We drove up to listen to "The Jovial Crew" Saturday. This group performs Shanty, folklore rich songs of the sea, pub and more. Amazing vocals from the guys and a chance to join in to sing along. This was a BYOB event, a traditional Grog mix was provided by the Inn Keepers (non alcoholic) to which you could add the "Spirit"that you brought with you. House made Desserts were included with admission. They even had some themed treats, Hardtack and Joe Froggers. If you were staying at the Follansbee Inn, admission for the concert was included. For locals, tickets were available at the door. But, stay at the Inn for an overnight, their Breakfasts are included and amazingly delicious.

We thought we could just wing it, but the reality is, we had no idea what we were in for! To say I'm thankful that our venue had a coordinator deal going with Sherri is a huge understatement. Within a few short months of planning and a few video chats, I knew we needed more of her help than just a day-of-coordinator. Sherri and her team took care of all the setup and breakdown for our Halloween wedding. She hooked us up with multiple vendors, rentals and took care of the majority of decor. We had some accent pieces and a hodge podge of other decorations. When Sherri showed us the final product during our cocktail hour, we were both truly blown away. It was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Beyond her fantastic planning and decorating skills, Sherri is the coordinator of your dreams. She was waiting patiently for us after the ceremony with 2 glasses of champagne, she checked in on us frequently throughout the day, she provided gentle recommendations and corralled our guests as needed. Her team led with the same gracious and helpful spirit and her husband Dan even drove our shuttle bus for us! I can't say enough how well we were taken care of by this entire team. Sherri helped me from the very beginning. When we linked up, she sent me a list of preferred vendors and their contact info. Along with an online planner, which helped me keep track of my budget, inspirations and vendor numbers. Sherri took it to the next level and would respond with comments, thoughts, ways to save money etc on all my inspo. I would email Sherri at all hours of the day/night/morning and her responses were pretty much instant. She had the best recommendations for every detail or process. The day of our wedding, our heaters bailed. Sherri called various rental places, friends and family to find us a last minute heater. She somehow got us some, and didnt even have us worry about the cost. Sherri not only came and set up my whole ceremony, but entire my reception. She knew my inspiration and transformed the space into my pinterest dreams. I did not have to go in and lift a finger. Hiring Sherri was probably one of the best decisions of my day, I would NOT have done it without her. She is miracle worker, pleasure to be around, quick, knows her stuff and organized. I was truly able to enjoy my wedding weekend worry free.

We were traveling with our two children and chose the inn because it appeared to be a traditional New England property in a convenient location. Condition of the Property: The building and interiors appear not to have been updated in decades. Much of the furniture, fixtures, and decor looked extremely worn and outdated. Rather than feeling historic or charming, the property felt neglected. Cleanliness: Several areas of the inn appeared poorly maintained and not particularly clean, which made it difficult to relax in the room or common areas. Management Interaction: Our interaction with the manager, Stan, was uncomfortable. He came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the stay feel even more awkward. Overall Atmosphere: The general condition of the building was unsettling enough that our children were actually frightened and asked if we could leave and stay somewhere else. While the location could be appealing, the property seems to need significant updates, improved upkeep, and a more welcoming approach to guests.

We had a great stay at the Fireside Inn & Suites and would definitely recommend it!…read more The location was excellent, with Sawyer's Dairy Bar right across the street and plenty of attractions just a short drive away. The outdoor pool looked really nice, although we didn't get a chance to use it. The indoor pool, however, was amazing--honestly one of the best hotel pools I've been in! They even provided pool noodles and toys, which was a really nice touch. The hot tub was awesome too, especially with the waterfall feature. Our room was comfortable and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable, and while I wish the pillows had been a little larger, they were still comfortable. The room also had a pull-out couch and a large TV. The bathroom was great, with a nice shower and wall-mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. One thing I loved was the air conditioner. The fan was nice and loud, which meant I didn't even need to use my white noise machine to sleep--I slept great! We didn't use the fitness room, so I can't comment on that. Breakfast was grab-and-go style with a nice selection including cereal, yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, and toast. We ended up going to the bagel shop across the street instead, but it looked like there were plenty of good options available at the hotel. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay here again. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a great location with an outstanding indoor pool, this is a fantastic choice!

Stayed here to visit Gunstock to ski in March…read more Although there are closer inns/lodges (to Gunstock) to stay at in Gilford, I really liked this location because there are more things in the area. Patrick's across the street has a great dinner. There's a laundromat and a wine store in that same mall. The suite we stayed in was older but very big with a full kitchen, living room and bedroom which is what I was looking for. The sofa bed was kind of bent out of shape but they have brand new plush mattress toppers. This is like staying in a condo, with a physical metal key. Elaine (I think that was her name) was so nice and I felt like I was visiting her house, she was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast is grab and go; breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, fruit cups, instant oatmeal, cereal/milk, muffins, granola bars etc, all prepackaged food. Honestly it was great that they even offered that. There's a convenience store across the street that you can buy food if you have a kitchen if you want to make hot prepared food. The air conditioning/heating is thru wall units so it can be noisy going on and off all night so I just used earplugs.
