Rebecah's business is aptly named. After reaching out to multiple professionals (psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, therapist), our relationship with our early teen had severely deteriorated - it felt devoid of trust on both sides, and she was frustrated, angry, and depressed. After almost a year of this we were at our wits' end about what to do. With some research we discovered Rebecah along with online resources about deeply feeling kids and the combination of these resources helped turned our relationship around. Rebecah provided concrete, tactical action plans and words we could use to improve our relationship with our daughter and encouraged us when we felt apprehensive. It hasn't been easy, or perfect, but we can honestly say that things are much better now, and we have hope that it will continue to improve. We are only sorry that we did not discover Rebecah much earlier in our parenting journey! read more

After 18 months of COVID restrictions my children had gone feral. They were moody, angry and fighting with us and each other. My 9 year old daughter, with ADHD, refused to cooperate, do chores or listen to anything we said. My 4 year old was quickly following in her sister's footsteps. Both kept having crying, screaming tantrums. We were so frustrated at how terribly they were behaving. I scanned Berkeley Parents Network, Yelp, everywhere. Someone recommended Wits End Parenting, so we contacted Rebecah to give her a try. We thought she would work with our daughters to get them in line. Instead, she very gently put the focus on us. We parents had been the ones to go feral! We were yelling across the house, barking orders, losing our patience and basically being lousy - but we hadn't noticed because we were parenting in a vacuum without community or support. Rebecah refocused us with quick and easy parenting behaviors designed to improve our relationship with the girls and help us be better parents. The pandemic seems to be ongoing, but Rebecah's techniques have made a huge difference in our lives. We're not perfect parents and we don't have perfect kids, but everyone is getting along better and the kids seem more centered. We've asked Rebecah to extend our contract as her coaching has been invaluable during these challenging times. read more

I was at my wit's end. Rebecah was a tremendous help in downloading and processing all my thoughts and strategies re my 15yo son, specifically addressing everything that happens in a typical day. She simplified things and helped create a system for helping get him to function more, and we identified responses to all the "yeah, buts" he would inevitably present. Immediately after implementing the system, I saw positive changes. She calmed me down and helped me accept myself. read more

Wit's end is right! The week I contacted Rebecah, our first grader was getting into some real trouble at school and at home. My wife and I were tired of yelling, spanking (mostly me) and just generally using methods that weren't working. But after the second session with Rebecah we already had a tool in our toolbox that worked right away! And it didn't stop there. The main takeaway, the agreement game, has worked wonders for us. It's no magic bullet, but it's pretty darn close. Our sweet boy is still a handful, but our home is just a little less wacky thanks to Rebecah. I'm sure if our son were to write a review, he would probably say Rebecah is really good at teaching moms and dads a better way to parent. read more

We struggled with our 3-year-old in multiple preschool and social settings. After a year and a half of not really interacting with others his age due to COVID, he had a hard time in group settings and was lashing out. Rebecah in the first 5 minutes connected with our kid better than 8 preschool teachers, 3 gymboree teachers, and 2 gymnastics coaches. She *GETS* spirited kids. And more importantly, she takes the time to understand the individual child as well as the family. Yes, she has many ideas and tips but she customizes recommendations based on the specific child and is able to quickly adapt and follow the kiddo's lead. Not only that, but she is available for text/email support between visits and even was able to use a visit to consult with our kid's teachers and form a game plan for success at school. She gave us a great deal of confidence and support that we desperately needed and she helped us feel like we can do this whole parenting thing. We have seen remarkable changes in our child and are blown away by how well he has taken to many of her recommendations. She even sent him a sweet certificate for being a cool down champ and he has it in his room (he points to it proudly and also takes himself to his cooldown space when he is angry instead of hitting us or otherwise lashing out). We are very grateful to Rebecah's help and wish our kid could have someone like her as a teacher. She is a wonderful support and worth the cost of visits. (Initially we were not able to consider the cost and she very kindly let us know when she was giving free workshops so that we could get support that way as well). Rebecah is a kind, brilliant, and gifted educator and child-whisperer. I am so grateful our pediatrician pushed us to reach out to her! read more

Rebecah is amazing!! My husband and I contacted her when we were literally at our wit's end with our very spirited seven year old. We had tried other forms of "counseling" or therapy with him and nothing seemed to make a difference, or if it did it was very short lived. The pandemic and distance learning only worsened an already exasperating situation. Enter Rebecah and her kind hearted, helpful wisdom and guidance. She offers achievable steps that work for the type of kids society thinks of as "naughty" or "bratty" or even "weird." Our super intelligent son has always struggled with his behavior, and Rebecah's guidance has made us feel so much more in control as parents. We truly couldn't have survived this pandemic without her and are forever grateful for her role in our lives. Worth absolutely every penny....thank you, Rebecah! read more

We are so happy we found Rebecah. My husband and I have a 4 year old who has been very strong-willed from start. I've always felt very guilty as a working mother and assumed it was something I was doing wrong as a parent. I wanted to do anything to help my son when he was feeling frustrated but sometimes felt concerned and even angry with how "big" his feelings and reactions were to the smallest every day tasks. Family and friends tried to be helpful but it felt like no one really understood how intense and frequent our issues were. Rebecah really helped us understand that the defiance and passion in our son's personality was an attribute and it just meant that we needed to parent differently. Instead of feeling like something was wrong and needed fixing I was able to understand the ways in which he needed me to support him. It gave me permission to work with him collaboratively and teach him life/social skills rather than try to control his behavior and constantly hand out punishments. I really appreciated how Rebecah tailored the plan to our son's behavior rather than giving us a pre-set plan. She really considered his unique personality and limitations and adjusted based on his responses from week to week. These changes have really helped him gain confidence, grow emotionally, and improved his overall behavior. I would recommend anyone struggling with a strong-willed child to reach out to Wits' End. read more

Admittedly, we weren't quite at our wit's end when we contacted Rebecah. As such, we weren't entirely sure Rebecah was going to be appropriate for us. Was this the right place to start? Were her qualifications and techniques going to be overkill? Should we just wait this behavior out? Our child had a tendency to yell and become frustrated more than other kids and the "anger book" we read wasn't very useful for our situation. I would say we were frustrated and slightly concerned that our child needed tools that we lacked. We're not frequent yellers ourselves and definitely not as intense as our child, so we weren't sure what to do. Well, right from our initial consultation with Rebecah, we knew she was going to be wonderful. She had an almost uncanny ability to understand our situation and really see who we were. And throughout the course of our meetings, it was like she *knew* us. Knew how our child felt and thought. Knew how we parented. Knew what advice would be just right. And furthermore, she seemed to genuinely delight in our yeller of a child and in helping our whole family improve our behaviors. I guess if you're that exceptional at your job, you might actually like working! But I don't know a lot of people in "caring" professions that aren't experiencing burnout. Rebecah is truly one of a kind. It's hard to think of new things to add to all of the wonderful reviews already written about her. I can relate to and agree with all of them. It bears repeating, though, that Rebecah gives you simple, practical tools that lead to swift improvement. There is no judgment, no labeling, no fault or blame. You might not realize it until you start with her, but this approach in and of itself can be a huge relief. We are grateful to have met Rebecah and to have her as a future resource. In the words of our 6-year old: "Rebecah is a very nice person who helped me not have anger and she taught me how to calm down with murfles (made up word) and how a downtime bag works. She told me how to squeeze. She always teaches her lessons using her stuffies. For example, some of her stuffies might be Cheetah and Bunny and they all make very fun lessons. She taught me when to be grumpy, like on the walk back from school. She taught me how to go to my ocean place to calm me down. I like her very much." read more

My family truly recommends Rebekah and her system of listening and adjusting the family culture. It's not easy to identify issues with empowering analysis of ones family (as we are all so close to the content). Since we started Rebekah's consultative process our family now has tools and approaches to tackle the triggers that would have set our family off in an challenging dynamic. read more

So, it's hard to describe Rebecah Freeling's approach- is she a child-whisperer? Or parent whisperer? Both? And her philosophy? I'm still discovering that, and the reason is that she stays very, very practical. If you have a specific problem with your spirited child, she'll give you a very specific solution to try. And then you have to ask, what's behind that, and why this solution? And this is when you'll get to the foundational principles that underlie her approach, which include: collaboration with the child to co-create a solution; highlighting positive behaviors, and giving as little attention to negative ones; that every conflict is a teaching moment for the child; helping your child save face; creating conditions where there is consistent positive reinforcement and reward for good behavior, that are quickly removed as soon as there's bad behavior. I say "includes" because we're still learning. What is definitely clear from the get go is that she loves this work as much as she loves children. And her definition of spirited child is a broad one. It's not only the child who sets the class on fire at school; it's also the quiet one with really strong feelings. She talks about this in her free class at Bananas. We were about one third a full session with her when we noticed better results. When you have a rational solution in place, it allows you have more control over the situation when it erupts, instead of just losing your top and getting royally frustrated. You need a plan, and she helps you come up with them. Our 2nd child's emerging to be a spirited one too. She's gonna stay on our speed dial for a few more years... read more

Rebecah was a great resource for us in dealing with our toddler during SIP. She was very patient and non-judgmental and gave us the tools for dealing with our daughter and each other during this difficult stage. I would note that Rebecah is more of a therapist and less of a "coach". She listens to you and gives you advice for how to address behaviors but you won't receive a detailed plan to follow. Rebecah does not necessarily push a one size fits all response, but rather listens to you and provides constructive solutions. read more

She is a genuine kid-whisperer. Not only has she cracked the kid-code, she genuinely loves them and helping families - and it shows. If you need something to change in your relationship with your child or you are having difficulties - whether your kid is spirited or not - let this be the sign that Rebekah is the person you are looking for. I met her when I took a class on parenting spirited children. I took the class because I thought I was going crazy, thought I was the worse parent ever, thought that maybe I didn't even deserve to have a kid. I mean, I honestly dreaded picking up my daughter from daycare every day because I knew the crazy meltdowns, screaming fits and general angry, sullen attitude from my kid meant we were going to have a miserable night. I was crying myself to sleep from the frustration and anxiety of feeling so freaking helpless. I had tried so many things and read so many books that didn't help. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to change things or even understand why my daughter was the way she was. Every day was a battlefield instead of relationship. Just getting her dressed in the morning had become an hour long obstacle filled with crying, shouting, pouting and frustration - on BOTH our parts. It was pretty damn awful. First of all, Rebecah gave a great overview of why spirited children are the way they are and helped us all understand where the kid was coming from. That's half the battle right there. She gave concrete, yet kind solutions that gave me the control I needed as a parent but also met my daughters needs for communication, needing to feel in charge of certain things and being a part of the solution process. She completely changed our lives for the better. I was so excited that I sent a video of my kid actually getting dressed by herself without crying or fussing - someone pinch me! Overall, the relationship I have now is much calmer, filled with genuine love, easy moments, friendly banter, wonderful togetherness where both our needs are met. My kid went from constant ugly screaming meltdowns and complete refusal to do anything to being a great kid who loves her responsibilities and feels a part of the decision making process. Everything with my daughter is not perfect, but we are now both so much happier. By a mile. I have confidence in my parenting again. There will always be bumps in the road, this is parenting after all; however, we are in a comparative state of harmony. I've now seen Rebecah privately with my child. Rebecah is calm, centered, non-judgmental, kind, caring, and just completely FULL of solutions and tips and tricks. Just watching her interact with my child had given me so many ideas and tips. Bonus that my kid was instantly drawn to her (and Cheetah!). I wish I was a better writer because I just can't do her justice. The peace and all around better life for both me and my daughter is priceless. read more

We noticed results immediately. We needed help taming our bratty 3 year old. Within a single week our daughter mellowed out significantly. Rebecah equipped us with straightforward common sense things we could implement. Rebecah is a pleasure to work with and we really enjoyed her energy. read more

My husband and I are parents to two lovely kids, one of whom is extremely spirited. Before reaching out to Rebecah, my husband and I had cobbled together parenting approaches from a variety of blogs and books, but didn't feel that any were really helping us help our son in the best way. We were really struggling and needed some more hands-on help. I didn't want to wing it anymore and was sure there must be a better way. I'd read some great reviews of Rebecah and her approach, so decided to reach out. She visited us in our home and within just that first session was able to give us some actionable tools to use with our son. Rebecah's approach is respectful and very straightforward. She connects with kids on their level, while creating and maintaining clear boundaries. Her background and deep experience in childcare gives her a wealth of information to draw upon and it was clear from the get-go that Rebecah has a unique way of viewing kids that truly does respect them as individuals. She spent time working with us without our son to help us talk through various scenarios and then, after looping our son in, helped us work together as a family to understand how best to approach certain situations and create plans together. Rebecah tailored her advice and methods to address our specific issues, so it felt very personalized and actually worked! She's available to answer questions between sessions and is very responsive. Working with her has helped us connect with our son in new ways and, most importantly, aligned our parenting styles with one another. We couldn't be happier or more grateful for Rebecah, her knowledge, and her approach. read more

I cannot express our gratitude enough to Rebeccah for the guidance and knowledge she provided in regards to helping us better parent our 3 year son. We had done our fair share of research and read a number of parenting books, but were still struggling with handling his heavy emotions and extremely strong willed attitude. We felt like we were failing as parents in providing him with the emotional and physical responses he needed. Within one session we knew we had come to the right person and felt a sense of relief. Rebeccah's passion for helping those "tough to handle" children was obvious. She really helped change our perspective on how we viewed our son's behaviors and the reasons behind them. Instead of fighting against behaviors we learned to really embrace many of his traits and in doing so a lot of the not so favorable faded away. She helped us add more "tools to our tool belt" so we feel very well equipped to diffuse emotional situations more quickly. Instead of engaging in continuous power struggles we have given our son more independence and control in decision making which has worked wonders. Changing our perspective and reactions to behaviors has not only changed the way we parent our youngest but has also helped manage our relationship with our older children as well. Parenting if filled with ups and downs and good days and bad, but the feeling of confidence to better navigate through the difficult has been life saver! read more

We met Rebecah through a parenting workshop titled Managing Extreme Emotions. During this talk, we felt like she was living in our house. Rebecah helped us navigate the emotions and behaviors our very complex 17 year old with grace, wisdom and practical tools that get results. We feel more united and confident in our parenting and there's so much more harmony and love in our home. read more

I'm so relieved we found Rebecah and Wits' End Parenting. After the first week we began to see many positive changes in the behaviors we were hoping to address with our child, and by the end of our sessions, we felt like we had the tools and strategies to handle our situation moving forward. Rebecah was always available to us for questions, or emergencies, and her friendly, understanding, non-judgmental, and unwavering support helped us through a challenging time. She demonstrated a true compassion and understanding of both the child's side and the parent's side of every situation, and it was always clear that she was working with our individual family personalities and needs. I highly recommend working with Wits' End Parenting on any parenting challenges you find yourself experiencing! read more

We already miss Rebacah and it's just been a few days since our last session, 8 weeks, once per week. Our beautiful 7-year old son is super energetic, passionate, emotional, and very strong, and my wife and I needed some help to better understand him, better understand ourselves and how we handle him and each other. In the 8 weeks, we learned so much and added tools to our parental toolbox, that we seriously didn't know existed or didn't have access to. That's all because of Rebacah who patiently listened to our son, to us, and gave very practical and logical and directed feedback. And when we applied some of these literally on the fly, we saw results and change right away. It's still a struggle of course, as all parenting is, but I honestly feel like I'm armed with more tools, more knowledge to solve our issues, and make good progress. I also think I came to the realization that as parents, most of the issues our family runs into, can be traced back to how we, as parents, reacted, handled, thought of, dealt with ... a given situation. Had we, as parents, slightly tweaked our approach per the tools we now have, the outcomes would be vastly different. And we see that in practice today with our little guy. Thank again Rebacah. They say that you don't know what type of effect or impact you have on people or families, until someone actually tells or shows up ... and then it's always a joyful surprise. Clearly that's the case here, we are a better family because of your help. I think that's the highest and most thankful thing I can say to you about our experience. read more

We contacted Rebecah after our 5-year old started TK, and seemed to have trouble adjusting to the new routine. He's always been a strong willed child, and our usual parenting style didn't seem to work. He was also developing little ticks that we hadn't seen before, and it worried us that it was something more serious. After only our first session, Rebecah gave us tools that we could put into practice, and we saw positive results almost immediately. During the next few sessions, we learned so much about where he was developmentally, which helped us to be more understanding to his behavior. Rebecah was always available in between our weekly sessions when we needed to touch base about how things were going. She has a wealth of knowledge and compassion that extended to both us as parents, and our son. We highly recommend meeting with Rebecah for not only behavioral issues, but also to strengthen your family bond. Thank you so much, Rebecah! read more

I had toyed with the idea of using Rebecah's services for months after having difficulty with my sweet but strong-willed 2-year-old boy. Finally after a weekend in Tahoe with friends ended with me wondering if we would ever be invited to another friends gathering again, we decided to set up an appointment. My little guy is very physical, not very verbal, and would get frustrated easily when we didn't understand or didn't do what he wanted. Over the course of 5 sessions, Rebecah helped us understand what our son has been trying to convey to us and taught us how we could appease his determined personality without being pushover parents. His tantrums have really minimized (I can't remember the last time he had a tantrum, and he used to have multiple meltdowns a day), he's happier, and I can say without a doubt that we are much better parents to our little man now than we were before we started working with Rebecah. Rebecah is calming, understanding, experienced and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her! read more

Rebecah and her team are very professional, kind, and extremely knowledgable! Rebecah knew my kid and our parenting style without needing to be there with us. Her resources, advice and deep listening have been extremely helpful with parenting our two boys. I highly recommend Wit's End for parenting challenges and we will be going back for more sessions whenever needs arise. read more

Rebecah was terrific, with lots of tried and true techniques and creative approaches to meet our individual needs. I was really struck by how much she appreciates and delights in children as whole people while providing the practical tools we needed to set limits with our very strong-willed four year old. We had tried techniques from parenting books before without much effect, but she was able to give us what we needed for a child who is very committed to getting his way. Our child's behavior has improved considerably and we're able to set limits and get cooperation without anger -- much more of our time with him is spent enjoying each other instead of locked in frustrating battles. Highly recommend! read more

I was literally at wits' end with my 3 year old daughter. Rebecah gave me the keys to understand my spirited child and to gave her what she needed so she could become again that happy and balanced child that she is today. And all this in a loving environment and with lots of flexibility to adapt to our family needs. I am so thankful! 5 years later, we still use some of the family tools that she gave us. I highly recommend you give her a call if you need advice with your spirited child! read more

I wish parenting came with an instruction manual, but it doesn't. Many years ago we were having issues with our son. It wasn't that he was doing anything wrong, per se, it was just that we weren't able to provide him with the necessary tools to thrive. He's a free spirit, has ADHD, and we went down every rabbit hole looking for ways to help him. We became his biggest advocate. However, it made it difficult for him to be in school, learn how to play with other kids, etc. We didn't have enough experience to know how to help him. We tried therapy, advice from our pediatrician, etc. It was helpful, but we were never given tactics that could positively impact him (and us). This is when we met Rebecah with Wit's End Parenting. She was offering a camp for "free-spirited" kids and we just loved the way she marketed her program. We immediately enrolled our son and it was the best decision we ever made as parents. Rebecah is creative, upbeat and always sees the bright side to every situation. She's incredibly knowledgeable about what our son was experiencing, which helped guide us to guide him. I remember really wanting to take him to a fundraising event, however, I was worried how he'd act. I called Rebecah and explained the situation and she gave me a tactic to try that she knew would work well. Sure enough it did! I was so impressed by how well behaved he was that evening. It made me appreciate him on a different level than I had known to parent him. On top of it, I received an unsolicited email after the event telling me how impressed she was with our son! I'm so glad I took him because it ultimately left a lasting impression. That event was five years ago and he just mentioned it in a report he had to write for school! We're incredibly grateful to Rebecah for being there for us -- and without any judgement. She's always willing to help, especially when parents are at their wits end. I highly recommend her to anyone who feels like they need the necessary tools to help their kids thrive. read more

I had taken a class with Rebecah through Bananas when my spirited son was 18 mos old. I remembered her saying that things would get worse, a lot worse, before they got better. Fast forward to 3/16/20 when Alameda Co announced a lockdown (i.e. shelter-in-place) due to COVID. While other parents were saying they would enjoy spending family time together, I was silently screaming NOOOOOO! I'm a single mom with a 6 yr old and 4 yr old, trying to work full time and homeschool. Home life went into a downward spiral quickly. Thankfully, I knew just who to call! First of all, it was nice to have some to talk to when I needed to vent during the extended shelter orders. My family time felt like I was trapped inside a primates exhibit at the zoo. Rebecah has so many techniques, that when something didn't work, she would always have something new to try. She has quite the bag of tricks! Meeting with her virtually every week also held me accountable, and I was more inclined to be consistent and implement the new strategies. I have read so many books, and either the methods didn't work with my kids, or I would get so worn down I would give up. I highly recommend Rebecah! read more

When my daughter turned 2 things got challenging (major tantrums, sleep disturbances, potty training.. all of the normal stuff). My husband and I realized that we didn't see eye to eye on discipline and we had no plan to work through things. None of us were really happy and every day was a series of battles. On Rebekah's website it says, "Don't lose hope. There's nothing wrong with you or your child. You have a special kid. A child who will respond to specific techniques that work for him and help him thrive." This is exactly what she delivers. My husband and I are so thrilled with the insight and guidance Rebekah provided during our sessions. Although we don't have a kid with ultra challenging behavior, we benefited so much from the techniques she teaches to manage the typical stuff. Rebekah always has the long term in mind. She teaches fun, easy to implement parenting techniques that enable parents to be good leaders and that will enable kids to learn how to be good, respectful people. Each visit (we met one a week at her office with our child) we talked about the challenges of the week before and each week we learned new techniques to work on things like: eliminating whining, tantrums, potty training setbacks, respectful communication, independent play, hitting, fear of the doctor's office, and night wakings. Our daughter was always included in the session. Rebekah has such a kind demeanor and interacts so naturally with kids. My daughter looked forward to visiting every week. Each week, like magic, we used her tricks and techniques and watched our daughter transform, growing more confident, calmer, more respectful and so happy and proud of herself. We now have a customized framework and parenting philosophy all our own and feel so much better enabled to handle the years ahead. read more

I have known Rebecah for several years, and I can say, without reservation, that she is the absolute best when it comes to working with children. She provides guidance and structure in a way that kids (as well as parents) can understand. She's able to create a safe space by communicating on my children's level, without judgment. While Rebecah is always considerate and thoughtful in her responses to my children's concerns, fears, frustrations, etc., she is by no means a pushover. She sets out goals and expectations, and if they're not met, she has them explain why, and what they can do moving forward to meet those goals. There's no shaming for failure to accomplish something; only motivation to try new ways to conquer a fear or find a solution to a problem. As a parent, I find Rebecah's approach to be very helpful in handling frustrating and difficult situations. She provides me with new insights and problem-solving suggestions. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for parenting help/guidance/suggestions. read more

We were literally at our wit's end trying to parent a teen with ADHD and oppositional behaviors through the pandemic and online schooling. Thankfully we found Rebecah and gave her program a shot. We couldn't be more pleased with the progress after only a couple of months. Rebecah listens to your issues, dives in on the family circumstances, and provides practical, hands-on and simple advice to tackle the "tricky" and unwanted behaviors. The changes have been real and it's put us in a place where we feel in control and more assured of how to respond (and whether to respond) when behaviors flare. Rebecah is terrific - always responsive to calls for help between sessions and each session ends with a short, practical list of steps to implement for next time. We couldn't recommend her more highly. read more

We had a wonderful experience working with Rebecah! We came to her to find a better way to work with our girls on following directions and creating a better sense of connection, peace and respect in our family and she helped us to get there. It was also very helpful that she is often available by text so when you're having one of those "this isn't working" moments she's there to chime in and keep things on track and give some support. She has such insight into what is going on with kids and what will give them that little nudge to do what they need to while still respecting the child's individuality and view. We would highly recommend her to anyone struggling with their kids. read more

Rebecah was so helpful in guiding me toward a more peaceful relationship with my spirited 7 year old. She helped me to develop morning and nighttime routines (we are still sticking to them!), problem-solved with me on how to reduce screen time (no more iPad at the dinner table!), and worked with me to re-connect with my son through activities that he and I plan together. Since working with Rebecah, there is much more harmony in our house. I highly recommend Rebeccah as a parenting coach! read more

Our family benefitted so much from our sessions with Rebecah. She listened carefully to every challenge we were facing, and provided practical advice to address difficult behaviors. Even more importantly, she helped us understand our child's mindset and involve our child in the creation of rules, so we can collaborate rather than engage in constant power struggles. We didn't anticipate such immediate, positive results--and we also weren't expecting that the sessions would do so much to help us get on the same page as parents. We would absolutely recommend Rebecah to those who feel like they are trying everything and still struggling--and to anyone who wants to take a positive approach to raising their young child. read more

Wits end Parenting was recommended by our preschool. We did the 12 week course to help guide us in supporting our spirited 5 year old. Every session we left with a fantastic tool and advice on how to work through challenges as a family. We loved that it wasn't about labels but understanding the needs of individuals and celebrating that. Highly recommend. read more

We were introduced to Rebecah through a class, Spirited Children, Kaiser recommended to help us better understand and parent our middle child. Although the class was very insightful, we still struggled with how to communicate with our son. We hired Rebecah to help us one-on-one, but ended up learning how our whole family dynamic needed tweaking to achieve the confidence, self reliance and emotional stability both at home and at school we had been trying to help our middle son with. Our children participated in most the sessions where they learned tools to listen to each other, compromise and work as a team. Our original goal had been to become better parents to one kid, but we ended up improving our whole family. I foresee working with Rebecah again in the future as new parenting challenges arise. Highly recommend! read more

My husband and I were literally at our wits' end with our two boys, the older of whom is spirited and aggressive. There was a lot of physical fighting going on. We had tried some other approaches, but we didn't feel like our concerns were properly addressed with those. Now, we have just completed 6 sessions with Rebecah. She heard us out, and it didn't seem like anything we described was new to her. She offered us solutions in a step-by-step fashion that helped us adjust our own understanding and handling of the situation, and ultimately helped ease the physical conflict in our house. In some cases, my husband and I disagreed about what to do, but she found ways to offer solutions that would work for both of us. I wouldn't say the physical conflict has been eliminated entirely, but it is less than it was before, and I feel less stressed about it because I now know how to handle it. We will continue to work on the issues into the future, since all the strategies she taught us are something that we will continue to use in the long term. In addition to helping us work on the physical conflict between our boys, she also helped us with some "bonus" issues too, like chores, games (that were causing conflict), and adjusting our family's spiritual time during shelter-in-place. read more

Rebecah's steady hand navigated us through our most difficult period with our 4-year-old son's meltdowns. She is an understanding, compassionate, thoughtful, non-judgmental teacher who gave us concrete, actionable steps we could take which -- in a matter of weeks -- completely transformed our day to day lives. With Rebecah, you get someone who has literally seen it all! She summoned her vast resources and experiences to create a plan for us that we tweaked and added to during our 6 weekly sessions, and now the meltdowns have all but stopped. In the rare instance that we find ourselves on the precipice of one, we have a wealth of tools to mitigate it. Rebecah is a godsend! read more

Rebecah won me over by, in our intro session, describing exactly how my children undermine my discipline attempts and why ordinary discipline doesn't work on them. She seemed to know them already! She provided alternate method that fit the needs of the high-intensity, emotional, controlling child. She has a great sense of humor and sensitivity to both the parents' exasperation and the humanity of the child; she's understanding, non-judgmental. It was a comfort to speak to her each week and it helped me and my husband keep our focus. She has an organized plan and is focused on working that plan to achieve our stated goals, including evaluating and assessing what's been working and what hasn't. The downside is that 8 weeks goes by so fast. It's a very good start, but a start only. It's expensive, but if you have the money, this is an unbeatable investment in your family's happiness, and you'll want to continue. read more

We just completed a 12 week session with Rebecah, and highly recommend her and Wits End Parenting. Over the past few months, Rebecah has gotten to know our family dynamic, and created customized tools and strategies to help us work better as a team. It's all a learning process of course, and we're still working on consistently implementing all of her recommendations - but over the last few months we've seen a tremendous improvement in our daughter's behavior, and our own mindset as parents. If you are struggling with parenting a spirited child, I highly recommend working with Rebecah. read more

We found Rebekah through a Summit counselor. We were referred to her to help with some behaviors we were having a hard time working through with our 5 yo daughter. Another issue that she helped us with was the fact that my husband and I were not in sync with our approach. So, we are now closer to the same page and the methods we were taught have helped us to work better with our daughter to meet her needs without as much drama. We did a six week program and are now meeting monthly, cause things change and I know we will we'd continued support read more
