Fast service, but the Ca. state average for Feb. 2024' is $2.63 a Gal. They are charging $3.40. ,So, my 246.4 Gallons cost me $188. more than the Avg. cost for the state for this exact date. BTW, I rent my tank from them, I have a perfect record of timley pmts. As well, I have in the past written 5 star ratings in the review sites. I now say they are over priced but have the same good service. The question I must ask myself is do I change suppliers because of the $188. higher price? read more

Sadly Benz Propane was sold to Waste Management effective 3/1/19. Benz was awesome. However, Benz began reducing and making adjustments in late 2017 into 2018 as the sale was eminent. . I have been assimilated into Waste Management but have not been pleased with their service and pricing in the past as they have repeatedly gouged me as a refuse service customer. Since LA County engaged in a contract and some regulations to protect consumers against gouging, WM have reluctantly complied...but still blatantly charge different prices to neighbor customers for the SAME SERVICES...depending upon what they feel they can get away with. Bought a house in Tehachapi in October, which came with a propane tank from Benz(Waste Management). Based on reviews we decided to go with another company and called WM to inform them to please pick up their unused tank. At first we didn't understand why many of our neighbors had 2 propane tanks, with one of them being WM, but now it makes sense. WM doesn't pick up their unused tanks!!! Here it is months later and i'm still sitting with 2 propane tanks. WM is terrible. read more

Just called for a Septic pump out...as usual Benz has the best price...I guess if I had outrageous prices like their competitors do...I would shill the reviews...like the other three reviews here. There is no doubt that shilling a company is way easier and more profitable than treating people "right" like Benz does. Ask your neighbor...ask someone that has a Benz service..They Rock !!!!! Agree with all the BAD reviews. Deserve -100 stars. Moved to Tehachapi and house came with this tank. To get another company required relocation of tank and trenching up our concrete driveway. Very expensive. So we hoped they see their ratings and have made improvements. Boy were we wrong. They dont give a damn about their ratings or customers. We called when we were @ 50% and was promised they'd fill. Well weeks have gone by and we knew snow was coming in so we called again and yet another promise not kept. Now we have over a foot of snow and only 30%. And now they want to blame the weather......even though we called at least a week before the snow storm was forecasted. Leaving them as soon as possible. Sucking up the high cost of getting a new tank and company. This place is HORRIBLE!!! read more

There isn't a rating low enough to give Benz. After dealing with them for 11 years, we had an issue regarding billing. We went down to speak with them and we were waiting for their explanation for an $1800.00 bill for two months. No call came but they did. With NO NOTICE, they came and pulled our tank. Imagine our surprise when we tried to make dinner that night. We live off the grid so we had few options open to us. When we noticed the tank gone at 4:10 pm, their office was closed. Life is hard enough without trying to deal with a company that has no CUSTOMER SERVICE. Look out Benz, you now have competition. You may want to treat your once loyal customers a little better. read more

I give them 0 stars! It all started in 2019 when I had Benz/waste management deliver the minimum of a 100 gallons. keep in mind it's just me and my spouse and we are hardly home, literally! So when I spoke with WM they stated that they would arrive within 10 business days and couldn't tell me what day they would be making the deliver so I had to basically just hope I'm home the day they would decide to deliver with no courtesy call to let you know the driver is coming as usual. So when the driver finally arrived (6 days later) it was some guy that had no clue what he was doing and even stated he was new as a propane operator. He pumped the propane in my tank I then proceeded to pay the guy and he stayed WM will bill me. So I was like are you sure I've always payed cash, but he was certain they would bill me so I went along with it. I left town for a week the same night and when I returned, the next morning I went out to the back yard to pick up my dogs droppings and as i got closer to the tank I began to smell what appeared to be propane and sure enough as I got even closer to the tank, I started hearing a loud hissing noise coming from a small valve so I turned it, in hopes that it would close witch it did and when I go to look at the gage all my gas was basically gone! So I thought hmmm that looks to me like an operator error but it's ok waste management would make it rite. Yea think again! Till this day all they could do for me was give me a $180 credit when I paid almost $400 for a 100 gallons. I don't know why this place gets a bad rap. I just purchased a home in stallion springs, and I have never used propane before. The guy who came to set up my service was extremely helpful. He showed me the components of the tank, he taught me about tank safety and he showed me how to light the pilot on my water heater and wall heaters. Both the man on the phone and the guy who helped me at the house were very responsive and friendly. read more

No starts would be better I'm pregnant and I have to take five minute showers semi cold because they don't have enough driver to come to California city. How the hell do they not have enough worker if there really isn't enough competition, yet they charged our card the first day and we have to wait 5/8 business days!!! read more

A perfect day for me would be a day when the owner and all employees of Benz Propane find "themselves" without heat in the middle of a snowstorm , and THEY are told in a flat "not our problem" tone of voice, that if THEY want propane delivered sooner than " 5 to 7 business days" , they will have to fork up an extra hostage fee of $85.00. If I could give Waste Management, formerly Benz Propane a negative review I would. After 10 weeks of repeated phone calls begging for help and being virtually ignored and lied to, I finally sought help from DELTA. Waste management left me with a propane leak for over 10 weeks and completely failed to send someone to help me. This situation could have been resolved if they had simply LISTENED and RESPONDED. If someone less persistent or unable to deal with the cavalier attitude at Waste Management had been in my position (think of the elderly in our community) they would be in a Dangerous situation and paying dearly for wasted fuel! Pulled into Benz Propane lot to fill motorhome with propane. Staff so rude i drove off !!! Would not give them any stars if I had my choice

Agreed with about all the negative reviews for this company. 2 weeks with our furnace completely disconnected for repairs followed by an additional week out of town with the thermostat set to 52, the house never got below 60 the whole time. Bill should be low right? No! Almost $80 more than the previous month when we were at home and the temps were dropping. We also found that the gauge seal was loose as others have and had to replace the Pig Tail, to which they charged us for. After this incident, we requested on-call only moving forward. They also disregarded this request by filling our tank without our permission. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere when looking for a propane company. 0 stars in my book. read more

Horrible company that don't care for their customers. We called for propane over a week ago and we ran out of propane since then, I called yesterday they said they would be out today and they didnt. So i called and they said a driver called in sick and they don't have enough drivers to cover our order so now they are saying they will be out tomorrow. It's 20 degrees and we have no heater or warm water with a baby at home. They need to hire more drivers and care about their customers a lot more. Looking for a new company. read more

I contacted Benz for a quote for servicing my residential propane tank which has a small leak from one of the valves. All went fine until I got a call back in which the contact person said that he was told by the service technician that they wouldn't be able to work on the tank because I owned it ( i.e. it wasn't rented or bought from Benz ) and that it had been years since I was an active customer. We use propane at a very low rate so it had been years since I needed it filled. The contact people I talked to were very friendly and professional but the reason for not doing business with me was very unprofessional. I found an alternate propane service who are coming out to service and fill my tank tomorrow. read more

Called Benz to check my tank. The boss showed up at my house within an hour. Replaced my regulator valve in minutes on a super cold day. Gave me some good advice on a hot water heater, checked my counter top stove, and was off. Also gave me a discount when I told him I paid full price for propane at Recycling Center. A sleezy propane company who takes money and gives nothing. Tell me this, how is it that a family of 3 buys propane 3 times (full fillups each time) in less than 5 months? I'll tell you how, when we finally ran out of propane the last time (2 weeks after fill up) we discovered a loose, leaky seal. Benz is known for cheating their customers by loosening the seals so that customers will have to keep purchasing expensive propane. After doing some investigation, I discovered that they have done this to several other customers. I will be filing a lawsuit against Benz propane, along with others who have been treated the same way. Good luck Benz, we hope to have you out of business by the end of the year. read more

First 4th of July in our new home after 8 years stationed overseas, and these guys decide to no-notice lock out our tank. Left a tag with a number that no one answers... so we get to spend the holiday weekend presumably with no hot water and eating out of the microwave. Terrible company. Drivers show up 1.5-2 weeks after calling them. "Sometime between 8AM and 4PM". Awesome, great help. They don't call when they are on their way, they don't knock when they get to your house, and if the gate *looks* locked, they don't even try to deliver, they just turn around. If there was any competition in the area, they would be out of business. read more
