At first, this seemed like a good business. I needed to replace some old bathroom sink pipes because they were starting to show their age and become loose. I scheduled an appointment, but the company reached out to reschedule because they were busy, which I understood and agreed to move it to the following day. The second appointment was scheduled for 9:30 AM. I waited for two hours expecting someone to arrive, but no one showed up. I eventually had to call and text for an update, only to be told they were unable to come out again. I understand that things happen, but having to reschedule twice and not receiving communication until I reached out myself was disappointing. I highly recommend anyone who uses this company to require proof of the licenses/certifications the company says it holds before work is started. We started to install a basement bathroom and had removed a large portion of the concrete floor to get at piping. We also completed basic framing. Then we changed our mind and decided to remove that work and restore the area to its original condition. To do the restoration work we reviewed multiple-capable contractors in the area using Yelp. We chose Ridans Home Maintenance based on those capabilities and friendly communications. The work was done as mutually scheduled employing quality methods, materials, and crew. After, Dan and his men cleaned the area, removing discarded material as requested. The work and price was acceptable and referrals by us would be provided gladly. read more

Words to the wise. Do not do what I did and pay the whole fee for the service until it is completed. I paid up front for the service and it was never completed. If I could go back in time I would have paid half when the work began and the other half when completed. I feel like one star is not low enough for this low life. Dan Woods is a huge con man. He did not give me a contract and kept asking for more money without much with results. I was very stupid and thought he would come through and complete the job right. Was I ever wrong. Saying his work is poor is an understatement. Nothing he did was done right or to code. My first contact with Dan was regarding a leak in my furnace room. Turns out it had nothing to do with the furnace, which Dan quickly diagnosed and repaired at a reasonable price. He also said he could take care of the mess in the downstairs that ServPro left behind (that's a story for the review I'm leaving for them). At first, it was not easy getting a hold of him (he's got a LOT on his plate!) but once things got rolling, he was very easy to work with, very thorough, took the time needed to do the job right, and went above and beyond. And at a very reasonable price, to boot. I would highly recommend Ridan's and would hire them again! read more

On 2/23/23 we paid him $500 (which included a tip) to remove an in-line filter that broke, had no bypass feature, so we had no water. He talked us into a "custom filter system" that he guaranteed would take care of all our well water issues. On 2/24/23 we paid him $700 to get parts - valves, filters etc. He did install a sediment filter and a fiber filter, but was waiting on the "correct parts" to arrive for the complete system. For months we got nothing but excuses when he did bother to respond. On 4/1/23 he finally showed up, with a long list of excuses and fooled us again - he changed the filter so we would have water as the partial system had clogged reducing our water flow to next to nothing. He is such a convincing con, we gave him another $700 to complete the system. Other than a couple excuses, we have nothing to show for it. I missed several days of work, when he was scheduled to install the system and never showed. He did agree to refund the $700, because he was out of work related to a broken foot, compounded by dropping a water heater on same foot, then double hernia surgery, etc etc. Now, we have to bypass the filter to have water flow. We thought we had found someone who took pride in doing a good job, right the first time - but we were suckers. Don't fall for it! read more
