I could truely go on and on, but actually I suggest you get your butt to this place and enjoy a long weekend with our without a special event. (note they do weddings here so it books up!). Just go. Go for the breakfasts, go for the dinners, go and ask Stan for some house-smoked meats! Seriously, these people are amazing, the space is special, and the complete quiet (and darkness at night) are a wonderful relief. Note: Cell signal is poor at best. Wifi is available, but really...don't do it, unplug for a few days.

We were traveling with our two children and chose the inn because it appeared to be a traditional New England property in a convenient location. Condition of the Property: The building and interiors appear not to have been updated in decades. Much of the furniture, fixtures, and decor looked extremely worn and outdated. Rather than feeling historic or charming, the property felt neglected. Cleanliness: Several areas of the inn appeared poorly maintained and not particularly clean, which made it difficult to relax in the room or common areas. Management Interaction: Our interaction with the manager, Stan, was uncomfortable. He came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the stay feel even more awkward. Overall Atmosphere: The general condition of the building was unsettling enough that our children were actually frightened and asked if we could leave and stay somewhere else. While the location could be appealing, the property seems to need significant updates, improved upkeep, and a more welcoming approach to guests.

We drove up to listen to "The Jovial Crew" Saturday. This group performs Shanty, folklore rich songs of the sea, pub and more. Amazing vocals from the guys and a chance to join in to sing along. This was a BYOB event, a traditional Grog mix was provided by the Inn Keepers (non alcoholic) to which you could add the "Spirit"that you brought with you. House made Desserts were included with admission. They even had some themed treats, Hardtack and Joe Froggers. If you were staying at the Follansbee Inn, admission for the concert was included. For locals, tickets were available at the door. But, stay at the Inn for an overnight, their Breakfasts are included and amazingly delicious.

The room was absolutely adorable and exactly what I would have hoped for in a quaint B&B up in the mountains! There was a giant whirlpool tub in the room and a little balcony right outside our door. The breakfasts... I couldn't resist taking pictures of the elaborate (and equally as delicious) breakfasts we had each morning! We also had a new cheese board each day to snack on, and all was local products from NH! I've stayed at B&Bs before, but have never had an experience even remotely close to this one! Thank you Linda and George for making this past weekend one I will not soon forget!!

AAAAmazing!!! This…read morewas our best B+B yet. Everything was so charming, clean, delicious and perfect. It was hard to leave. Linda and George run a sweet place there. My husband and I went skiing at Mt. Sunapee and searched for a nearby place to crash. There were not many options besides bigger motels, this option was perfect. The home has 3 guest bedrooms, all appointed with top of the line furnishings, 2 have mountain views. We had the apple blossom room. The bathroom had an awesome jetted tub that George showed us how to use. It was so high tech it even has a button to clean itself after. The bedroom was impeccable with a light carpet and no trace of wear on it. The bed was comfy and the room had a little deck and LCD TV. Outside is a big yard and little barn area with chickens. Linda left a plate of cheese and fruit out of us at our arrival. After skiing it was the perfect snack. I thought that was good then when we returned from dinner, she had put out a plate of home made cookies. We ate them by the fire with tea. She takes pride in the food she offers, even having a tea menu and serving in a individual pot. George saw we enjoyed the fire and brought in more logs to keep it going. Breakfast in the morning was incredibly filling and yummy. She started us with caramelized pears and Greek yogurt, then a plate of their own eggs, ham, corn-cakes and fruit. On the side we had a moist orange nut bread. While we were there, there was 1 other woman staying and we chatted her up. While we were getting ready to leave, Linda gave me a cookbook calendar with some of the recipes used in her breakfast. What a great way to leave and as a newlywed I'm already planning to make some recipes soon. I hope to come back in the summer too to explore and use the nearby lake. In the winter they have snowshoes to borrow. I highly recommend this place for an all seasons getaway.

The website says there is a private beach, but that may be outdated because the owner only had a pass to the local public beach which was on the other side of the lake. Though it was a little hairy getting all the way to the 3rd floor with itty bitty stairs on the staircase from the 2nd to 3rd floors. Room #8, was small, but spacious and extremely comfortable. Its been a long time since I slept on such a comfortable bed and that includes sleeping on my own bed! The Inn has free WiFi, and nice common area sitting rooms. The dining room was nice and they have printed menus which you fill out each night so breakfast can be prepared for you the next morning. Dennis and Roberta are so friendly, as is Vicki who is the housekeeper and assists with breakfast in the morning. They run a great B&B and I look forward to future visits when I'm back in the area for another reunion or visit to the college. Highly recommend you making a reservation at this lovely B&B, right off the highway and within 3 miles of New London, close to Sunapee and skiing and Sunapee Harbor. A great location, and a great place to stay!!

The innkeeper was very friendly and personable and I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area. The main building has four guest quarters on the second floor. We had a HUGE room complete with sitting area, large windows and a spacious adjoining bathroom. The rest of the main building consisted of a large entry room, receiving room with lots of Vermont products for sale, kitchen, dining, game room, and a larger family type room. The whole house was surrounded by deep wrap around porches. There is also a cottage with two additional guest quarters, barns, a screened gazebo, a swimming pond full of frogs, horses, and some additional outbuildings. The property backs up to Quechee Gorge. Breakfast was different and very tasty each day. The first day was a spinach and egg dish, served with granola, fruit, coffee and yogurt. The second day was stuffed baked french toast with the same accompaniments. The innkeeper made reservations for us for dinner the second night we were there, just another great touch. The decor of the rooms was a little more modern than most B&Bs and I rather enjoyed it. Our room was outfitted with two nice leather chairs with ottomans, a substantial king sized bed with white, red and black linens, and some interesting artwork (little pewter and copper figurines on a shelf, etc). Such a nice time, I think we will splurge next summer at full price to get a weekend away here.
