. (How can you screw up Pad Thai? Wok Box's had no flavor, it was just noodles, veggies, and hot sauce, all I tasted was hot sauce. And I ordered beef pad thai, and they placed the beef on as a flavorless afterthought) 3. There are three franchisees at this place (as evidenced by the three "franchisee" business cards at the front. I think one of them took my order and called me "buddy" about 5 times. I'm not your F$%^ing buddy! Get a clue. It was nice inside, but then again this is brand new place. I guess that's what gets it a one star. And no high chairs so it's kid UNFRIENDLY. Hurry up and go out of business so we can get something else in there. If you are in that neighborhood, I would suggest going to OPA Greek. read more

It was just ok for us. Service was better than the food itself! Way over priced for the dinky, little portions we got. Probably won't go back anytime soon. read more

I really do not understand the reviews of this location of Wok Box. I have been here on multiple occasions for lunch and dinner and have had really good experiences. The service has always been top notch with smiles all around and quick food delivery. If you buy a regular sized portion not the lunch size it is huge! I eat allot and I have trouble finishing it most times. This is fast Asian food and as such is not a good as going to a higher quality establishment but it is still really tasty! They even serve beer witch is a plus all on its own! Yes it is a little pricey compared to other fast food joints of the same caliber but it is also better quality food than say McDonalds or Taco Del Mar. I only gave it three stars as that should probably be the top score for all fast food. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Wok Box for a quick lunch since she had to go home pretty early. We stopped by had something for lunch. Total for two people $20.80. Not worth the money in my opinion. Portions were awfully small. Ambiance: 2/5 nothing much to be said Food: 1/5 portion is so bad and the food isn't good either Price: 1/5 overly expensive Won't be coming back soon. For that price I would go to another place pay a bit more. Better food and better choices. At least it was semi fresh. read more

Soggy box of overpriced noodles isn't what I ordered but it's what I received. Like others have said the veggies and meat stay the same but the noodles increase. Rip off. Plus it took awhile for the staff to figure out I was there. Took 3 calls of hello each time a little louder to get someone to the front. I will skip this place in the future. read more

I've lived in the area for about 2 years and have never come here for a meal. Their menu is lot like Noodle box in Vancouver. As the name suggests, they have wok fried noodles and rice. I had Firecracker lunch size. The lunch size is definitely small. If you are super hungry or have a good appetite, I would definitely recommend skipping the lunch size. As for the price, I think it is little pricey but I do like that they have a kids' meal for a dollar (I think only on Mondays). As for the food, I thought it was delicious. I liked the combination of kimchi and the noodles. For me, it wasn't very spicy but for others with a delicate palate, this may be too spicy. As for the authenticity, I didn't come here looking for authentic Chinese or pad thai. If I wanted authentic food, I would go to a Chinese or a Thai restaurant. read more

This place is one of my favourites! Not only is the staff incredibly friendly, the menu items are completely customizable. Perfect for customers who have special diet requests. Low-carb, low-salt, gluten friendly, vegan, vegetarian... If you've ever wanted to look for a place that accommodates all of that, Wok Box is it! Be sure to let them know of your allergies (if you have any) and they'll accommodate you the best they can. The portions are totally shareable (aka large) so consider yourself warned - go hungry! The music they play is awesome, and they serve alcohol too (whilst still family friendly). Will be back for sure. read more

Wok Box - Thai Red on brown rice with extra basil and samosas on the side. - Asian Fusion Near Me - Surrey, British Columbia

Yes, it is too pricey for what it offers. The choices are limited, but that's fine since this is a fast food outlet. What's not fine is the bland quality of the food, even when you order something advertised as spicy or hot. I ordered a "sumo" box of noodles and stir fry; my wife had a smaller version of a different stir fry. The only difference between the two sizes was noodles, loads of noodles, far too many noodles. Veg and meat were the same, and minimal at that. Even then, I would have enjoyed the super noodle fest if the sauce was tasty. It wasn't. It was bland and so runny that it gathered at the bottom of the box instead of coating the food. You might as well go to Safeway on 24th and 152nd. Still, it's better than a burger and fries joint, so it gets two stars. read more

I've ordered from here or gone there multiple times in the past. This time, in my Skipthedishes order, the broccoli was rotten. Not just a little, it was mushy, yellow, black, ROTTEN. I ate part of the meat and rice, then had a piece of broccoli so bitter I spat it out. Skipthedishes refunded my money but I doubt I will ever even consider going back or ordering again. Disgusting... read more

The food isn't that bad, just really far from being authentic. Hell even some food court Chinese tastes more authentic than this. Go with a Groupon and you can't really lose. Good filler food for when you are hungry and crave 'Canadian - Chinese'. read more

The biggest complaint I see written here is 'too pricey!" What the hell is too pricey? Their regular size items are ~$10. If that is too pricey, move to Thailand to get some authentic dishes for a fraction of that price. Food (Flavor/Quality) 4/5 The food here is not going to blow your socks off with explosive flavor; but, most of their boxes are actually pretty decent. I personally enjoy spicy food and I think the heat rating on their food is fairly accurate. My wife was even complaining about one of their single flame ranked dishes being almost too hot for her. So if you are a little sensitive to spice, be aware of their hotter dishes. I do not know if they can substitute the vegetables in the dishes but they should be able to tone down the heat. As far as I can tell this food is the next best thing to fresh because all of it is frozen before they grill it. For a quick meal, the food here is pretty delicious. They have a lot of options and a range of spice levels, Dan Dan being the hottest (stay away from this if you are not that crazy about spicy food). I have been here a dozen times and the food is always consistently cooked. The noodles are done well and the vegetables/meat are hot and tasty! Value 4/5 As someone else suggested, look for Groupon deals if you are bent on the expensive pricing. Honestly I can not comment on the comparability of their pricing because I simply do not frequent Southeast Asian fast food all that often. But, when I hear too expensive on fast food that costs ~$10 I just think how much cheaper would it need to be to satisfy the shallow pockets of such complainers? Service/Cleanliness 3/5 This is where this place really needs some improvement. I do not know if it is just this particular Wok Box or what but every time I visit this place 1/2 of the tables have left over dishes and/or crumbs strewn about the tables. The employees behind the counter are generally just standing around waiting for an order so they have something to do. Well, cleaning your dirty tables when there is nothing to do would certainly help out. I am always greeted with a smile and a friendly employee to take and prepare the order. As a tip to the owner, asking your employees to table serve your customers (especially when there is no one else in the restaurant) would certainly go a long way. Unless if there is some sort of a health clause that is preventing this from happening, I think your business would really benefit from this. read more

Innocuos stir fry restaurant. I'm used to the real deal when it comes to noodles and rice as my Chinese mother in law is a fantastic cook. Wok box offers Korean, Singaporean, chibes, and Japanese items on the menu. Problem is what we ordered all kind of tasted the same. The noodles were missing that wok taste you get at an authentic place, and the stir fry sauces were two notes: salt and sweet. There was a lack of any other spice to the dishes. On top of this the noodles came with too much sauce and we're literally swimming in a salty stir fry sauce. For $10 or $11 it cost, go find a real Chinese, Vietnamese, or Korean place you'll enjoy it so much more. In the lower mainland we have so many great authentic places, that you don't need to settle for wok box when you want some noodles and rice. read more

Ew. I had a major pregnancy craving for noodles so decided to finally try this place. The noodles we're flavourless, the veggies looked sad and were not fresh and undercooked. The beef was chewy. The bang bang shrimp was the only thing I enjoyed but nothing special. I could have made this at home and it would have been half the price and a millions times better. Plus my fortune cookie I got said I would receive good advice soon - well my husband said we should def not order from here again so I guess that was on the mark! Ew. read more

Ethnic food FAIL. Two reasons: 1. Terrible food. Ordered ginger beef which turned out to be deep fried (last thing I'd have wanted) beef in a thick, sticky, massively sweet, corn syrup based sauce. Not a trace of ginger, either. This is fake Asian food for people who don't actually like Asian food. 2. Expensive. My little lunch-in-a-box to go with one helping of the crappy beef and a scoop of overly-mushy rice set me back a nervy 13 smacks. read more

Upon walking into the restaurant with my boyfriend, it was completely spotless. We were served immediately, and the counter attendant was super friendly. I ordered a small pho, and my boyfriend got the butter chicken. Our food was up in a reasonable time, and it was delicious. The soup base was flavourful without being too strong, and the beef and noodles were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend felt there was too much sauce, but he ate it all, so it can't have been that bad. About the prices - I worked at Wok Box for 9 months (in Alberta), and I can vouch for the ingredients. Everything is cooked to order, and all the ingredients are fresh. Carrots, onions, etc are chopped in the restaurant, and the soup base is made from scratch. That being said, I am comfortable paying what I do as I know the food is fresher than most restaurants. Definitely will go back, and definitely recommend. read more
