I texted Tim to see if he does deck staining and he immediately replied that he does. We made arrangements for him to come by and size up the job. After doing so, he emailed me a bid for materials and labor. I let him know that I was happy to have him do the work. Tim is a solo act, so we had to wait our turn. I occasionally texted him just to ensure we were still on his radar. Tim was always responsive and when our job was next he let me know. Tim came exactly when he said he would to power wash the deck. He did a thorough and careful job. Tim returned the next day to do the staining. He did a magnificent job. His technique left our deck looking better than it ever has when we or another painter have done the staining. He also carefully applied the stain, protecting our flagstone walkway and house from splatter. My best advice is to plan ahead and call Tim for your painting and staining needs. You may have to wait to get your job done if he has other jobs already in the pipeline, but he is worth the wait. Tim's price was fair, he is a very pleasant person, and he does excellent work. read more

As mentioned in another review, indeed, Tim is the man! He's not only a consummate professional, but he's also a great human being! :) He does a fantastic job and really cares about his customers -- just what it was like in the good old days ;) If anyone asks me to refer a painter, he'd be the only one I'd refer. We were so glad to find him. Thanks Tim! read more

Worked with Tim about a year and 1/2 ago and forgot to write a review. Only now, when I have some painting work and had to look up his number, did I remember. Reasonably priced, really nice guy, calm and gets the job done above and beyond. I'm a picky designer type, and his work met my standard. He bid for touch up painting on my ex's large house and I think the job got bigger than he expected. Nonetheless, he stuck with his original price, never saying a word about it. Had I been writing the check he would have gotten a bonus. He's definitely at the top of the pack. The only thing he could improve would be to get up to speed on advances in eco-paints- unfortunately, that's the norm for 99% of all painters. But he's happy to use whatever you spec, so it's not a big deal if you've done your own research. Oh, and did I mention that he showed up exactly when he said he would, was on time everyday and kept a tidy, tidy job? Bliss. read more

Tim Woods recently painted a home for us. I can honestly say, that he went above and beyond my expectations. He service was prompt and friendly. The jobsite was left without a single drop of paint, which is more than i can say for most painters. He did a great job of matching the paint, and primed where necessary. You can tell he takes pride in his work. In addition, the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend Tim Woods painting. read more

I have referred Woods Painting to several of my clients. Tim does an excellent job beginning with returning calls quickly. Highly recommend Woods Painting. read more

Tim Woods is a great painter, very friendly and reasonably priced, as well as detail oriented. We recently had our entire house repainted (indoors) and he did a great job. He was also willing to use the no VOC paints we wanted to use, which was a deciding factor for us. Highly recommended! read more

Tim just completed 3 rooms in our house and the complete exterior of our house as well! We cannot recommend Tim highly enough. Tim was on time, dependable and meticulous in his work. Tim is a true craftsman and does impeccable work. Tim left our home spotless every day and did not leave a drop of paint anywhere. Tim is honest, hardworking and a pleasure to deal with! We are already thinking of bringing him back to do the rest of the interiors in our house. He's the BEST!! read more

We have no hesitation whatsoever in assigning the highest possible rating to Tim Woods and his crew, who painted our small two story house. The process, characterized by careful and meticulous attention to detail, resulted in a truly impressive final product. Tim and his crew were courteous, friendly, and considerate. The fact that the work was reasonably priced was an additional advantage to us! read more

We used Tim and his crew again for a complicated bit of painting...installed crown moulding, uninstalled book case, cedar shake tiles and a refinished door....quite apart from "regular" room painting. Once again excellent, careful, thorough and painstaking work. We will use Tim's talents in a kitchen remodel soon read more

Skilled, neat, prompt, professional service from Tim and his crew. Because of a problem with a wrong-sized replacement window, Tim had to come back to finish our job. He was gracious about the extra time it cost him and did not raise his quoted price. His price was fair and reasonable and he exceeded our expectations in the quality of his work. He left the site very clean, even cleaning his brushes off-site when he found out we didn't have a utility sink. We recommend him highly. read more

Tim Woods was recommended to me by my realtor and when I consulted Yelp, I read nothing but high reviews of his work. When Tim later painted the outside of my house, I found the reviews to be true. Tim is highly professional, does excellent work and is easy to communicate with. He strives to give the customer what they want but has a good eye for color and detail when asked. I appreciated that! Tim takes pride in his work and ensures that every step is done right, by himself and his team. Woods Painting is in high demand, for obvious reasons, but I will wait for them on my next painting project if necessary.....they are that good! read more

Where's that 6th star? It would be difficult to rate a professional any higher than Tim Woods. Apart from doing an exceptional job with the complex painting project we threw at him and his team, he was on time, meticulous, respectful of our time and space, and just an all round good guy. Given the horror stories we have heard from friends who have used other local painters, it was a delight to discover Woods Painting. It is refreshing to find someone as outstanding at Tim, both professionally and personally. We will not use or recommend anyone else. read more

Tim came recommended to us by Greenspace - and we trust them so we hired Tim. He did an outstanding job - we could not be more pleased. Tim's price for work was fair - he used the Eco friendly paint at Greenspace - and he started and finished just as he promised. The work was outstanding. We had to bring Tim back on short notice for work on baseboards - and despite how busy he is - he came in on a Saturday and spent the whole day here! He is such a friendly, professional person - and he goes way beyond what you would expect to get the work done right. We're really happy we found Tim! read more

Tim Woods is exceptional, high integrity, hard working and does a great job. I'm on a hill in direct sun and Tim worked through a major heat spell we had. He simply planned the job to paint the areas in direct sun early in the day to hit the shaded areas later. In one area, Tim noticed that a crack that he had covered might show through later. Even though he'd already painted that wall, he returned and reapplied filler over the cracked area and applied two more coats. When I asked about this area, Tim admitted the crack probably wouldn't have resurfaced until well after he left but he knew it would. That is just one example of his integrity and work ethics and there are many. Tim and his crew are very considerate, respectful and a pleasure to work with. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would! read more

Tim Woods just painted the exterior of our funky round house in Corralitos, and we're VERY happy with the result. Tim's prices were very reasonable - his quote was the same amount a larger company who planned to just spray on one coat, but Tim's estimate specified two coats. He used a sprayer to apply the paint, but then carefully used a roller to push the paint into the exterior paneling. The prep work was excellent - the house is 25 yrs old and had never been caulked so thoroughly. We changed our mind about one of the colors after part of the house had been painted, and Tim added only a very reasonable 10% to the bill to paint two more coats in a new color. Tim is easy to work with - he works by himself or with one helper, so you know who you'll be dealing with. House looks great. We'll use him again but it might be many years before the house needs painting again! :-) read more

Tim and his crew just finished staining the front door. The process turned out to be more involved. However, he stuck to his original bid, which is very reasonable. I am very impressed with the outstanding and professional job TIm and his crew had done. He is also easy going and easy to communicate especially when I could not decide on the stain. It was a very peasant experience to work with him and his crew. I am so happy with the front door and how it turned out. I already have plan to have Tim comes back to do the interior. read more

Needed a few rooms painted to get our house on the market in a quick fashion. Tim was able to get in and out quickly, on schedule. Easy to work with, quality work, easy to communicate with. Great professional work, made the experience simple and worry free. Would definitely use Tim again. read more

Tim and his crew were great.."..came when the said they would , did a perfect job, finished when they said the would:). I' m calling them back to paint my house in spring. read more

Tim and his crew just finished painting most of the interior of my house. I had had several contractors come out and give bids, only to disappear or flake on me, and Tim was a great change from that. He was very prompt, always on schedule, always returned calls, and did a great job for a reasonable price. I'd hire him again anytime! read more

Tim, Nakia, and Tom did such a superb job on the exterior of our house that I brought them back to do the interior. They do high quality work at a reasonable price. I'm pretty particular (some might say anal retentive) and they gladly took care of the few minor issues I pointed out without even an eye roll. My neighbor plans to hire them to paint her house after she noticed that Tim and his crew took their time to paint our house, not the like guys that painted her other neighbor's house who were in and out in a couple of days. They're friendly, laid back, and thorough. Shut up and hire them now. read more

Had our house painted by Woods Painting, at the beginning of July. Our three bedroom ranch house in Aptos had not been painted in 20 years so it needed a certain amount of extra prep work and TLC. We also had a small storage shed as an added project as well. Tim was very agreeable to all our added requests and requirements as to little things we added like some unpainted trim and entry way doors. We thought his quote was very fair and it took into account all that we had asked for. We had chosen three different colors for the color scheme of the house, basically one for the stucco, one for some wood skirting and one for the trim that would match the color of new gutters we were also adding to the house. The over all job came out beautifully. Tim and his assistant Nakai worked side by side throughout the whole time they were on the job. About two weeks after they were finished we noticed some extremely faint streaks on the wooden part of the house. They were very hard to see and they were really only visible in direct sunlight and even then you had to look at the house at a certain angle to see them. We called Tim to come back out and take a look because our main concern would have been that over time they would become more visible. After squinting and pointing and looking real hard Tim said he thought he was seeing what we were concerned about. All he said was. "I want you to be happy with the end result. If I give it a third coat, would that satisfy your concerns?" That meant he was going to put a third coat on a substantial portion of the wood skirting around the house. My wife and I thought that was fantastic and really appreciated that Tim would go the extra mile to make us happy. I can recommend Woods Painting without any reservations what so ever, in all regards. read more
