Same basic problem: the folding issue. Everything on the shelves is impeccably folded to a line. I very carefully (because I know how much the employees hate customers who tamper with their folds) eased a T-shirt off a very perfectly folded stack and the stack lost its perfect look. Then I accidentally brushed my elbow on another stack of nearby T's which caused an unfortunate crease on the one on top. The saleslady who hovered next to me during this mishap, perhaps in an effort to make it clear how much time they put into folding clothes at their job, took both piles of shirts off the shelf and made me wait with my items while she perfected the shirts' folds. After my daughter and I waited on her (no that's not a typo), she then announced she was now ready to ring me up at the register. This is and has been a continuous problem at this location. I hope management considers a workshop for the employees on quality and professional customer service. Making a customer wait with their items while you fold clothes is unacceptable and rude. This can and should be done after you've finished sale transactions. If I didn't like the actual James Perse clothing so much I'd truly never go back. Customers spending $400 on three T-shirts should be treated at a much higher standard.

Hubbers and I decided to come back to see what goodies they had to offer. I will admit that they're very pricey for our taste but that didn't matter - they didn't have anything we liked. So why the 5 stars? Because the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They treated us like we just bought the entire store. To be honest, Fendi dragged me inside and liked the blue tie dye hoodie. The shop staff, maybe the owner, was cordial towards me and Fendi. There was a beautiful print long kaftan like dress that caught my attention. Upon inquiring, the shop owner was delighted and wanted me to try it on. This dress was the priciest item in the store, it figures! I'm always drawn to the spendy stuff :( When I don't have Fendi in tow, I'll return to try in on...although I know for a fact loose clothing looks better on a hanger than on me :/ form fitting looks better on my physiqué. The shop mostly has things tourists like. Everything from sweatshirts, hoodies and baseball caps in tie dye and labeled ' MALIBU' It goes without say, most locals will not wear this labeled MALIBU. A shiny big hat inside Encore drew me in, see the pic. It was expensive, and I was told of a celeb who bought one. I looked around at the clothes, and they were more than just sharp, they were fun. And I'm a girl who loves to have fun. Then I spotted those green glasses on the counter. Tried them on, with the green outfit I was wearing. Found out they were on sale for 20% off. Enough. I was sold. But......the strength I needed had to be ordered, so that was done. And a few days later I got the call to pick them up. Obviously, service here is perfection. And friendly to boot. I told Encore's proprietor, Diana, all about Yelp. And now I'm telling Yelpers all about Encore. And not everything at Encore is expensive. My glasses ended up costing 50 bucks, not bad for great quality. And I got a matching green case as part of the deal. I would have paid 30 bucks for reading glasses at Walgreens, and they would have been ugleeeee, and minus the cool case. Momma Yelp will be rockin' those sweet green specs at the Holiday event, look out.

A little disappointed at the misinformation but hey, what can ya do. At the end of the day, I purchased a few clothing items, and a mask. (Funny right? Wanted a hat, bought a mask and a tshirt). Masks are strictly enforced (over the nose) and there is a bit of a wait time. Surrounding area is a park and a very nice shopping plaza. I recommend checking out the Whole Foods afterwards and hit up the Hot Food Bar for some grub. 5 stars goes out to the gentleman and sales associate. They were professional and helpful. Located on the corner of Cross Creek Road and Civic Center Way, the store is a bit hidden off the PCH but still access is still quite easy. Parking in this area can be a challenge no matter which store you're attempting to visit but there are some hidden spots alongside the nursery and the thrift shop. Inside you will find two levels to the store. The top level consists of the normal gag gifts and other fun hi-jinx you're accustomed to find in all Urban Outfitters. What else you'll find on the top floor is their version of Bath and Body Works. There are plants and a bunch of other organic mubo-jumbo that I was surprised to see at Urban Outfitters. Although it was unusual the soaps and other items seem to fit well with an Urban Outfitters in Malibu. The lower level consists of the normal funny tees, loose hanging shirts, flannels, and skinny legged pants and jeans. Urban Outfitters isn't my normal go-to place for clothing but their funny gifts always seem to save me when I've procrastinated in buying a BDay present for one of my friends. At least this location has something new to offer.

There are quite a few fun outdoor features like a ping pong table, an oversized Connect Four board, a playground and sandbox for kids, and lots of outdoor seating. On a nice day it's fun to just come and people watch. There's also a Whole Foods with a really nice hot bar and olive bar if you want a cheaper food option for lunch. Gets pretty busy on the weekend and parking can be a challenge. There have been times that we've had to park across the street before. Worth a visit while in Malibu.
