After this unexpected remodel and damage was exposed we had a delay of several months to get on their schedule. When the project date arrived, they showed up on time, cleaned well after the demolition/addition of interior floors to allow drainage and a sump-pump. My original review (4 star due to not adjusting the cost when less product was used) they owned the mistake and recognized their communication gaps. I do appreciate that attention and feel more confident in the company. I look forward to many years of DRY basement/master bedroom living.

So, this summer, we decided to move forward with the plan to be "soakin' for the holidays" three months away. The only thing standing in the way of that dream: the slab and its neighbor had sunk a few extra degrees, roughly three inches, at the far edge. We were going to need to shore up and permanently stabilize this slab if our hopes of the (3-ton when filled) tub were going to materialize. I made a quick call to Terra Firma and they had an estimator out within a few days. The pricing was reasonable and had the standard 50% up front 50% when complete-type contract. Casey arrived spot-on at 8:00am yesterday morning and began doing his magic (the process involves boring 1/2" holes through the slab, then using high pressure and heat to inject a molten expanding foam under the slab.) The foam is rated to support about 5 tons (10,000 pounds) per pound of foam material, and....100 pounds later that whole slab is back to following the prescribed slope perfectly, raising almost three inches on the sunken side. He did a great job and was a great rep for the company, explaining what little was left to explain. He kept me up on the status of the (4-hour) job as he went along--because our slabs had previously cracked, he had to gently lift it up in small sections so as to not have the sections separate further. Perfect job. 24 hours later and the patched holes have dried to almost-invisible (see photos). Unless you know what you're looking for, you can't even really see that repairs were made. Now I just need to fill in the pre-existing cracks with concrete patching caulk and we're ready to schedule the hot tub delivery! Yippee! Thanks Terra Firma!

He is upfront about budget and costs and keeps you updated every step of the way so there are no unpleasant surprises. What puts Harley's company in a league of its own, is his team. These are not subcontractors with tons of other jobs all happening simultaneously. He hand picked these workers, who are masters in their fields. What this means is, that team showed up early every morning. They worked hard and wasted no time. They are experts at what they do and they take pride in the job they perform. Harley treats your job like he is working on his own house. This comes across very clearly in every decision and choice he makes to select materials, plants, products, etc. He also consulted me before every design decision was made, from the the height of the step leading to the backyard, to the exact color of the cement, to the exact placement of the plants before the digging took place. Another designer may have gone ahead and planted the plants per the architectural design, but Harley has this innate understanding that people change their minds when they see things actually laid out, or after they have time to think about the project as it it progressing. It is this insightful understanding about human nature, that greatly reduces stress during the project as you come to trust and appreciate these rare qualities that you don't find in most people. I am so pleased with the work Design Prodigy did in the backyard.

DO NOT HIRE THESE DISGUSTING THIEVES!This has been an absolute nightmare. They are unprofessional,…read moreincompetent scammers who destroyed my property, took my money, and vanished. I am currently filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the State Contractors Board, and exploring legal action for breach of contract and property damage. Here is exactly how they ruined my home and breached their contract: Property Destruction: They completely wrecked my lawn, trenching the yard with heavy trucks. They severed my utility cable line, littered my property with cigarette butts and trash, and shattered my rockery. Negligent Concrete Work: They spilled and splashed wet concrete all over my house, driveway, and adjacent structures. They chipped existing concrete and left it. The new patio already has pooling water. I strongly suspect they committed construction negligence by leaving the rebar untied and laying directly on the dirt. Incomplete Scope of Work: I contracted them to cut and remove six trees. They only cut three, trimmed three, and left a massive pile of debris. Abandonment of Site: They left the wood forms and framing in a pile, packed up, and walked off without a word. Abandoning a job site is a direct violation of contractor regulations. Financial Shakedown: They demanded over 50% upfront for "materials." On pour day, the lead guy frantically called me at work, claiming he couldn't pay the cement vendor. He forced me to pay the vendor directly, effectively stripping away my remaining financial leverage. It has been a month. The lead guy--who was aggressively calling me to get the contract--now completely ignores my phone calls and refuses to finish the work. Yes, their bid was cheaper than the competition, but I am now paying thousands more to fix their destruction. Consider this a final warning to anyone considering them: Avoid this company at all costs. See you in court.
