First Friday Night? This event should take place every Friday Night! I am not even a Vegan, not…read morethat there is anything wrong with that, but I just like to eat good food, which is certainly something you can find here when you visit. I visited several vendors for eat and to chat and learn about their trade. I certainly learned some and ate some good food like vegan adobada and a terrific vegan croissant. All the vendors were very nice happy to provide Vegan treats. Being held at a parking lot at Grossmont Mall, parking is plentiful and access is easy.

Whelp, I have a solution for that...plan your OWN Vegan Festival and it can be wherever you want it to be! Until then, this is the best thing to happen to the San Diego Vegan scene since...ever! and (2) the lines are too looooong. I get there when it opens and there are zero lines. So, there you have it: problems solved. Either drive to where it is or plan your own and if you don't, get there when it starts. I am gracious and thankful that people are VOLUNTEERING their time to put on this awesome vegan festival and coordinating with the mall and vendors. It's held the first Friday of each month. Follow @veganinsandiego for all the details. See you there!

Three guys and a gal set up shop with two EZ-Ups and a couple of flat tops for cooking. There were four sandwich offerings on the menu board. All served on a quality Amoroso roll. I chose the Classic. It was a very good sandwich. The roll was excellent. The meat was tender, seasoned and grilled nicely. It was a little light on the onions and cheese, that'd be my only small complaint. Would I recommend? Absolutely.

Heck yeah! Why not? Since we didn't want to eat too much and wanted to try other things, we opted to share one Philly Cheesesteak. In it's simplified form, steak and cheese. It was so yummy! My husband even declared it the best he's had in San Diego. The guy asked if we were sharing and even split it on trays for us which was thoughtful and nice. The pickled veggies on the side was a nice touch and different. In fact, after we grabbed all our produce from the farmers market, we almost went back to purchase ANOTHER philly cheesesteak. Haha. But we had some other plans after so we didn't. Will definitely come back!

It sounded good but we also weren't really feeling like going "out" and something that could be delivered or that we could pick up seemed like the better play. All the typical poke places showed up when we searched but none of them really sold us. Well, good thing I remembered that Valley Farm's poke game is strong... really strong. Believe me, I know that those of you who don't know Valley Farm will likely say "really?" when I detail that this sleepy little Spring Valley market kicks out poke as good as anywhere else in SD, but it's true. It's a sleeper of a choice but the quality and price will make you a fan, trust me.

Valley Farms Market is one of San Diego's hidden gems. From the moment you walk in, you can feel…read morethe difference. The store is clean, beautifully organized, and filled with high-quality products you don't always find at larger chain grocery stores. What I love most is their fresh selection, especially the produce, specialty items, and unique gourmet finds. Everything looks vibrant and carefully displayed. You can tell they take pride in what they offer. They also have a full butcher shop with everything you could desire. The selection is impressive, and it's wonderful knowing you can get high-quality cuts prepared fresh right there in the store. It adds such a personalized, old-fashioned market feel that you just don't see everywhere anymore. Another favorite of mine is their fresh-pressed cold juice blends, which I absolutely love. They taste incredibly fresh, and you can truly tell the difference in quality. It's such a treat to grab one while shopping. The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and welcoming. It truly feels like a neighborhood market where customer service still matters. Whether I am picking up everyday essentials or something special for a gathering, I know I will find something wonderful here. If you appreciate quality, variety, and a pleasant shopping experience, Valley Farms Market is definitely worth a visit. I always leave happy!
