This small and mighty foodtruck type coffee stop that has great coffee, company, and more! They serve cultivar coffee and have organic syrups and milks. You can find unique menu items such as the Michigander which has Michigan sourced maple syrup from Amie's hometown. How cool is that? If you're not feeling maple syrup, the seasonal drinks are spectacular and even the plant-based energy drinks are great! I tried the Tiger's Blood Energy Drink and it tasted like a Red Bull, but not as fizzy or heavy on my stomach. It got the job done in keeping me up. Be sure to bring your own mug for a 15 cent discount! For treats, the Metzler's Fischer's Kolache is the way to go! I personally like the Jalapeño Cheese. Not only is the coffee great, but the staff are incredible. After one visit, the staff remembered my name and milk preference. If there's not a line and you're not in a rush, talk with them. Amie, Kenzie, and Sarah are phenomenal. This business truly is a great example of how to connect and giveback to the community. Not only can you find them at the Chestnut Tree on the square for other involvement, they are most involved with raising money for a local middle school food pantry.

At that point I gave up and left without ever getting my order. It was a holiday weekend, so being busy wasn't surprising but the shop clearly was not staffed appropriately to handle the crowd. They only had ONE person working the espresso machine, which created a massive bottleneck while the line kept growing longer and longer. I understand rushes happen, but customers shouldn't be stuck waiting nearly an hour for coffee with no realistic end in sight. Management seriously needs to plan staffing better during peak times. The neutral tones paired with the greenery make you feel like you've stepped into a peaceful little oasis inspired by nature. Here's a version that flows with the rest of your review while keeping your style: Coffee was served in a real glass, which is always a nice touch, and had the perfect balance of flavor, creaminess, and coffee. After chatting with the friendly barista while ordering, I decided on the Raspberry Danish latte, and it did not disappoint. It was sweet without being overpowering, and the raspberry and pastry flavors came through so well. Already adding this to my "visit again" list of Texas favorites. We have had exceptional White Mochas, and Cappuccinos at Higher grounds, until recently. Something about the flavor of our drink was off, and reminded me of the flavor of (great value brand half and half), which is disgustingly gross, and cannot stand that stuff, as it makes me want to toss my cookies. The next time I ordered, I paid attention to the process, and sure enough, and to my unbelief, out came (great value brand half and half). I informed the barista, that I am not able to drink that, and I had to switch to something else, because I can't stomach that nasty half an half. I hope they discontinue this practice or I'll have to find another coffee place. To continue producing a quality product, you must use quality ingredients. To cut corners and use substandard ingredients, may save the owner a few bucks, but will cost them more in the long run, by losing customers.
