    Breakfast at the inn

A very sweet, quiet, comfortable place to stay! We stayed in the Jennifer room which was perfect for two friends traveling together. There's a king bed in the main bedroom as well a twin bed in its own little nook. The rooms are basic but comfortable with everything you'd need. The inn itself is an old sprawling New England house and funky with lots of interesting details. Not fancy, but tastefully decorated. The inn has a friendly host, Dennis, who is available and accommodating. We took the canoe out one day and a two person kayak the next. The lake was so peaceful and beautiful! It's a very rural area so it's not a hot vacation spot, it seems like a lot of family owned homes rather than vacation rentals. There's not a whole lot to do so plan to bring a book, a swimsuit (in summer), and a willingness to unplug. We drove around and found a sculpture garden and several covered bridges. In the winter it would be cozy too, with a wood stove and a parlor with games. We had dinner at the Flying Goose Brew Pub, which was just fine. Basic American food (good but no frills), friendly staff, and only about 5 minutes from the inn. Breakfast at the inn was incredible... home made hash, poached eggs with hollandaise, hot biscuits, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Seeking a special getaway to the Lake Sunapee region, we opted for this B+B in nearby North Sutton on its own little Kezar Lake. What a lovely place to stay. Our first afternoon upon check-in we borrowed a kayak available to Follansbee Inn guests to explore the lake, seeing a closeup a trio of loons diving for fish and making their unique bird sound. Guests may also use the inn's canoes and bikes. Breakfasts are a notable feature at Follansbee Inn, prepared by Dennis, the chef/owner. Each morning Denis prepared a hot full selection of Creole cuisine fare. One day we enjoyed wild blueberry waffles, fresh fruit, a meaty dish and cheesy grits, the next day egg frittata, melon and a wonderful Angel flaky biscuit. Yummy. Several good restaurants are in the area towns of New London/Newbury/Sutton and Sunapee. Be sure to visit the John Hay estate at "The Fells" and take a lake cruise on the MV Sunapee and try to stay at the Follansbee Inn during fall foliage time as the reflection of the tree-lined Kezar Lake will surely be breathtaking.

Just finishing up a 2 week stay at this quaint country inn. A beautiful setting and a well cared for building. The owner, Denis, cooked up a unique breakfast with something different every day, usually inluding at least one Louisiana specialty (Denis's home state), and fresh fruit. We had one of the king bed rooms w/pvt bath. Some rooms have a shared bath. The lake is small, just right for lazy quiet kayaking.

Took my kids there for a weekend and had an amazing time. Dennis, the owner, was super nice about getting out and putting away boats on the lake. Also, the breakfast was amazing every day. Looking forward to our next trip out there!

    Warm and cozy sitting room.

This is a very charming New England Inn. Across the street from Keizer Lake. The Innkeeper Dennis is very friendly and his dog Angel so sweet. We are looking forward to Sunday morning breakfast .

The room was absolutely adorable and exactly what I would have hoped for in a quaint B&B up in the mountains! There was a giant whirlpool tub in the room and a little balcony right outside our door. The breakfasts... I couldn't resist taking pictures of the elaborate (and equally as delicious) breakfasts we had each morning! We also had a new cheese board each day to snack on, and all was local products from NH! I've stayed at B&Bs before, but have never had an experience even remotely close to this one! My husband and I went skiing at Mt. Sunapee and searched for a nearby place to crash. There were not many options besides bigger motels, this option was perfect. The home has 3 guest bedrooms, all appointed with top of the line furnishings, 2 have mountain views. We had the apple blossom room. The bathroom had an awesome jetted tub that George showed us how to use. It was so high tech it even has a button to clean itself after. The bedroom was impeccable with a light carpet and no trace of wear on it. The bed was comfy and the room had a little deck and LCD TV. Outside is a big yard and little barn area with chickens. Linda left a plate of cheese and fruit out of us at our arrival. After skiing it was the perfect snack. I thought that was good then when we returned from dinner, she had put out a plate of home made cookies. We ate them by the fire with tea. She takes pride in the food she offers, even having a tea menu and serving in a individual pot. George saw we enjoyed the fire and brought in more logs to keep it going. Breakfast in the morning was incredibly filling and yummy. She started us with caramelized pears and Greek yogurt, then a plate of their own eggs, ham, corn-cakes and fruit. On the side we had a moist orange nut bread. While we were there, there was 1 other woman staying and we chatted her up. While we were getting ready to leave, Linda gave me a cookbook calendar with some of the recipes used in her breakfast. What a great way to leave and as a newlywed I'm already planning to make some recipes soon. I hope to come back in the summer too to explore and use the nearby lake. In the winter they have snowshoes to borrow. I highly recommend this place for an all seasons getaway.

Definitely a seasonal place we're regulars spend their time. Quiet hours are after 10pm and fire had to be out before midnight. There are privacy fences around the few tent sites. When we forgot our paddles for one of our kayaks they let us use one for free. They had paddle boards and kayak rentals as well. The beach area was as nice as it could be but it did have a lot of floaties and a good amount of guck on the bottom. It wasn't a deep lake and it was filled with river weed and plant like to the surface just after the beach. Definitely don't want to fall in out of the beach area ! The owners hand delivered ice and fire wood whenever we called the front office, among other things. They wouldn't take our tips either. They even had a small store. This year was the first year that mangy was horrible as the camp ground was sold to modern America and it use to be a family owned camp ground . No one was ever there to meet us to check us in or there when we had to return the gate key . The first visit my uncle who is handicap the bathroom shower seat broke when he was on it , one of the mgt was there and did nothing but put a sign on the bathroom "use caution shower seat broke " 5 weeks later they kinda fixed it. We started a fire and half the ground from the site went up as the site was full of pine needles and leaves that were never cleaned up. We were asked to move our car from the overflow parking lot when the same lady told us to put it there. The last night of our stay in Oct of 2023 there was domestic with a gun at the entrance and not one person of mgt was there but my husband was with the police. I am so upset with modern America They every went as far as not renewing another family memebers seasonal because she asked very nicely when they thought the shower seat would be fixed (after 4 weeks) she politely stated there are lots of elderly and disabled in the park an she was just wondering .

But the wonderful woman who had just gotten off duty at the front desk heard my story, she quickly arranged for me to check in at the Inn.
