He and the crew gave me a full price estimate and timeline on the project, asking for half the money as a deposit, also to be used for supplies with the other half due at completion. It took me a few weeks to obtain the building permit required for my porch. He kept in contact with me through that process to ensure we were on the same page and he could start as soon as I got everything in order. Brandon and the guys arranged to start on a day that worked for me, starting at around 9am to sunset everyday until both projects were done. They were profession and courteous through the whole job, only leaving behind sawdust in the grass. Great group of guys. I later had them come back to replace an 8x12 section of subfloor, main door to the house and floor tiles for the kitchen/entry way. Same experience as the first job. I have them scheduled again for this spring to renovate two bathrooms and replace some windows. Apex Construction is one of the best representations of a Maine local business I've seen in a long time. You'll end up keeping their phone number in your contacts for your next construction project, for sure. It is so great to talk with Dody whenever I call as she gets all set-up and knows the business inside and out! This year the Annual Heating System Tune-up was completed by Dan R and Anoy G. They had a great partnership in sharing the necessary tasks and getting the system serviced. It is so great to have Augusta Natural Gas experts keep the system serviced and our home safe! Thank-You All!

I called Augusta Natural Gas to get a quote to replace our water heater. A technician came out,…read morestood at the door for less than two minutes, confirmed that the water heater needed to be replaced, and left. He took a few pictures and that was it. He told me he would email me a quote. After waiting, I followed up with Augusta Natural Gas twice over the next two weeks because I still had not received anything. With no response, I ultimately went with another company. That company took the time to explain our options, provided a quote, and completed the replacement that same week. Three weeks later, Augusta Natural Gas finally sent me their quote -- which was approximately double what the other company charged. Then, a few weeks after that, I received a $140 bill for "labor" for the technician's less-than-two-minute visit. I called to explain the situation and try to resolve the charge. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was even more disappointing. I was yelled at, accused of lying, and told not to call again. I remained calm and respectful throughout the conversation and ultimately had to hang up. I understand that companies charge for service calls, but charging $140 for a visit that lasted less than two minutes, failing to provide the promised quote for three weeks, and then treating a customer this way when they call with a legitimate concern is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Augusta Natural Gas and will be taking my business elsewhere.

He left to go buy a tile cutter and a bucket of thin set. Stated full day price was $1260. They left after 5 hrs and he asked for $1360 stating it was for the supplies! I paid it stupidly. A few days later Mike and the boy returned to finish tiling and grout. I guess he went from tool retriever to tiler/grouter. The grouting was a mess, my brand new quartz had 1/2" grout along the edge, lumps everywhere, thick lines overlapping the tile. Not up to cabinets. Did not finish and said they would be back, and they needed $630 for 1/2 day. I gave them $530 and told them to let Jason know I over paid $100 last time, as I shouldn't pay for his tile cutter that he should have brought to the job. They never returned to finish. I had another tiler come and tell me he's never seen such a terrible job and so overpriced! Beware!
