********** I know the barometer is 5 stars but if we could, we would give Rebecah and Wit's End Parenting 10 stars! She really helped turn things around for our 4 year old who started exhibiting tons of spirited kid challenges (like hitting at home and preschool) along with exasperating fixations on routines and lots of meltdowns. After just a few sessions with Rebecah, our kid started to markedly change, and those behaviors have now almost entirely disappeared. She gave us so many specific ideas and strategies to weave into the day to day and they *really* worked. She is amazing at adapting what she knows to your kid and your family. We cannot recommend her highly enough! We worked with her 100% over Zoom, and it's great how in between sessions if you have anything urgent come up you can text or email to get quick tips for resolving, so you don't need to wait for the next session. She's also a lovely funny person and delightful to meet with.********** read more

We worked with Rebecah in early 2020 and we really appreciated her common-sense approach and firm hand in keeping us grounded and providing much-needed perspective. Her tools and tactics have really been invaluable. She also helped us get clear on how to apply the strategies in the course of our daily lives, which made it possible for us to be consistent! read more

Rebecah was terrific-- very accessible, personable, thoughtful, and clearly draws in a wealth of expertise and experience. She helped us understand and implement practical approaches and tweak them as needed. Saw definite improvement in our child's behavior, our parenting tools, and family communication skills. Scheduling was easy and efficient and connecting virtually made it even easier for us, since we have complicated schedules. Highly recommend. read more

I can't say how glad I am that we chose to work with Rebecah. My husband and I had been struggling with our big energy, stubborn and very strong-willed 11-year-old son for quite some time. We felt anxious and frustrated until we met with Rebecah. She listened attentively and I could tell from the start that she was both passionate about her work and quite an expert. She put my mind at ease that with some understanding of his temperament and some commitment to making the changes, it would be easier to set limits, establish boundaries and follow through with consequences. Rebecah was available by phone when I needed her and above all helped normalize how tough parenting can be while advocating for my child and translating what his behavior was telling us and how to understand him better. Since our time working together, we have way more harmony, I feel more confident as a mom and it has even improved our marriage! Needless to say, we got way more than parenting coaching! She is worth every penny :) read more

We worked with Rebecah Freeling and Wits' End Parenting for help with our twins, especially the more "spirited" one! We loved how Rebecah gave us such insight into our daughter and how she thinks and why she does what she does. Rebecah works by video these days, and this was such a great option for us! I loved the way Rebecah interacted with both kids, how she brought her stuffed animal helpers into our meetings, and how she was able to engage with the kids. Best of all, the parenting tools she taught us are still working! read more

We are so happy we connected with Rebecah and WEP. We just completed a program she designed for my family, and we learned so much! My child was having a tough time with transitions, listening, and changes in the home (new sibling, returning to work from maternity leave, etc.) We used to think our child required a type of parenting we weren't equipped for, but Rebecah helped us realize we had the tools. She truly understands the child/parent dynamic, and her coaching reflects that. We started seeing results after the first couple of meetings. She has really helped our family. We plan to keep in touch with her as our kids grow and new challenges arise. read more

I recently met Rebecah through a business friend and immediately made a connection. I love the name of her business because as a parent and grandparent I relate to being at my wits end especially when my children were young and now helping out with the grandkids! I've been reading her book "Your Rules are Dumb" ..again, love the name, but it's helping me see two things: I was on the right track with my kids even though in the middle of it it didn't seem that way and second she can help parents today navigate the feelings of helplessness and hopelessness when you have a spirited child. Her common sense and wisdom is a breath of fresh air from all the labeling of kids these days with ADHD or ADD. I found hope..maybe you can too..thank you Rebecah! read more

From the start, Rebecah helped us (parents) to calm down and gain some understanding into the world of our spirited 7 year old. Each session we worked on something basic but with big results for our family dynamics and overall happiness. It was a joy to work with Rebecah, we looked forward to our weekly sessions where we learned valuable tools to take with us into our current challenges and useful advice to ground us. Rebecah is so knowledgeable and helpful in a non judgmental and understanding way. I would highly recommend the wits end program! read more

My husband and I met Rebecah when she came to speak at our daughter's preschool. At the time, we didn't think we needed much "help" with our daughter and her behaviors. We mostly just wanted to support her school and maybe learn some techniques as a bonus. About a month after we listened to her speak, our daughters tantrums and behavior got to a point where we needed help. She just seems to understand our daughter. She helped us understand her too. We learned how to help her feel like she was in charge of helping make important family decisions but also in charge of the decisions that effect her. I would recommend Rebecah to everyone. She is a wonderful woman who genuinely cares for us and our daughter. If you're feeling lost and need help with your "spirited," wonderful child, please give her a call! read more

Rebecah is unique in a very good way. She is the sweetest, most non-judgmental, caring, patient, grounded, stable and emotionally healthy person you will ever meet in your life. She also has an incredible inner strength. Additionally she has an extremely healthy inner child that makes her even more effective in helping parents with kids that are difficult to discipline. She uses her connection with nature to also help in the overall healing process. I must add she has a great smile too!! Rebecah helped me with my 3 year old who is now 4. You need to take notes when she is guiding you because what sounds simple and non-important turns out to be life changing if you are willing to do the work she recommends. What she recommends is not at all difficult it is just that sometimes we are stuck in a rut. She will help you out of the ruts. Rebecah can help with children under the age of 5 who are aggressive, overly defiant (like punching adults and running away into the street when they don't get their way). If you have a child who is not overly aggressive or defiant than your problems are cake for her and she will have them solved really fast. I really like Rebecah because she has a lot of knowledge of the various types of parenting schools out there and she picks the best from all of them. I have read tons of parenting books, attended tons of parenting classes and am involved with my child's education & advanced methods and science on child development on a daily basis because we have been in co-op preschools since my child was age 18 months. I feel I am a good critic of her because of my knowledge of parenting and child development. Rebecah understands that not all kids are the same. She knows that the cookie cutter approaches won't work for every kid. She also has very effective tools that are new in the realm of parenting education. Some of these include her knowledge of sensory integration and also natural consequences or regular consequences. Again she will recommend to you and your child those tools that are most effective for your situation. She got us over the biggest hardest hurdles in the beginning and without her I can't tell you the mess we would be in now. She is also awesome in that she will do in home and/or school observations in addition to the parent counseling. I give Rebecah Freeling permission to use my name in addition to any of the above verbage for her future publications. read more

Rebecah was a game changer for us. Our 3 year old was running the family and terrorizing us all. After taking her to be assessed by the public school district, a developmental pediatrician, having her hearing and speech tested, and reading every book we could find on how to handle "spirited children," we felt like nothing was working and we that we needed some professional help. Rebecah was perfect for us because she came to our home, saw our unique situation, and without judgment was able to help us figure out ways to get our strong willed child more manageable. Rebecah has a lot of experience with challenging children and was able to help us figure out ways to deal with all the problems we were having with her behavior. After working through Rebecah's program, life is now much smoother and we are actually able to enjoy our high energy, intense preschooler. read more

Wits' End Parenting really understood the psychology of our kids and gave us some immediate strategies to gain their cooperation. Rebecah also provided us with great insight on how our actions impact our kids and gave us the confidence to stick with our discipline plans. Our kids' meltdowns are now manageable, they listen to us more, and even do chores! read more

Rebecah was able to connect with every member of our family with her warm, funny, practical style. She gave our family new tools that we are still using months after going through her program. read more

My family and I decided to work with Rebecah after feeling unsuccessful with parenting our 8 year old spirited child. Rebecah is very approachable and incredibly knowledgeable about spirited children and what strategies families can use. She gave us real-world scenarios to help our family work better together and provided lots of feedback to our issues. Her insight and observations during our home visit and family visits helped tweak what we were doing at home and how we needed to match the intensity of our spirited child with chores and develop his buy-in to family decisions. We also realized there is no "magic bullet" to parenting spirited kids but with many techniques and strategies, we were able to see progress. I highly recommend working with Rebecah even before you get to your wits' end! read more

Rebecah has been a godsend for our family. She came into our lives when we were feeling totally unequipped to handle some difficult tantrums going on at home. Rebecah teaches parents how to communicate with children in a way they will hear and understand, to hold firm and string boundaries, to provide structure and discipline, all through a lens of thoughtfulness and understanding. Rebecah is a great listener. She targets her tools and feedback to each family and I never felt it was a one size fits all approach. As busy people who don't have the time to read about every method and approach, she had our trust and has shown us by doing and modeling for us with our child. Consistency has been key, and she's reinforced that. Our child is thriving and is doing so well--it doesn't feel unmanageable anymore. It feels so doable! We have the strong tools and resources to support and match our strong and wonderful child! read more

We just worked with Rebecah for the 12 week program. It was wonderful. Rebecah is so experienced and was so helpful. For me I actually asked for a script of what to say when and it was so helpful. My son responded really well to that. Please feel free to reach out to me if you want some additional feedback. I trust Rebecah very much and will keep contacting her for further advice. This is a real professional and a real expert ! read more

Rebecah came into our lives when pandemic parenting had taken a serious toll on our family. We were struggling with nighttime anxiety with our nine-year old daughter and were just not able to be our best selves as parents. We talked with another therapist before we found Rebecah who made us feel judged and even more stressed by the already stressful situation because of all the things she made us feel we should've been doing better. Not Rebecah. Rebecah allowed us to come as our full selves and approached us with NO judgment. Rebecah quickly made it clear that we were all on the same team and what we've been doing as parents is HARD. She shared strategies and helped us reach our own understandings of the needs of our unique situation. More than anything, she helped us reverse our collective mindset and feel like things were not hopeless. Rebecah helped our whole family become data collectors, understanding that we would solve this problem, we just had to keep working at it. It's hard to believe we are where we are now as a family when a few short months ago it all felt so dire. Everyone parent needs a Rebecah in their life. read more

I found Rebecah through a free talk she gave at Cornell Elementary on navigating sibling issues. We were stuck in a pattern of "whack-a-mole" parenting, where we would reach a point of desperation, read a new parenting book, try to implement those techniques and then give up when they didn't work or stopped working. We did a 12-week session with Rebecah and emerged from the program so much more confident in our parenting. I would highly recommend Rebecah to anyone who feels like they need support creating a consistent approach to parenting and also to anyone who has especially strong-willed/spirited children. She didn't psychoanalyze or label our kids. Instead, she gave us very specific instructions on techniques to try. And if those techniques weren't a good fit, she would help us tweak them until they were a good fit for our kids and their specific personalities and needs. We would constantly throw additional questions at her (but what about when we're traveling? or in the car? or at the store?) and she always had an answer that made sense. Her program has a strong emphasis on compliance (e.g., getting kids to get their shoes on the first time you ask) and on getting kids to participate in chores and in making family decisions. When we started with Rebecah, I told her that I was feeling like someone else would be parenting my kids better than me because I had absorbed so many conflicting messages on how to be a good parent. Thanks to Rebecah's program, I no longer feel that way. I think we all know that calmer parents = happier kids. Rebecah helped us crack that code. I'll be forever grateful! read more

Rebecah listens patiently, gives productive, honest feedback, and has a the kind of humor you need when raising spirited kids. We left every session with a clear, concrete goal for the week and tools to use for our "problem areas." Amazingly, we were also able to communicate with Rebecah outside of our sessions (via text while we were on vacation...right after a difficult meal with travel-weary kids). Wits' End Parenting has helped us to change how we interact with our kids, and we learned practices that I hadn't seen in the many parenting books/sites I've read. I highly recommend Rebecah and Wits' End Parenting! read more

I whole-heartedly recommend Rebecah. I originally contacted her for help with my 6yo son, but she ended up immensely helping my whole family (I have 2 younger kids as well). At first, I was hesitant to commit to a 12-week program (and pay for it), but it turned out to be an excellent decision, and totally worth the financial commitment. Some weeks, we had adult-only meetings, and others included my kids. During the sessions with my kids, it was amazing to watch Rebecah with them - she really is a child whisperer! She helped us with many immediate issues, and also gave us some good foundations that our family will use for years to come. read more

I took a workshop at bananas and Rebecah is amazing. She helped me to see the world from my children's eyes, understand their temperament, accept who they are and handle the situations with control. She gave me confidence in my parenting. Every week I came home with new tips to try. It's amazing how she understands the kids and what's on their mind. Her sense of humor is unique and hilarious. I wish this workshop was forever! read more

The classes that Rebecah teach are valuables. Those classes help me to improve my classes.

Rebecah Freeling helps a family create structure and order (from the ground up if necessary) utilizing communication, personal responsibility and accountability all in a friendly, positive and oftentimes fun way. Each plan is tailored to each family helping them create teamwork and respect. I can say with certainty that I have full confidence if you have trouble with order in your household and you're looking for guidance and willing to follow through Rebecah is a fantastic resource you'd be remiss to pass up. If you're on the fence I'd advise looking up her book "Your Rules are Dumb" a cheeky little title with a lot of insight that I wish that MY parents would have had during MY childhood! read more

We are so grateful to have worked with Rebecca over this past year! We read a bunch of positive parenting and similar books before we started with Rebecca and none of them totally clicked for us as they were too general. Working with Rebecca has totally shifted our family dynamics! Our kids (age 6 and 4) have become incredible helpers around the house and (within reason) they actually listen to us when we ask them to do things. And while they still have some rivalry its become much more manageable for us now that we have the great tools that Rebecca has taught us. Rebecca is a unique and compassionate expert: blending her Waldorf understanding, with years of experience working with hundreds of families and kids. She's super practical in her approach: its not about grand theories that are impossible to implement. She's incredibly understanding of even the toughest of moments and children--which gives us space to work honestly and with inspiration. We've already recommended Rebecca to our closest friends and we certainly would recommend her to others as well. read more

Rebecah Freeling is an amazing educator, for both children and adults. My daughter attended Rebecah's childcare center in Ohio for over two years, thriving under Rebecah's influence. When my daughter first began preschool, she had separation anxiety. Rebecah guided us all through it, teaching us how to ease into the transition. My daughter transitioned so well that we often had to pry her away at the end of the day. Whenever we had parenting issues arise, Rebecah would be the first person I would ask for guidance. She expertly guided our daughter through the grief of losing her grandmother, the challenge of our family getting lice (and told us how we could treat it without putting nasty poisons on our bodies), and our difficulties with TV tantrums. She helped advise us as we tested for allergies that we suspected of causing behavior issues, and she guided us to nature-based resources we didn't know existed. Rebecah holds such wisdom into how and why children behave the way they do. On one occasion, Rebecah spontaneously grabbed some felt and scissors and began telling the children a story - a story that directly related to how my daughter was feeling and the anxiety she was experiencing at that moment. At the end of the story, my daughter relaxed and asked Rebecah if she could take the felt characters home and tell her dad the story. As she repeated the story several times to her dad and I, we could see her confidence grow as she began to see herself as the brave giraffe in the story. It was a brilliant spontaneous teaching for not only our daughter, but for us as parents and how we can reframe her fears into stories that teach. Apart from our own experiences, I witnessed Rebecah's expertise through her work with other families, some with very challenging behavior issues. Children who were defiant or aggressive at the beginning of their time at the preschool changed throughout the year; their behavior calmed, they learned how to express themselves cooperatively, and they blossomed. Her knowledge of how to reach all children, regardless of their ability or issues, is a gift that she has honed into a great skill that has helped so many. Rebecah modeled to us a way of raising children compassionately, cooperatively, and with a rain-or-shine relationship to nature. She inspired us (and continues to!), mentored us, and helped ease our concerns of parenting in a materialistic and often frazzled world. We are so grateful that our daughter was able to spend her early formative years with Rebecah and that we as parents have had her as a resource to help us throughout the many challenges of raising a child. read more
