Having played poker in a casino over 15 years, I have decided to give dealing a shot. I have…read morealways wanted to deal poker professionally, be it part or full time. But I have no experience sooooo I enrolled in the Mizrachi Dealer Academy Inc. The program is 120 hours long, which takes about 6 weeks minimum considering the dealer school is only open M-Th. I currently have logged about 18 hours and it is a definite W.I.P (work in progress). Stacy, the instructor, is very demanding and has her own in-your-face style. But there is no doubt an end game method to the style. Poker dealers generally take in between 50k-60k so going to poker school is worth it. In order to get a dealing position, one must pass an audition at a casino. There is where the poker school is crucial because of contacts to local poker rooms. Otherwise, it is tough to get that perverbial foot in the door. Stacy teaches you the proper techniques from the ground up. But, as there are other students, one must also practice well on his or her own. I currently have my own green felt and poker chips at home for practice purposes. Completing the 120 hour course does not guarantee anyone a diploma and an audition, as everyone learns at a different pace. But those students with over 120 hours are allowed to attend the classes until they are audition ready. Gulfstream Casino and Mardi Gras Casino are the two major contacts in connection with the dealer school. However, once you become an adept dealer with a diploma, most other casinos may give you a look. I only know of a few other poker dealer schools in South Florida. Based on my 18 hour experience so far, the Mizrachi Dealer Academy Inc is the way to go. Because if you can handle the pressure there, I believe it to be a piece of cake dealing for real in a casino. You are taught, among other techniques, how to pitch the cards, count the bank, cut the chips, proper shuffling, the different poker games, count and take the rake, running the game, what to look for, and several other necessities for dealing success. But it's not easy. I know the game well but was surprised how little I knew about dealing. Awkward at first, I now feel like I'm beginning to hit a little groove. The 120 hour course costs $1,300. It may be paid in two increments. So, if you are looking to switch careers like me, give poker dealing and this school a look. It can be a part time job as well...

I'm a nervous wreck and it's hard to believe in myself in most situations! Boy oh boy did Stacy change that. The way she believed in me, helped me to believe in myself. She has a way of making you WANT to be better. If you take her course, you will want to prove yourself to her and it will push you to practice every day. It will push you to want to do it for yourself. She never gives up on you. If the course was double the price I paid, I would still do it. She goes above and beyond to implant the rules in your head. If everyone learned from her, the casinos would all have perfect dealers. I'm so happy I took the step to take this course. I went from a lost waitress to a confident poker dealer and I owe it all to her. Stacy, if you're reading this. Thank you. Thank you. And thank you again.

The people who want to go to haas middle school. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. this is the worst school…read moreever, as a student of this school (7th grade going to 8th). this is horrible. the teachers are so rude and don't even get me started on the students are so problematic. And if you get bulled and report it no one would do anything about it. i had a teacher that left in the middle of the school and then replaced like three month's later all that time wasted and we didn't even learn anything. then finally when they got replaced the teacher didn't even teach, the teacher just sat there watching tik-tok. instead of science class it was recess time. even the students were bring out there phones!! and honestly i don't even care doing work cuz am just lazy, and am okay with that. but the fact that they don't do anything about it, is just crazy. and the students can be so rude too, and if you say something about it you get a reported for just that, which is so unreasonable. the only thing i liked about the school is my friends that helped me survived though this hell hole.

Where to begin with this school. So much has happened over the course of 2021-2022 school year…read more This school is one of the most problematic school ever in South Florida and maybe in the entire State. Starting with the Counseling and Security. Every day it was something whether someone called the police, or someone had an altercation. The school counseling team including Ms. Dallas had other things to focus on like suspending others for little tiny things like Uniforms and talking back to teachers, and sometimes I wonder if that was the best use of time. However, down in the office Ive been there many times. Those office staff are very two face. They talk crap about every single parent and student behind their back. Using cuss words, and acting very unprofessional in a School environment while ON THE JOB. However, they get the job done and they do it right. One thing this school excels at is giving students rewards. While it isn't such a bad thing, that's probably the one thing this school only does. Every other week theres always something planned for someone or for a test or such. This is a good factor to have in a school because it keeps kids encouraged to do their work. Students at this school do receive a very high achieving curriculum because it offers High School classes. However last year was an absolute joke when it comes to testing, grades, etc. We would cycle through about 2 teachers every 3 months. I had a class where we did not have any grades until the last week because we had cycled through so many teachers. Ms St. Lot, did an absolute phenomenal job at assisting the classes with no set instructor because she made the work very flexible and easy to do for the students. At best, this school is average. It gets the job done when providing education for K-8 Students. But for parents, you can absolutely find a better school because this one isn't what it seems on the outside.

There are no people who are born as naturally skilled fisherman. Fishing is a learned sport that,…read moreif you're ever going to be any good at, can only be accomplished through education, instruction and learning. Fortunately IGFA School of Sportfishing offers practical classroom studies where one may acquire the knowledge and necessary skills. The classes aren't cheap, $150/class session for nonmembers, $100/class session for members. Some of the class offerings are Fundamentals of Sportfishing, Targeting Nearshore Gamefish, All About Live Bait, Bottom Fishing Wrecks and Reefs, Kite Fishing Techniques and Wintertime Wahoo, just to name a few. All of the classes are taught by top notch professional sportfishermen or sportfishing guides, many of whom are captains of local sportfishing charter boats. Each class runs approximately four hours with a take home study book as well as a number of other goodies provided. After having attended six of these classes myself, I can attest to the fact that you be learning from the best of the best in sportfishing, taught with no hold backs on all sorts of professional fishing techniques, secrets of the trade and skills you'll need to know in order to be successful. But then, this is classroom learning and like with all other acquired skills you'll need to practice what you've been taught. Then at the end of the class, if you can pass the rigorous final exam (don't worry....just joking), you'll receive an impressive rather gorgeous looking diploma. Matter of fact, I shudder to say, far better looking and more impressive in appearance either my Ph.D. or law degree diplomas.

I signed up for the ACLS/BLS bundle course with Clinical Solutions in Orlando a full month in…read moreadvance. I arrived 10 minutes early to the listed location, only to find the doors locked and the building completely empty. A few other confused participants were also waiting outside. I checked my email and saw that Clinical Solutions had sent a message only 19 minutes before the scheduled start time stating the class was "canceled and rescheduled due to low registration." The rescheduled date in the email was apparently random, as if everyone would simply be available whenever they chose. This last-minute cancellation was already unacceptable--but things only got worse from there. When I called to confirm, the man who answered contradicted the email entirely. He claimed the class was not canceled, but instead moved to Zoom because the instructor was still on shift. He was vague and dismissive and said I would "get a Zoom link and the meeting would start sometime between 10 and 10:30," but they weren't sure. I drove home and prepared for the Zoom meeting. I received an email stating it would start at 10:00 AM. I logged in--nothing. "Waiting for host to start." I waited 10 minutes... 15 minutes... still nothing. I called again and was told, "Sir, didn't you get the email? The meeting starts at 11:00." I explained that their own link clearly said 10:00. His response: "Oh, sh*t! No, it's at 11:00, sorry." Completely unprofessional. I logged in again at 11:00 and Zoom said the host was in another meeting. I waited until 11:10 and called again to find out what was going on. He put me on hold for 10 minutes and never came back. When I called back, he recognized my voice and immediately got defensive, saying, "I told you the meeting is at 11:00; it's only 11:20; I'm waiting for (mumble); I can't do anything about it." No apology, no explanation, no solution. At this point I had been dealing with over two hours of disorganization, misinformation, and rude customer service. When I asked for a refund, he became irritated, raised his voice, and spoke over me. His final words: "I'll process it. Happy holidays." and he hung up on me. I still don't know how long the refund will take--and honestly, that may become a separate review depending on how they handle it. This whole situation is unacceptable. This was a course scheduled weeks ahead for 9:00 AM, yet an email canceling it was sent minutes before start time, after people had already arrived. Then to be given conflicting information about a Zoom class, no clear start time, no accountability, and rude service on top of that? I've used Clinical Solutions before in Fort Lauderdale and never had an issue, but after today's experience with the Orlando location, I will never sign up for their courses again. There is simply no excuse for this level of disorganization, rudeness, or lack of respect for people's time. I traveled, rearranged my schedule, and prepared for this course--only to be met with complete chaos and zero professionalism. I strongly recommend choosing another provider.
