Words cannot express how grateful we are to have contacted Witzig Painting! With local reports of insurance-company related drones flying around in our neighborhood looking to flag issues that could lead to homeowner's non-renewal notices, we knew that we needed to act fast to repaint an area of our home's exterior that the previous owners had made exterior changes to, but we were shocked to recently find out that they had someone paint over the replaced wood siding without first using any primer (!!!), so that area's substandard application of paint was starting to recently peel up in a few highly noticeable spots... yikes! Normally, this wouldn't have been such an urgent matter, but with the current stressful climate of insurance companies wanting to cancel as many policies in CA as they can, removing ANY possible issues, however small they might be, needed to be immediately addressed for our own peace of mind. So when I began to contact highly Yelp-rated companies to repaint this relatively small but time-sensitive job, we were informed that the entire area needed to be properly scraped, sanded, primed and then repainted in order for the paint not to peel up again in a short amount of time, and that a mere "touch up" without all the necessary prep work would definitely not last very long. Unfortunately for us, most of those reputable companies that came out to give us a quote were booked solid for weeks, and although some said they would "probably" be able to come out in between larger jobs, they understandably could not confirm a date for that. Enter Patrick from Witzig Painting, who not only gave us a highly competitive quote, but would also be able to squeeze us in during the very next week, after finishing a large commercial job in downtown Santa Cruz and a residential mansion in La Selva that they were scheduled to finish by the next week. I think it's important to share that it made such a huge difference to us that Patrick was sincerely empathic regarding our well-founded anxiety about taking care of this small but critically time-sensitive important project, as well as echoing the same professional concerns as the other reputable painting companies did about the necessity to properly prep and prime the entire area to ensure a long-lasting professional finish. Patrick's brother, Jack, would be doing the initial pressure wash, scraping, and sanding prep and priming work on the first day, and then both Patrick and Jack would finish the color-matched exterior coats of paint the day after. True to his word, Patrick kept in touch to confirm the date and time he and his crew would arrive, and they were exceptionally courteous and professional from start to finish. Our job was completed exactly as promised, with the paint matching perfectly with the rest of the house, and with a great-looking thick exterior coat that we will no longer be worrying about peeling for many years to come, although we do plan to stucco that exterior wall to match the exterior stucco of the rest of the house just as soon as we can budget it in. After we replace that side of our home with stucco, we will ABSOLUTELY schedule Witzig Painting to paint our entire house to their outstanding professional quality standards. read more

From a number of proposals, I chose Patrick (Witzig Painting) to paint my large deck. He was professional, did what was promised, and more. Patrick is a good communicator as well as being very knowledgable. All went very smoothly and it was actually quite a pleasant experience! I will certainly use Patrick again for any painting needs. read more

Patrick was responsive and thorough from the go. His team took extra time and care to prep our 120 year old porch and stairs before painting. They were punctual and finished the job on time. I intend to use them to take care of our historic home going forward! read more

While we didn't end up using Witzig Painting, I still wanted to leave positive feedback for Patrick. He is professional, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable. Undoubtedly, he would have done a great job on our home. We went with another highly recommended painter that our neighbors had used. That said, I would still have Patrick bid on our next job. His quote was competitive. read more

Patrick and his team did a fantastic job painting the interior of our home. We have a lot of wood work and they did a great job paying attention to detail. We're 100% satisfied with the work that they did and we would recommend them to anyone looking to get their home painted. read more

Our large backyard pergola was in desperate need of repair and staining. Since we are new to the area, I relied on Yelp and other online resources to select four painters. In general, we do not look at the lowest price. Communication, reliability, and quality of work outweigh the cost. The first two painters said they were too booked even to give an estimate. I called two other highly rated painters, and both responded with a visit quickly. Both painters told me I needed to replace 4 cross members because of termite damage. Termites had traveled through the vine that once grew on top of the pergola (we had the vine removed in February). The estimates were within 10%, but Painter 1 said I would need to hire a handyman to replace the bad beams. Lining up a handyman to do the job would delay the project. We chose Painter 2, Witzig Painting, who offered to replace the beams for time and materials. He gave a ballpark figure. Also, since he had just finished painting a large house, he had time to do our pergola project right-a-way. The project called for 1) Day 1 - Replace damaged beams 2) Day 2 - Powerwash the pergola 3) Day 3 - Sand the pergola 4) Day 3 and 4 1/2 - Apply two coats of stain. Pat Witzig the owner and 3 of his crew, kept busy from 9-4 each day (except 9-12 on Day 4). Pat was in constant contact with schedule and choices. The beam replacement was in line with the original estimate. They cleaned up every day. There was no spillage of stain. They used six gallons of stain. The completed work is excellent. The pergola looks new. Witzig also does some other small construction jobs. They paint kitchen cabinets. We are in the process of having them build two small fences in our front yard. I'll report on that project when it is complete. read more

After having our roof replaced there was a lot of repair work that needed painting. We decided to have the entire exterior of the house painted and Witzig Painting submitted the best estimate. They were able to get started in a couple of weeks when most of the other painters were booked months out. Patrick listened to my requirements and concerns, explained exactly what his plan was, and then delivered. The house looks great and we're very happy with the results! Thanks Patrick! read more

I was getting my house ready for market and originally got a quote from my real estate agent's painter that made my jaw drop. So I was referred to Patrick from a contact in the paint industry and he promptly showed up to give me a lower quote that I could live with. Because the house was about go on the market, there was also a time crunch. And luckily, Patrick was able to rearrange his schedule to accommodate my needs. Not only was he affordable and prompt, but he is just an overall nice person. I would recommend Patrick in a heartbeat. And next time I have a painting project, I'll be sure to call him. read more

The one most important thing that you can say about someone that you've entrusted with a service that absolutely MUST be done right, is that they are trustworthy. Patrick Witzig is that person. I hired Patrick to paint my business (Bay Bar & Grill in Capitola) inside and out. He not only crushed it, he didn't even trip when I kept continuously changing up the scheme!!!! 3 changes that I made (after he had already painted that particular surface, I can be like that), and he didn't even get pissed. I don't recommend doing it, but he's down like that. All for a VERY reasonable fee. He has amazing knowledge of colors and styles, gets the work done on time, and actually cares about the quality of his work. I recommend him with zero reservations. Patrick, you're the goods brother. Thank you for helping me make my vision become a reality. read more

Witzig painted my house interior. Patrick, the owner, is friendly and professional. I got several bids and Witzig gave a very good price. They were blazing fast. My ceilings are 20 ft tall and I didn't want to tackle that. I hired Witzig to do the common area. They covered all floors and furniture, puttied damage in the walls, did 2 coats: they came in and were out after 2 days. Patrick did small additional things that I asked without hesitation, he made sure I was happy with the finished product. I hardly noticed they were there. So glad I hired Witzig! read more

Extremely professional, prompt, and quality service. I contacted Patrick and he responded within the day and even managed to fit us into his schedule that same day to do a initial walkthrough of the property. Patrick showed up on time and kept everything clean and neat. He even made suggestions that made the house look even better! Definitely will recommend Witzig painting for any painting projects. read more

I'm so glad I found Patrick's service! After a sloppy handyman paint job, I consulted with 3 more painters who were too busy and then luckily Patrick fit my project into his schedule. He helped with advice about colors, the timing of different stages of indoor and outdoor work, and was super communicative, prompt, and professional the whole time. Thank you! read more

Patrick, the owner, and Patrick, his right-hand man, did (and are currently doing) an amazing job on our home. We hired Patrick to paint the interior of our house (the bathroom, bedroom and living room). We knew it wasn't going to be easy as we have an A-frame with high ceilings, wood walls, and wood paneling but they are doing a great job with a lot of attention to detail. I commend them as most contractors tend to come late or not at all but these two showed up on time everyday, were responsive, listened to what we asked for and did it without question and went above and beyond. They are also easy going fellas with a hard work attitude. If you need help in the paint department, Witzig Painting is the way to go. read more

I'm very happy to leave a 5 star review for Patrick Witzig Painting! He responded quickly to my request for a bid. Patrick advised and reassured me regarding my color choices. He and his crew painted the entire exterior of my home, front and back door, two types of siding surfaces and two colors plus trim. There was a great deal of prep work, sanding, caulking and cleaning to be done. They arrived on time, were courteous and efficient AND I did not have to endure loud obnoxious rap music! They always left the site clean. I'm very happy with the detailed attention given to the job, color and quality results. I highly recommend Patrick Witzig Painting! read more

Patrick Witzig and his crew were excellent! My house looks amazing, the attention to detail was exceptional and there was zero mess after. Patrick & Patrick were fantastic! They painted a living room & bedroom for me. Finished the job in one day. Competitively priced. Very professional. And -- best of all - they were incredibly thorough and took great care around the windows, trim, and ceiling. Patrick painted the exterior of my house in 2012 and I hired him again to do some finish work after an interior remodel this winter. I am so extremely impressed with his work and how he runs his business. He's prompt (unusual in the construction industry), friendly, quick, and has great attention to detail. He was really conscientious about keeping our living area tidy during and between his painting sessions, and completely cleaned up when he was done. My house looks great and I'd recommend Patrick to anyone who needs a painter. read more

Patrick & Patrick just did a great job painting two rooms in our house. I'm very happy with the result and will consider using them again.

Professional. Knowledgeable. And very cool. To me, that's the trifecta that's hard to find in skilled workers. I'm usually pretty wary of just going off of Yelp reviews to find good help, because you just don't know which of those qualities are going to be lacking. Patrick and his crew are the real deal though. I hired him to paint our kitchen cabinets and from the initial conversation to the final clean up, they were total pros and took the time to do the job right. They spent a full day prepping and masking, then came in the next day to spray. They were able to do the job without having to remove the doors, but still managed to spray under the hardware, which ensured the everything aligned perfectly as it should. They even sprayed some heater grates that were outside the original scope of work, since they would be the same color. We're stoked on how everything turned out. I'll post up some photos of the finished project later so y'all can see. read more
