I found Hit the Spot via a Google search. I read some of the reviews on Google and Yelp, which were…read morefavorable, and decided to give them a call. I reached out via email and phone initially before receiving a prompt response. During our initial phone conversation, Darius had mentioned that it I should order a new rug pad (which I did) since the pad is basically like a sponge. My dog and cat had both urinated on my brand new area rug, so I needed to have it cleaned. Darius called me back, and we went over my options. He explained the process in detail and told me how much time it would take and the cost. He explained that he could definitely get the smell of urine out of the carpet but probably wouldn't be able to eliminate the stain. My rug is wool, so the acid in the urine changed the color permanently, unfortunately. Initially, Darius was supposed to come on a Saturday, but I ended up having an emergency, so we had to push the date back by a couple of days. It wasn't a problem to get another appointment promptly. Darius and his brother Tariq arrived promptly and worked efficiently. They explained what they would be doing and why and also encouraged us to observe the process. They weren't able to get the dog urine stain out as predicted, but it probably won't be noticeable to visitors. I know it's there, but I doubt anyone else will unless I mention it. The rug looks good and smells great as well. Darius also took the time to explain how the rug should be cared for and that it should be cleaned yearly to prolong its life. It cost $125 to have an 8X10 area rug cleaned, which is reasonable. I added an additional $20 for the tip. They mentioned that they clean upholstery as well, so I'll probably have them come back and clean my barstools eventually. Both Tariq and Darius were affable, polite, and professional.
