Ladies, you know how hard it is to come up with "best birthday present ever." I was encouraged to sign up for the beginner 5 week class lead by Eric. This posting is for the winter dining service at Concord (NH) Country Club…read more The Concord Country Club is a members only golf club and events venue and is busy during the warmer months and golf season. During the winter months, their dining room and bar (upstairs clubhouse) is open to the public for winter dining season when the golf course is closed. Also, there are event rooms for gatherings and holiday parties taking place here and plenty of parking. While I was on social media, I was getting postings for the dining room opening up at Concord Country Club with their menu and pictures of some their food. I decided to stop by CCC for dinner very recently. The place was busy with an event going on in a function room and the clubhouse was open to the public for dining and drinks. This room has several tables, high tables, TV on the wall, and seating up at the bar with another TV. I took a seat up at the bar and given the winter lunch/dinner food menu I saw online. They also had posted specials too. The menu has a selection of appetizers, flatbreads, salads, soup, handhelds with side, main entrees (steak, chicken, pork, seafood, pasta), and desserts. The pricing is moderate and fair. They also offer happy hour specials from 3pm to 5pm Thu-Sat. They also serve Sunday brunch and Sunday lunch too. I was given an ice water and decided on the Sausage Fritters ($14 plus tax) and the House Rachel with Shoestring Fries ($14 plus tax), which came out together in about 15 minutes. The Sausage Fritters were comprised of 3 deep fried battered fritter balls with nduja sausage, resno chile, ginger, fennel, onion and cilantro yogurt sauce with black sesame seeds for dipping. These fritters were excellent. The House Rachel was a good sized sandwich with smoked turkey slices, creamy cole slaw, melted Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing on toasted house rye bread. This sandwich was well made and the fresh rye bread made the difference in a positive way. The lightly salted golden shoestring fries were standard. For dessert, the Sticky Toffee Pudding ($8 plus tax) had warm pieces of firm toffee cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream & caramel sauce , a great ending to a great dinner. Overall, I enjoyed the food wishing I could try other things on the menu like the halibut nuggets, gnocchi, roasted vegetable flatbread, and chicken tenders. The check was $39.06 with tax and before tip. The friendly bartenders did not rush me as I enjoyed my food at the bar and they were also serving attendees drinks through the back counter window from the adjacent function room. I will try to hurry back since the winter dining season at CCC is limited time.
