My second experience was again...awesome! To prepare a foundation for a new pre-fab shed, three yards of gravel was required. The gravel is crushed limestone screening weighing approximately 8200 pounds. The gravel was hauled 100 feet from the driveway to the rear of the lot. TJ and James demolished the gravel pile in two hours ten minutes. Although the temperature was 92 in the shade, all the work was completed under the sun, with no cloud cover, and high humidity. TJ takes safety very seriously. To minimize the amount of time in adverse conditions, they worked smart and with a sense of urgency. Junk King charges by the truck load. 1 truck load is well over $500. A 30# dumpster costs about the same minus the labor to fill it. I hired the South Suburbs Junk King to remove items left behind from previous tenants not realizing exactly how much it was. I figured it was a truck load, but there were other items around the property I didn't see including a refrigerator; which I always put out at the curb for salvage guys to take for free. I had used Junk King on numerous occasions so I did not request an estimate when they arrived at the property. This was a painful mistake / omission on my part. I received a bill for nearly $1,700 for 3 plus truckloads. I got no phone call or advanced warning from the franchisee to let me know what the cost was going to be for the removal of these items. Had I had that information in advance, I would have definitely chosen a dumpster and labor as it would have been a third of the price. All the franchisee said was: "Sorry. Now we know for next time." Definitely NOT going to be a next time. Buyer beware when you hire this junk King franchisee for the South suburbs. Shady.
