I had a system installed by a local provider many years ago. I liked them because the owner and…read moreinstaller held my hand and let me just purchase the equipment. Most companies as that time wanted me to lease or do some kind of payment plan which I wasn't interested in. Other providers wanted a 3 year contract and original, installing company did not. Eventually, the company that did my instilwas sold to a group out of San Antonio and then that company was bought by Alert 360. They are based out of Tulsa and their service couldn't be worse. It's as if ADT and Comcast got together and had a baby and the baby got only the bad traits. The first thing they did was jack up my rate without offering any additional services and as a special "feature" they tacked on a monthly "insurance" cost to my bill without asking me. I called up to their headquarters and asked the clerk to justify their existence. I asked why I would continue to pay them when now days, systems are automated, cheap and efficient. The woman answered that "they answer the phone faster than any other alarm company." Which just shows she totally missed the point of the question. These people are crooks, and this business model is going the way of the dinosaurs. Update: no see, I'm not trying to get anything from you. Nor am I intent on helping you learn, grow, or be better at business. I've had my experience and now it's out there for people to see. Your chance, you had it, it's over. Good to know that you didn't even try to refute a single comment I made though. Should be evident to anyone that can read what a horrible company you are Update 2: Alert 360 somehow believes I care to have a "resolution" and doesn't understand what the purpose of Yelp is. This is a place for people to offer reviews and share experiences for the general public to see and be informed. It is recommended that Alert 360 get better at social media and business in general. Alert 360 should be advised that people do not succumb to demands for "direct contact" nor are reviews posted to help a company learn Update 3: positive reviews seem to be for "Central Security Group." Karen of Alert 360 appears to be excited to claim ownership of past positive reviews. Maybe Alert 360 bought that company as well. It shouldn't mean that Alert 360 is entitled to past performance.

I had Central Security Group installed cameras. One of the technicians tripped and fell in the…read moreattic. I had water problems in my bedroom and bathroom. The men went to a hardware store to buy stuff to fix the problem. Not a good idea, but they thought they were doing the right thing. Later that evening, it started dripping again in my bedroom. Mr. Adrian Reyes wasted no time in taking care of the problem by staying on top of everything by calling a plumbing company Roto Rooter to fix the problem. Mr. Reyes called and texted periodically to make sure everything was going smoothly, which put me at ease. Through it all, my only problem was having to deal with a customer service agent in Oklahoma (I reside in Texas), who kept talking over me, trying to make me UNDERSTAND that I have a leak in the roof. Poor customer service on her part, but that will not deter me from giving Mr. Reyes 5 stars. I recommended CSG to two of my friends. The one that had the system installed is extremely satisfied. The other will have hers installed in August. I am sure she will be satisfied as well. Now, I have a different perspective on "one bad apple spoil the whole bunch". Not true in this case. Just one person acted inappropriately, but Mr. Reyes was quite professional, and maintained his professionalism through it all. I would definitely recommend this company. Mr. Reyes certainly deserve 5 star rating. It's too bad I can't give him ten stars. Mr. Reyes is a great asset to Central Security Group. Happy the technician is alright. Things could have been so much worse on either side. Kudos to Mr. Reyes. Keep up the good work.

We own the equipment at this point as we have already fulfilled our first 3 year contract. We are only paying for the monitoring now. We tried to have our renter take over the payments and put it in her named, or open her own contract. They don't offer contracts with renters, they said, but would look into it and let me know by the end of the day. Our renter was moving in and we needed to let her know. Four days later, after the renter moved in and opened a contract with a company who would work with renters, they said they would talk with her. Too late. Now that I've tried two methods to retain our contract and have been denied, I need to cancel altogether. Can't get anyone to answer my question over the phone and haven't heard back from the rep, Bryan, since Thursday. So frustrating as they want me to pay over $300 break contract. AVOID THESE PEOPLE!!

I contacted them on a Tuesday via their website, requesting a free quote/more information. The representative called me a little while later, very friendly, discussing my home and my needs/concerns. He told me what he recommended and the cost, including things like - you know, typical sales (what I'm getting free and how long that deal lasts, yada yada). Anyway, it is a great deal compared to other companies I spoke with and they are not beating around the bush here as far as what I am getting and what I am paying. I needed that. One big name company, probably the most well known, insisted that I have a representative come out to assess my needs before we discussed money and that I then have someone else come out to install. Another company, recommended by a family member, wasn't playing that game, but still confused me on what I was getting and what the rates were. *There is a cancellation fee of $99 if you do not cancel your appointment (at least for a weekend) 48 hours in advance. I didn't like this because I felt overwhelmed and almost rushed. I also was informed of this right before the call ended and we had scheduled my appointment for only a few days away. My tech's arrival window was between 11 and 12 on Saturday. Juan called at 11 AM to let me know he would be there shortly. He arrived soon after and got to work. We discussed my concerns and how to maximize what I was getting in my package and suggested which add-on would best suit my needs without coming out of pocket more than necessary. (I was getting one free add-on with my package.) We discussed where we could potentially place the keypad and what would be the most convenient of these locations. After everything was mapped out, he got to work. He installed everything in the most possible aesthetically pleasing way and was quick. He showed me how to use my new system, helped me download and navigate the phone app, etc. When he left, he provided me with a manual in case I forgot anything he showed me. He made sure that all my questions were answered and my mind was at ease with my insecurities with my security system. About the system: This system has so many more features than ones I've used in the past and it is so convenient to use these features! Multiple access codes for babysitters/family/dog walkers, along with ability to control when their codes work AND see who and when someone activated/deactivated the system on your phone??? AHHHMAZING! I love the color touch screen. Also, just today, my husband accidentally set off the alarm and I learned more. In the email I was sent to let me know of the alarm being set off, I learned that in the scenario that someone sets off your alarm and tries to destroy the keypad (something I never thought of 'til another alarm company mentioned it), the keypad will send the alert to the monitoring center, due to lack of response, and police will still be called. One more loophole taken away from criminals. WHEW! Last notes: This company CARES about your opinion! I do a lot of comparison shopping when it comes to spending big money, especially when they involve my security and come with a long contract. During my search of consumer reviews, I noticed that they almost always respond directly to the reviewer, especially in the event of dissatisfaction, trying still to resolve the issue. I cannot say that I have ever seen that before. This really helped assure me that I was making the right choice. Also, Monitronics (the monitoring company) called me a couple of days later to make sure I was satisfied with my tech and service. I called Point back to obtain a certificate for my homeowners insurance and had it in my email within 24 hours - no hassle. Pros: 9 complaints with the BBB (all resolved) vs THOUSANDS of negative reviews with next leading companies, mostly unresolved, or vs some local companies not being found on BBB website. Installed ASAP and without multiple visits, friendly staff, professional install - no need to worry that you don't have what you need or that what you've done yourself is overkill. Read my narrative above for more pros! Cons: 3 year contract. (This could be worked around by buying the equipment, I believe.), $99 fee in the event of last minute cancellation.
