Basically the Del taco soft taco absolutely garbage for a food truck would only recommend if you are starving.

The Classic with extra toppings!

I am a fan of nachos in general, and I am huge fan of the nacho combinations Gnarly Nacho's offer, including the ability to modify any of their signature offerings or being able to create your own. I choose the regular size classic with regular tortilla chips and added a few items such as bacon, cilantro, onions, grated Mexican cheese, and guacamole, in addition to the classic nacho sauce and sprinkling of Colby shredded cheese for $8. You can get a very large size for sharing for $12. As you can see, the nachos not only looked terrific but they also tasted fantastic. The combination of the tasty cheese sauce and the shredded cheese was a great idea. The bacon pieces were not your typical bacon bits, no these were actually cooked chopped bacon portions that tasted great. The guacamole was creamy and well seasoned, the cilantro and onions freshly chopped, and the grated Mexican cheese added a nice saltiness to the nachos. I did feel they went a little overboard on the sour cream. In hindsight, I would of like to have seen more shredded cheese than sour cream. Yes, they use ingredients that you can find at a typical grocery store, but it's all about the experience and having someone serving you up a tasty plate of nachos while you enjoy a cold beer at a local brewery.

HORRIBLE!!! Had them at La Mesa Oktoberfest, 15-20 Mins STILL WAITING!!! HAD A STAFF OF OF ABOUT 7 yet the crew cared more about talking to drunk/stoned friends instead of pushing orders thru When the California burrito nachos came they were HORRIBLE literally had a spoonful of meat no salsa with globs of store bought chips, guac, and sour cream with plain tater tots My pregnant wife was craving nachos and we wanted to help a local buisness, instead we were Given horrible food with even worse service...we were so turned off by the nachos we threw them away with still more then half nachos left, we should have had the nachos around the corner they smelled and looked A LOT better then these guys If you are the owner of this company, I would suggest you have a company meeting and let your staff know they need to take this more seriously, serve better quality food, and appreciate the income while it's good because I don't see this buisness lasting for much longer #worstnachosever

Service was friendly and the wait was not beyond what we were told. The food is good, some of their items are pretty unique. My only complaint is that they didn't have prices anywhere, for a small nacho and a large nacho it came to $25...a little pricey for me but it was nice to walk right outside my house to get dinner.

Slowest food truck ever. Only one person making food and taking orders. Tacos tiny and dry, no sauce!!! Do not recommend.

I actually walked into Tacos El Villasana without realizing this was the place I had bookmarked to visit when I hit San Diego. It just seemed like a cool bar to check out. But I digress. The margaritas at the bar were hitting. I was already very happy when I made my way to the patio out back and picked up a menu only to realize where I was. Had to get the ribeye tacos and man were they good. So were the shrimp tacos. Lots of seating available and you get to watch the man throw down in the kitchen. Just a fitting food spot for a wonderful area.

THE SPACE: You walk into an open and spacious tap house with seating and large windows facing the street. There's also a small stage, so I'm assuming they have live music at times. Walk past the bar and through a corridor and you are welcomed by an open, airy outdoor space and the smell of the grill. Outside, there are tables surrounded by some greenery. It's counter service, so you place your order and they bring the food to the table. THE FOOD: We ordered the ribeye, shrimp and cabeza tacos. Oh my goodness, those ribeyes were worth every bite. They were topped with chimichurri and they were incredibly flavorful, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. I am seriously still thinking about them! The shrimp taco was equally as good. The shrimp were cooked to perfection, not too chewy, and topped with a generous amount of guacamole. The cabeza tacos were also on point, packed with flavor and perfectly tender. All tacos were generously portioned. THE DRINKS: The Jamaica water is made with passionfruit and was honestly refreshing. The mango pineapple agua was my fave. Not too sweet , just right. We also tried their House Blonde beer and it paired well with my tacos. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

Both times, I was impressed watching them hand‑press fresh tortillas on the spot and grill the meat in real time. No cold tortillas, no dried‑out meat sitting around waiting to be served. Just fresh, delicious tacos. I would absolutely recommend them for catering. The National City location is clean, efficient, and easy to visit. You order at the counter, grab your tacos a few minutes later, then head over to the salsa bar to load up on all the fixings. Parking is easy, the bathrooms are clean, and the staff is always friendly. The tortillas are what really set this place apart -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect texture. The meat is excellent too. My go‑to order is a couple of carne asada tacos, which make for the perfect lunch. They also offer complimentary puffed chips for dine‑in guests, which is a nice touch. They run Taco Tuesday specials (sadly not on the carne asada, my favorite), and they have a few other locations I haven't visited yet. But for me, the National City spot is the one. Fresh tortillas, great meat, fast service, and consistently good food. What's not to love?

The char and flavor on the asada was perfect. The al pastor had great flavor and both were very tender. The asada tacos were delicious. I wasn't a fan of the quesadilla with birria. The birria flavor wasn't quite there and it just made the tortilla all soggy. I would love this place more if they had some fire hot sauce but unfortunately none of the sauce were spicy at all. The pickle carrots were still pretty hard. Their drinks were delicious. Cucumbers lime and horchata was my favorite. And they give you 1 free refills. Cashier was super friendly and food came out really fresh and fast. Lively atmosphere with mexican music and sports playing on the TV. Easy to find with plenty of parking and lots of setting inside.

And that's what these tamales taste like to me. The masa is more flavorful than a typical tamale in my experience, and all the ingredients are fresh, just wonderful food. You will usually want to get there early to have a good choice of what you get and they don't always come out right away, so you might find yourself waiting. That's o.k. Patience is a virtue in this life and you might find yourself getting some of the best home made style tamales if you have some. :-) Also, this is a food stand, I don't believe they have any place to eat here so ambiance isn't a thing, the parking can be a little tough but not usually a big deal.
